So good I almost didn't want to share it! We had an absolutely delightful stay, one of our best yet.

The owners are an absolute delight, very accommodating and will do everything they can to make your stay a pleasure and lots of fun - without being at all over bearing.

Its a relatively small site with just 5 pitches for caravans and a beautiful meadow for tents etc. However, the way the site and gardens have been beautifully designed means you always have a feel of space. The surroundings in the garden are stunning, if you like nature you'll love this.

Butterflies in abundance, pitches all enclosed by trees etc, pigs for the kids to feed, chickens that the lovely owners let you collect the eggs from (one of my kids favourite activities).

They even let us have a open fire under the stars and I've not felt so at one with nature for a very long time. This is quite rare these days.

What really tops this off and makes it one of the best sites in the region without a doubt is the easy-going, friendly (but not 'in your face'), enthusiastic owners. They have plans a plenty in the pipeline and it all sounds great, I have no doubt they'll bring these ideas into fruition without losing the lovely chilled, relaxed vibe that currently exists.

This site has only been around for a short while but its going to be a long standing favourite of ours and no doubt is going to grow massively in popularity as word gets out (it's already very popular).

Only a matter of time before the exclusive camping guides get hold of this one - Cool Camping, Rough Guide etc. - in the meanwhile I'd make the most of this genuine secret and gem in the heart of some most stunning countryside.

If you want peace, nature, beautiful surroundings, somewhere for the kids to roam free, easy going but fun owners and not too many annoying rules, then this is the place to go!

Book and have fun - and please pass on my regards if you do.

We are a family of 5 & our 3 children are aged 3, 7 & 9 & this we will definitely be coming back again.

It's quite a small site with only 10 pitches but due to the lay out & ideals of the place any more will just spoil it. Each pitch is separated by natural bushes & trees which give you a fair amount of privacy. 5 of the pitches a fully self contained, but there may be future plans to make the other 5 the same.

It's a relatively new site & is a work in progress as the owners Steve & Leslie have big plans for it & you can tell it's a labour of love for them. They've just installed an amazing amenities block with 4 toilets, 3 wet rooms & a wash/laundry room. As well the table tennis table & tv linked to the cams in the pig sty & nests around the area, which the kids loved.

The whole site itself is contained by various locked gates, which is easy enough for adults to open, not so easy for small children, making it as child safe as they possibly can. The children can go running off around the site, play in the meadow, make dens, feed the pigs & chickens, even collect eggs. Steve has started to construct a dipping pond, in a locked enclosure to which parents will be given the key, but his biggest project which he's nearly completed is his micro brewery

The owners themselves just can't help you enough, we have a fairly large tent, too big for pitch 1 & there was a tree stump in the only available pitch with EHU. Steve was all set to loan us an extension lead when he decided to dig up the stump there & then (by hand as his chainsaw packed up!).

It is a bit off the beaten track, which is why it's so quiet, but that means there's not much else for kids too do if they're not of the adventurous type. There is a lovely pub 2 miles down the road called The Wheel Inn in Wisbech St Marys which serves the most delicious carvery & has a very nice beer garden & play area for kids.

Overall The Secret Garden is the ideal campsite for a quiet get-away or for families with adventurous kids.

A real treat of a site, well run with very friendly helpful people.

The site offers a top notch shower block with laundry service, table tennis for the kids, loads of space to run wild and build camps, also pigs and chickens for the kids to enjoy.

Has electric hook ups on 5 pitches, small but perfect site. A mini brewery is planned for end of year/early next year so what more could you ask for !

Also you might be lucky enough to make friends with 'Vernon' the cat, we were very tempted to steal him away!

We stayed here for a couple of days in July. The campsite was really gorgeous with 2 different areas - one for electric hook ups with about 5 pitches, and another field that we stayed in, without electricity with about 6 pitches separated by some light shrubbery.

The centre of this field was left to meadow and the field was also surrounded by meadows.

The toilet block was clean, modern and well kept.

We had to cut our stay short and leave early as I was ill; the owners couldn't have been nicer and refunded our money for the unused nights. We will definitely return.

Just be aware that Google maps says Tesco is just a mile away but in fact due to the canal it is much further drive so you may want to take provisions with you rather than plan to pitch then shop.

We didn't find much to do in Wisbech although there is the Fenland Museum. However the site itself is perfect for just relaxing with nature which above all is what we wanted to do.

