Visited this site in late August, it really is a very nice site in a rural area, but only 10-15 mins away from the coast. We stayed two night's and met many nice people, including the staff.
The site is very clean, tidy, with a really good shower block and constant hot water. The great thing for me was 10-12 mins away on your way in to Brid, MORRISONS a fantastic large breakfast for under £4 and large supermarket and petrol.
We will visit Thorpe Hall again, maybe in June, this seems a bit cheaper than August, and nearer to my usual budget.

What can I say that I havent already said in my two previous reviews of this site?
Its just fab!
We visited over the bank holiday weekend and must admit due to the weather I was concerned what the pitches would be like. I needn't have been, there was no problem at all and boy did it rain while we were there!
I think we were very lucky to be there as many of the sites local to thorpe hall were flooded, with many of their campers just turning up to see if they was any space for them at thorpe hall. Jayne worked wonders trying to accommodate them and people who I talked to said that they were glad their site had flooded because they were now staying somewhere better.
The showers were kept remarkably very clean considering the amount of rain we had and the number of campers on site. There aren't many places where you get free showers, free shower gel / shampoo and free hairdryers.
The games room and games field kept my two aged 9 and 11 entertained the whole holiday. They moaned when we had to leave the site to go into Bridlington!
Already booked for next August and recommended to lots of people!

Quite a nice site ,although not really our 'cup of tea 'Would possibly recommend to others but not sure we would revisit .
Pros :
Toilets and showers were clean ,free ,very roomy and very powerful although there could have been a few more showers to avoid queues.
Owners were really nice and helpful too
Well located to explore the east coast
Ground must have fantastic drainage as we arrived in very heavy rain expecting to find a mudbath but the grass was in fantastic condition
Cons :
We really didn't like the walled in feeling ,we did think it felt a little like camping within a prison ,although I'm sure it would appeal to many
The pitches were far too close together ,it felt really squished in and on top of each other ,dont think it was just with it being a BH w/e either as the pitch numbers were in a permanent position
The family bathroom whilst in theory is a fab idea ,in practice though it contained the one and only disabled loo ,so if there were a large family using it and you're disabled and need the loo ,you have to wait a long time!
The road alongside could get rather noisy at night

Just returned from this site and had a great time.
Firstly must once again praise Jane, the manager. She could not of been more helpful, putting up with the kids taking for ever to choose what to buy in the shop, giving us info and maps about where to go for a walk and recommending lovely places to eat (even ringing to book a table for us)
The site itself is lovely if your after a quiet get away. We were camping, but in the main site, not the camping field as we wanted an electric hook up (psp's need charging!) The pitches were more than big enough for our 4 man tunnel tent, a small 2 man dome tent and our car without being on top of the neighbours. Despite it being the holidays the site wasn't too crowded and there weren't any over noisy groups. If you just want a quiet spot to unwind without onsite clubs, bar, pool etc. Then this is the place for you.
Onto facilities.
The toilets were always clean and stocked with toilet roll/soap/shower gel etc. And the showers lovely and hot power showers, they even have a family bathroom with a bath if required. Despite only having 3 showers in the male and 3 female I only ever had to wait about 3 minutes once, bear in mind this was August, not too bad.
Other than that there is a small games/tv room with table tennis, pool, table football & a couple of games machines next to a play area with a couple of swings and climbing frame. Some might say it wasn't enough but our kids (9,10 & 12) found it ok and they soon made enough friends and went to play on the huge games field which is only about 75 metres away.
Finally the small on site shop is well stocked with the essentials inc. Small toys, games and cheap sweets for the children, various tinned and packet foods and some lovely home made cakes etc. And locally sourced frozen foods inc. BBQ packs.
So to sum up, I would not hesitate to recommend this site if your after a clean, tidy spot to chill out in a nice rural spot away from it all (but near enough to the pub if you desire!) and with a great and helpful manager. We would certainly use it again if in the area in the future.

