After a 3 year break from camping we returned to Thorpe Hall with 2 teenagers and a dog. We were delighted to find that the facilities were as clean as always, management as friendly and helpful as ever and the starry skies as mesmerising as always on a clear night. Look out for the shooting star showers at certain times of the year.
The new proprietor of the Bosville Arms in the village was awaiting his licence and therefore wasn't open so we went to the Bay Horse in Kilham and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The dog was welcome in the bar area.
We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the start to our camping season. We were in a campervan with an awning.

We stayed here last weekend and we loved it! We are fairly novice campers with no hook up, up till now, so we were in the tent field, on our own which was lovely.
The manager could not have been nicer. So friendly and helpful, even ordering our paper for us and taking time to explain the local walks. We did the one up round the woods along the old roman road and even saw a couple of deer!
We have 4 dogs, there are lots of dog owners and the site is very friendly towards them, with their own dog walk.
We were very pleased to find heated, spotless toilet and shower facilities with plenty of hot water, although watch out if you hear a toilet flush as the temperature may increase sharply! Great covered pot washing area, laundrette etc.
Brid 4 miles. Worth noting there is a petrol station on edge of town open 24 hrs.
An absolutely beautiful place to stay, in the old walled garden, if like us you like to walk or just have peace. So good infact, we hope to be back there next weekend, however this time we have our nice new tent and electric hook up !
Strongly recommended.

Very good campsite. Facilities were in excellent order and the walled grounds well maintained. Got quite busy when we were there, but plenty of toilets and showers. Close to Bridlington and Scarborough, and plenty of local places of interest to visit.
We found the pitch fees a little expensive, but on the whole were pleased with the 2 weeks we spent there.
Fishing lake close at hand but pegs were unkempt and difficult to get to as they were a little overgrown. Good fishing though and my husband caught plenty!

Lovely site, lovely friendly proprietors, the shop is well stocked for provisions nothing is too much trouble. The downside if you like your t. V. Then there can be problems, on arrival you are given an aerial that goes next to your hook up, we tried 7 before we found one that worked, then only had bbc 1 and 2 as evening came and the sun went down we got other channels but a bit faded. I suggest you take a booster with you. The toilets and showers are well kept and a free hairdryer which is a bonus. A lot of tents on site, but still nice and quiet. If you want more peace then ask for a pitch in the paddock, this is further away from the facilities but quieter as families tend to satay in the main area. I will certainly come back to this site, and would highly recommend it. Beware some pitches are not flat. If you are a couple you get a discount, family prices are a lot higher but worth it.

From start to finish this was a great campsite. We were put in the quieter field due to having a small lady with us. The play area was great and the shower block was second to none.
Really pleased with this campsite and hope to visit it again.
Only downfall is the lady in the shops directions but we found were we wanted after stopping to ask someone more local.
The family bath rooms have a bath and shower so we managed to bathe our daughter and she loved it.

Just returned from a 4 day holiday of which the nice weather played a major part.
We have visited this site once before and as per our first visit the facilities are very clean. The only problem I could foresee is the fact there are only 3 showers in both the Ladies and Gents toilets (Although we never saw them full). The pot washing area is really good and there is always plenty of hot water.
The pitches are generally level and clearly laid out. Some may be a little tight for larger units.
The wardens are very friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The Wifi costs £10 for a 3 day pass and coverage is very good.
This site is superbly placed for touring Bridlington and surrounding areas.

Stayed here for a week. Lovely clean well maintained site. There are plenty of toilets which are a good size and very clean, the showers are brilliant with great water pressure and there are also separate wash cubicles. There is a separate washroom which contains a bath, shower, toilet and sink for use by disabled or families. There is a separate laundry. The pitches have electric and individual aerial sockets for TV's. I believe you can pay for WIFI, but we didn't want this. The road at the side can be a little noisy particularly with bikes, but, after being there a half hour we never noticed it, and it wasn't constant. Most of the pitches are flat, but some are sloped, so, if it is important to you to have a flat site, ask when you book. There are pitches that are in the full sun for most of the day, and others in the shade, so again, ask for what you want when you book. There is a shop on site which stocks most things, and you can order papers. There is a separate tent pitch and a good size dog walk leading to the fishing lake. There is a games room and small play area, but I can't say whether these are adequate or not as we did not have children with us. It is only a short drive to supermarkets, and also to East coast beaches. This was a lovely site and we will definitely be going again.

A top class campsite, spotlessly clean and with VERY up-to-date facilities. Perfect toilet-block with free hot showers and a laundry that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Flat, grassy pitches with easy access to ehu, water and waste water. Very quiet place. Good for dog walking, a field was nearby outside the camp entrance. For TV-fans a connection cable for the amplified digital signal was offered at no cost by the nice warden. Unfortunately there was no 3G internet connection on the spot and the price for the private WiFi was quite high (£ 7. -/day). But that was the only (very small) disadvantage beside a nice but short overnight visit. The off season price for a camper and two persons £17. 50 was very reasonable.

Lovely peaceful quiet site with its own driveway.
The toilets and shower facilities are top class, no push button showers here. The toilets are clean and warm and there are plenty for the size of the site. There are four washing up sinks which are outside under a canopy, the water is red hot.
The site has pitches around the outside and then some in the middle. The pitches are a good size and sheltered from the wind by a high wall that surrounds most of the site.
There is a play room for the kids with pool, table tennis, games machine and a tv, sadly there is no remote.
The shop on sites sells the usual, bread, milk, meat, etc as is adequate if you run out of anything. You can order a paper in the morning.
The staff are very friendly and always happy to help.
The fishing lake is a fair walk away and you would probably have to take your car.
There are some lovely walks around the site.
We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.
If you like peace and quiet with good facilities this is the site for you.

Just spent Easter weekend at this site in our tent. It was actually snowing when we pitched but we didn't let that put us off !
The site is beautiful, picturesque, quiet and very well maintained. The showers and toilet facilities are the best we have used and immaculately clean and very warm. There is free use of a hair dryer in the toilet block and we never queued for showers.
We have a dog and the walking area was good although it would have been nice to be able to walk down to the fishing lake with the dog but they weren't allowed. The site is ideal to get to Bridlington, Filey, Flamborough etc. but a car is necessary. There are no pubs near but we found one in Burton Fleming (5 minutes by car) called The Burton Arms - excellent food & very reasonably priced. Dogs were welcome in the Bar area.
The shop on site was good, selling bare essentials and some excellent locally made Egg Custards and Bakewell Tarts, the staff were very helpful and polite. There was a games room for the children and a small play area on site and a larger field for ball games etc just around the corner.
We will definitely return to this site in the near future.
Only one very minor point - we paid for wifi so that we could watch Netflix on an evening but the signal was too poor to download - also only one device could be linked up to the Internet at a time.
Overall an excellent site & would highly recommend.