This is a superb site in so many ways, the main reason is the owners they cant do enough for you including dragging our van out of the mud good old english weather! The site is quiet, other than the birds. The showers are very good and all the nature is there up close. And in the very near future a brewery on site, just cant wait to go back and try the brew. Also lovely fenced off dog walk area. Chicks and pigs that are so friendly. A very nice touch is FREE wifi, other sites please take note, its good to see that not every site is out to fleece you.

My second visit to this lovely little site. Please see my more detailed review.

Since my previous visit there have been several improvements. Toilet roll holders have now been fitted into the toilet/shower room cubicles. In the amenities block there is now a lovely new washing up/laundry room - very reasonable at 50p a load. There is also a huge ping pong table which my children enjoyed.

The owners are very friendly and the site really is a joy to stay at.

It was lovely to see the site in a different season when all the leaves and flowers where out. The pitches are very spacious and offer a great deal of privacy.

The site is excellent value for money as it is a flat fee of £10 pn inc of ehu.

This site is absolutely stunning, the owners are friendly and the facilities are well kept and clean.

The shower block, kitchen (complete with laundry facilities - 50p) and day room are now in use. The day room is large and has a TV with live coverage of birds nests, pigs and maybe more to come. There is a table tennis table and large meadow for children to play, these and being able to feed the animals were more than enough to keep my children happy as they have deemed this the best campsite ever!

We will definitely be returning.

Wow! Just spent four nights on this lovely site with my two children (10&7). The site is now open to everyone and not just members of the caravan and camping clubs. The cost is £10 per pitch per night, inclusive of EHU. There are 5 pitches, each given a degree of privacy by shrubbery.

First impressions were good. On arrival I was given a tour of the site and shown the facilities. There is a lovely new shower block with three private washing rooms which include shower, sink and toilet. The only thing missing was loo roll holders but as the block has only just been completed I am sure that they will be on the way soon. Also in the amenities block is a washing up room which is nearly completed. There are currently facilities for washing up available near the office.

I was able to take my pick of the available pitches. Each pitch has it's own light, EHU, tv point and tap.

The site is rich in wildlife and there is bird feeding station to encourage birds. The sound of the bird song was lovely, although if you are a light sleeper you might want to take some earplugs, we do anyway so it was no problem for us. There are several bird nesting boxes around the site and the owners have installed cameras into them and provided us with a cable so we were able to watch the comings and goings of the birds from our tent. My children loved it! There are also two rare breed pigs on site, one of which is currently pregnant. Every day the owners left out food for my children to feed the pigs, it was a wonderful experience for them. My children were also taken everyday to collect eggs from the resident chickens and they got to keep some eggs which were beautiful tasting. My children spent hours playing on the site, out in the fresh air, they amused themselves with sticks from the woods and built dens. They said it was the best site they have ever stayed on and are begging to go back. There is no pool, no club, no play park but for them and me it was perfect. There is a large meadow which is available for play or dog walking and also a smaller enclosed area if you wish to let your dog off lead.

We will definitely return when the piglets are born and am looking forward to seeing the site during the summer when there are more leaves on the trees.

I did not notice any noise from the nearby potato farm as mentioned in a previous review. There was a little noise from the road on occasions but that is to be expected.

We visited Wisbech which is the local town. A lovely Georgian town with lots of places of interest. We went to the local museum which was free and was running holiday activities for children, The General Cemetery - which was really interesting and Peckover House.

What a real gem The Secret Garden is. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the site owners and were shown to our pitch. The pitches were fully serviced including fire bucket. Also nest box and pig cam !The new showers and toilets (wet Rooms) would out shine many hotels.

The site is set in peaceful surroundings ! lots of variety of birds including woodpeckers.

Wisbech is the nearest town only 3 miles with ample parking and plenty of shops and a nice market and riverside walks.

We visited this site over the Easter bank holiday, what an absolutely beautiful place. The owners are really friendly people. We got shown to our pitch got shown the facilities, they even had a walk round later to make sure everyone had everything they needed. The new toilet block is brilliant! I was a bit lost for words when I saw it. Great!.

Had a drive into town and the market and shops were lovely. Each pitch has its own water, hook up, t. V point and waste grate. We will return! We took our dog and were shown to another field which we could use as a dog walk, brill, we saw woodpeckers, jays and loads of other wildlife. Talking to the owner he has lots of plans for the future and if the site is anything to go by, I can only imagine how good its going to be without spoiling the beauty of the place. This is a site we will be returning to.
