August 2005 BH Weekend
Lovely site, with fantastic view of Aaran and other islands. You can go and explore the expanse that is Culzean castle at no cost (except for the house). Fab walks there for people and dogs. Great views and some beaches.
Wardens were really friendly and helpful.site was busy but didn't appear crowded, plenty of facilities to go round! (altough the washing up sinks got really busy at peak times.there are only 2!)
Other things to do in the area depend on what you like doing and whether you have kids. There are nice drives up / down the coast, there's a train statiion in maybole so you can get to glasgow edinburgh easily, golfers will be spoiled by Turnerry which is just up the road!. Ayr isn't the most picturesque part of scotland but has some ok shopping.
Try not to underestimate how far it is to get here from preston it's 4 hrs mainly motorway, took us 4.5 coming home a different route in an attempt to cut some distance out.
All in all we had a good time here, the people we met were really friendly and welcoming (that's you tommy and agnes if you're reading this!), not sure if we'd go back, probably go further north next time.

August 2004 As can be expected from a C&C Club site. A very good site, toilets and showers are clean and in good order with the added benefit of some private cubicles with wash basins. Hair driers in both mens and womens blocks 20p coins.Laundry room has two sinks for hand washing, a washing machine, spin drier and an iron and ironing board (iron takes 20p coins).Generally the site is level but some pitches are sloping. The site is well drained and coped well with several very heavy rainstorms. Best of all are the stunning views of the Isle of Arran and just visible beyond that is Kintyre, be prepared for some splendid sunsets.