Amazing! We thought it was fab when we visited last august, but it was even better this time! The family bathroom was lovely and a warm bath at the end of a very wet day was just what you needed. The showers were very powerful and hot - made ours at home look pathetic!
Jayne the manager is an absolute dream, nothing is ever too much trouble and she has the patience of a saint with the children in the shop spending their money. Once again the kids had a great time in the games room.
We didnt have the best weather, 2 very wet days but the site didnt get muddy and soggy. We stayed for a week and after the weekenders had gone home, we virtually had the site to ourselves, very very quiet and very relaxing. Already booked to go back in August!
We visited Flamborough lighthouse - it was great as you were able to climb to the top and the kids found out loads of interesting facts that they cant wait to share with their teachers and friends when they go back to school.

This is a lovely campsite. Everything about it.
The toilets are immaculate, Jayne, the owner is very friendly and helpful.
There is a large playing field for the children and it is great as a 'base' camp as it is so close to Bridlington centre and other things to do.
We have 3 girls, ages 2, 8 and 12 and there was plenty to do. We were there a week and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Lovely site - clean washing areas, always hot water, laundry room, family bathroom, games room, games field, good shop, and loads of birdlife. Geese, goslings, ducks, duckling, wagtails plus all the usual suspects were plentiful around the site. We even saw an owl in the late afternoon. The dawn chorus was something else.!
Jayne the manager, as previously mentioned, is very helpful and I can confirm that she is a good first aider, dealing ably with my husband who knocked himself out on the roof of the campervan!
We camped with friends on pitches next to each other in the central area. We had plenty of room for the vango 800, campervan and our friends had loads of room for their 6 man tent.
The children (13, two 8 year olds and an 18 monther) were never bored.
It's a quick drive into Bridlington where you can get everything you need.
Our trip was made by seeing David Hockney painting a huge canvas on the way towards Bridlington. If only I had realised it was him at the time.

One of the best sites we have stayed on in a long while. The pitch was a good size for our Montana 6. The site is in an old walled garden and is very sheltered. The television ariel was good. You can even order newspapers - saves a drive to nearest shop! The site is a short drive away from a large supermarket, though you could buy most things from the onsite shop if needed. The local pub in the village did a good carvery on the Sunday. Noise at night was not an issue, the site was quiet from about 22.30 hours.
The toilet/shower block was clean and a mop, bucket and brush was provided to clean any wet grass etc off the shower floor if needed. Toilets were closed mid afternoon for cleaning but the family bathroom/shower room was open at this time for emergency use. We never had to queue for a shower even though we were there over a bank holiday. Our children were never bored - they played on the large field and went on the pool and table tennis table. The tv room was also good. They made lots of friends.
We would recommend this site to everyone and enjoyed it so much we have booked to return in July. It is an ideal base to tour the surrounding coastal areas. Well done Jayne (manager) for providing and maintaining such a beautiful little camp site. Camping as it should be!

We have just had a lovely weekend on this site.
Well set out site with large pitches all contained in a walled garden. Excellent toilet/shower block that were spotless, only three showers in both mens and womens so had to wait occasionally but well worth the wait as they were lovely and warm. Also have a family/disabled bathroom. They have a room with washer and dryers plus ironing boards and iron. The reception also has a small shop in with all the basics. Small games /tv room with table tennis, pool, table football and a couple of arcade machines. Large playing field plus own fishing lake.
Some lovely walks from the site and only 4 miles from Bridlington. Must also mention Jayne the manager as she is so friendly and helpful. Nearest pub is in the village of Rudston and serves meals. A must is a visit to the churchyard to see the monolith. All in all a great site and we shall be using again.

What a great find! Visited August bank holiday and although the site was full it didn't seem too busy. Jayne the manager is very helpful and will do anything she can to make your stay perfect. The kids had a whale of a time in the games field and in the games room. The pool table was a huge hit at 30p a go! The only downside we could find was the queue for the showers but we expected it anyway with it being bank holiday and the wait was worth it as the showers were hot and very powerful. We are planning to return at Easter and next August - the kids cant wait and neither can we!
