Just the most fantastic setting, overlooking the sea to the Isle of Arran. You get to choose from available pitches (a warden walks you through the options) and if you are really lucky you find one on the sea-side of the site, offering the best views. The other pitches are also good, but not quite as good ! The sunsets are to die for.
The pitches are of good size, so not cramped even when busy. There are great walks down to Culzean castle on the coast, both on the 'official' access road and also via the dog walk from the back of the site. The latter mustn't be missed - the (enchanted?) forest is just so gorgeous and peaceful.
The facilities are good quality and well maintained (closed 10:30-11:30 for cleaning). The lack of a small shop for basics is always disappointing, but there is a brand new, just opened Co-Op supermarket 10 minutes away (by car) on the outskirts of Maybole (don't bother with the centre of town - to say it's past its prime would be an understatement).
We cannot praise the wardens enough - all (4) were the utmost in friendliness and helpfulness.

This was the Easter weekend so was expected to be busy. Although busy it still had a quiet feel about it.
Were greeted by warden and passed on to other wardens until we were shown out pitch, they were very friendly.
Dog walk is long and gated.

Another lovely weekend at this quiet site which has great sea views (although not from all of the pitches!)
The facilities block is kept clean and tidy, and the staff are welcoming and friendly.
We recommend walking into the grounds of Culzean castle (via the ticket office!), and on down the coast to Maidens.
There is a cafe within the grounds of Culzean, but there is also a nice bistro in Maidens, called Ropes which has outdoor seating with sea views.

Lovely welcome, nice clean facilities.
Dog friendly, dog walks on site plus nice beaches close by to give them a run.
Lots to do in the area.
Disappointed we could not see the castle without paying £13 each.
Would definitely go again.

From the moment we pulled up to the gate until we left the staff were just so helpful.
The site has something for everyone. Our spot had a grandstand view of the Isle of Arran.
The dog walking is awesome. The beach is fantastic.
The castle is well worth a visit. The whole site is clean & well maintained.
Overall a fantastic experience for our 1st visit to the west coast of Scotland.
Just a heads up. If you want to take your car to the islands you need to book well ahead.
We got to Arran as foot passengers but would’ve liked to take the car.
Other than that, even the ferry staff were really friendly and helpful.

On arrival met by a welcoming
And friendly couple Got shown to our pitch and explained where everything was on the site,
Fantastic site to stay in. Everything neat and tidy only used toilets once but very clean again and spotless.
Very quiet site to relax and unwind.
Short walk to castle and beach.
Would recommend this site to anyone.
Only draw back Gentleman supports QPR and I support Fulham. Friendly banter between us both.
This site is a credit to two lovely people and how its run.

Camped with electric. Our pitch was flat and in the middle, although quite a few pitches were sloping.
We had torrential rain and strong winds during the trip, as such the ground was waterlogged.
Views when the rain cleared on our last day were beautiful.
Childrens playground was well used even in the rain by our small child older children may not have made as much use out of it.
Facilities were spotless could not fault.
Walked from site via back of the site path to Culzean castle grounds. Fantastic playground and walks we spent a full day there.
Food we ate at the bbq place in Ayr very good. Also the fish and chip place ( indoor seating) in Girvan which was good.

Just returned from a 4 night safari tent readycamp stay. The tent was really good, comfy beds and fridge, microwave, kettle and cooking utensils all readily available.
Small heater which was great but didn’t heat the tent very much but we took extra fleece blankets to prepare for cooler nights.
The tents overlooked the view across to Isle of Arran with beautiful sunsets. Culzean castle can be reached on foot from the site. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy.
Lovely spot and views. The wardens on site were really friendly. We arrived on foot as we got the train to Ayr and the bus stopped outside camp which was handy.
Also had Tesco groceries drop some supplies off to us which was excellent with having no car until my husband joined us.

Great location right next to the entrance for Culzean castle and Country Park.
A very warm, efficient welcome by the site staff who tell you everything you need to know along with a site map and general info. They even walk up to your pitch so you know exactly where you're going. Fantastic service :)
We had a super spot at the edge of the site looking out over a barley field with the sea and The Isle of Arran for our view. It was fabulous and despite the rainy weather we had a great little holiday.
Superb walks from the site through the park, on to the castle, walled gardens etc. The beach is easy to access from there, another nice walk for the dog to enjoy too.
The site facilities were excellent, the toilets/shower block etc were immaculately clean, all in top working order, in a convenient location.
Everyone who was staying seemed very happy too, we will most definitely back to this fab site and recommend it to our friends.
Thank you Carole, Sean and Teddy.
