Stayed in the last week of the season. The wardens were genuinely friendly, unfortunately they are moving on. Pitched up overlooking the sea to Arran, magnificent views. Site is clean, as were toilets. The site was quiet as it was out of children season. It is in a lovely area to explore and the castle and grounds are a treat. There walks aplenty, through woods or on the shore. Will be back, to explore further.

Stayed for 4 nights at this site. Beautiful views from pitch of Arran with gorgeous sunsets. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. Very clean well kept site. Facilities were immaculate. Only downside was no tv reception. (We had left satellite dish at home)Enjoyable stay however, but if we had managed to get tv (if only to keep up on weather forecasts) we would have definitely stayed longer. Will visit again but will take satellite next time.

Arrived with friends and another tent. Couldn't get our pitches together and the pitch that we were given was on a slope. I found this quite bad considering £40 for a nights stay.
On arriving we were told straight away no ball games and no frisbees for children and how they are a family friendly park and lights out for 11pm.
We have older children from age 7 to 11 and the small swing park. Ie one swing and chute are far too small for them. Children got a row for playing with a sponge ball and later on for playing with scooters on the concrete because it was outside the toilet area but this however is the only proper paving for them to go them.
I found the toilets to be pleasant and the shop priced well for treats.
Although we went walks with the children round the castle etc we won't return to this park due to restrictions for the children who were bored as they had nothing to do on the site which is a shame for a supposedly family friendly site.

Lovely welcome from friendly and helpful wardens who are are credit to C&C club. Site was fully booked but toilets and showers remained spotless albeit a bit dated (this appears to be typical of all the C&CC sites we've visited!) Spectacular views as others reviewers have said but chocks needed for many pitches. These were kindly provided for us by wardens as were bricks for BBQ. Culzean Castle well worth a visit and within walking distance of site for the reasonably fit (downhill/uphill walk!) Would definitely return.

A quiet site, lovely location, easy to find, spotlessly clean, the toilet disposal point was fairly central for all of the pitches, TV reception variable but satellite TV / radio reception OK and excellent shower block. As always at C&CC sites the staff were welcoming and friendly. Good basic shop on site with bigger shops, excellent farm shops and some excellent restaurants within 10 minutes drive. Lots to do in the area, including the castle itself. Slightly expensive if you are not a member. Would recommend

We arrived later than expected but the wardens were still welcoming and showed us to a pitch with a fantastic view over to Arran. The sunsets were spectacular. The pitch was slightly sloping but this didn't cause us a problem. The facilities were a bit dated but met the expected Camping and Caravanning Club standards. The washing up facilities were covered but not enclosed so this could be an issue in very bad weather. We were told the site was full by the wardens but it didn't feel like it was. We didn't visit the castle but drove along the beautiful coastline to Ayr via Dunure which has it's own ruined but free castle! There is a charge for visiting Culzean Castle but there is a discount for site visitors. The site is a bit isolated and all amenities are a car drive but it is a nice site in a stunning location. I just wish it wasn't over four hours drive from home!

Just back from a weekend at this lovely site. Despite poor weather we had a lovely time. Very friendly and helpful wardens, spotless toilet facilities, smashing views. Only small critisism is the children's playpark is very basic. This did not detract from our break however.
The site is set in a great location for exploring South West Scotland. A hour drive South will get you as far as Portpatrick and North to the Arran ferry. Lovely places locally to see - the lovely village of Dunure is worth a short drive or a long walk.
We will return - often!

Ninety pitch site located within the Culzean Estate, some with hardstandings others on grass, but all slope. Central toilet block, clean but dated and only two washing up sinks. One chemical waste which is not central to site and is hike for most locations. Sites EHU is only 10amp, and wardens confirm constantly trips with the demands of modern units – don’t use kettle and microwave at same time!
Great location for visiting and exploring Culzean Castle and grounds which is National Trust. You do have to pay (£ 15. 00/person for Castle and grounds), so it’s worth becoming NT member before visiting and using their discount scheme (30+% on annual membership) then take advantage of exploring the grounds and Castle.
Overall great location, but take your (large) levelling chocks!

We have just spent an enjoyable two night stay at Culzean. The wardens are pleasant and very helpful. When we arrived they let us use one of the hardstanding pitches which overlooks the Isle of Arran. Ian led us to the site and when we unhitched our caravan he said we didn't need to use the motor mover and just swung the van into its position on the pitch. It's not the first time he has done this.
We enjoyed the various walks and watched the pheasants and buzzards that were feeding in the field next to the site where they were preparing the ground for planting tatties.
The toilet blocks are spotless and a credit to the wardens who look after the site. I don't like having to get out of the car to open the barrier. I would much prefer an electronic swipe card to enter and exit the site.
The site has a small play area for young children but as it is fairly close to the entrance parents would have to be in attendance for safety purposes.
The site has a small shop which opened early morning and around tea time.
I am looking forward to a return visit to this lovely peaceful site.
I would thoroughly recommend this site.

This is a modern spacious site conversazione for visiting the castle. It has good toilets and showers and plenty of space. Hookups are good. The pitches are on grass which is fine on dry weather, but the grass is cut and left lying meaning it gets trailed into your caravan.
The management are exceptionally friendly and do their best to welcome you and help you get on the site.
The downside is the price. This is the most expensive site I ever stayed in, but far from the best in quality. We paid £35 per night. I think its less if you are in the club, but £35 is way over the top. For that price we expected a lot more.
Another big downside is that you have to book a minimum of 2 nights. When we heard the price we only wanted one night but had to hand over £70.
The castle is great to visit though.
