Small quiet & generally peaceful site, shower/toilet block very clean warm and good quality. Jayne in reception always helpful. Pitches generous no problem with our large tent. Playing field large and well kept great for all ball games. Only real disappointment were the 'play park' which really really needs updating and games room which also needs abit of an update. Don't let that put you off though it is a nice site and we would definitely go back

Well at the risk of constantly repeating myself we had a wonderful weekend in June here. It was my 40th and a group of 6 families with 12 children ranging from 2 to 14 came to mark the occasion.
Plenty of hot water, everything neat and clean, Jayne helpful and friendly as usual.
Unbeknown to us some of our children were causing a disturbance in the evening by running around the block which made the wooden ramp vibrate and disturbed campers near it (sorry campers!). This was dealt with quickly and without fuss.
We had a brilliant game of rounders on the excellent, roomy games field in the evening
We had 3 families who hadn't been to the site before and all said they can't wait to go there again.
Thank you for a lovely birthday.

A fabulous site, the best we've stayed at! We had a tent pitch with electric hook up - excellent value for money, plenty of room between us and the neighbours. First class facilities, super clean toilets, showers and washing up area. A very, very quiet site which was lovely but with a 5 year old we did feel like we were disturbing the peace once or twice, but the games field is a great idea - plenty of room for the little ones to run round and burn off some steam away from the main area. Great management team on site very quick to address any issues (a broken shower in the ladies was repaired within a couple of hours). The best eggs we've eaten in a long time purchased from the shop which had all the necessities we had forgotten (washing up liquid) and some treats for the kids. All in all a lovely stay even though the weather was rubbish!

After reading the reviews for Thorpe hall on this site I felt I had to give it a try. I have to say that I am very pleased I did. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by Jayne. The pitches were clearly marked and very large about 12 yards across and deeper than you need. The site was very quiet hardly any noise at all, which was what we were after, after a sleepless stay at Blue Dolphin last month. The toilets and showers were as good as I have seen. I will definitely visit again. Will be taking my fishing kit next time, the lake was small but was quiet and had some nice little pegs, so worth a try. I will sum up by saying if you want Blackpool then this is not for you, but if rest and relaxation are more your bag then you won't be disappointed.

Lovely stay again - this was the first time we stayed in the Paddock which is the furthest away form the facilities but it's hardly a trek - not even a minute's walk I would say.
Jayne as helpful and friendly as ever. She had to be up late one night when some rowdies pitched up and she moved them on as it is a quiet site where consideration to fellow campers is required.
All washing facilities clean, hot water plentiful.

Just spent the most pleasant two days at Thorpe Hall. We found the site by chance and I'm so glad we did, I think we shall return again and again. The site comprises two parts, a tent field outside the Georgian walls and an electric hook up area within the walls. The shower block, washing facilities (Inc laundry) were located within the walled area, but this was literally over the wall from the tent field so there was no long walks involved. We were lucky enough to be the only tent in the tent field for one night at least. It was very peaceful, the facilities were superb, very clean and lot's of hot water! The wildlife was amazing, we awoke to a chorus of birds and frogs, heard a woodpecker and saw two weasels run over the field. Will definitely return .

Just got back from 2 nights at Thorpe Hall. Was very surprised how quiet it was - hardly anyone there - only us and one other tent, the rest in caravans.
Site is lovely and peaceful, even though close to road there was hardly any noise. Toilets / washing up really good, showers amazing. Everywhere really clean. Staff really friendly - would definitely go again. Saw some great wildlife including a pair of woodpeckers.
Very handy for Bridlington or Scarborough if you want the coast, or inland try Thornton-le-Dale for a lovely walk.

What a nice site visited over Easter weekend although weather was not great and very cold. The site itself is set in an old walled garden but the tent field is outside the walls and is a distance from the toilet/shower block. The toilet/shower block were kept lovley and clean with a plenty full supply of hot water (the best showers I've been in on a site).
There is a small play area for the kids and a games room/tv which was ok.
The site manager (Jayne) was very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble even ordering the papers for us.
In brief a wonderful site and have already booked to go again.

We have visited this site three times. It is always clean and the shower block and washing up facilities were well cared for. The caravan site looked nicer than the camping field, which can be a bit stony. We liked being in the shelter of the wall but it was a bit of a trek from there to the loo during the night.
The games room and TV room were a bit run down and the climbing frame not particularly inspiring. The TV was high on the wall and the chairs hard and uncomfortable.
On our last visit two very noisy families were talking loudly until 11.30 pm. Someone had obviously complained but the message we got was that it was OK until 11.30. If you like peace and quiet before that be warned. They were also early risers so we didn't get much sleep!
We didn't find the staff particularly helpful or friendly.
For our two small tents we had to have two pitches, whereas on some sites we have been charged for one pitch and allowed to put both tents on.
We would use the site again as it is convenient for Bridlington, but the period we wanted this year has a minimum number of nights.

On our second visit to this lovely site, we managed to choose the best week of the summer hols and didn't see a spot of rain! even though it had rained persistently over the previous weeks, the ground was well drained and the grass well cut.
Showers, washing up area etc all plentiful hot water.
We used the laundry facilities at the site this time which were excellent & essential after the family had been on the log flume and other wet things at Flamingo Land.
Again, Jayne was fabulous with our children, answering football questions and showing infinite patience.
The games room had a new game so plenty of 50ps were required by the children. The children had some problems with 1 family having the tv on so loud that they couldn't talk to each other in there and when they asked them to turn it down, they turned it up! However, this is what can happen when holidaying with shared facilities and isn't a reflection on the campsite.
Neither can they help the fact that everyone cut right across our pitch, day and night, which was right next to the men's loos.
The children and I walked down to the Bosville Arms in Rudston. It's a lovely pub and there is a small shop there too. They have a play area with a trampoline, climbing frame etc.
We went back to tea there and had a lovely meal. The only disappointing thing was the Bosville burger was not homemade (it didn't claim it was) and was not good. However, the roasts (beef and pork), the pate, the garlic bread and the tempura veg plus cheesecake and syrup pud were lovely and the staff are all incredibly nice. They do take cards as well as cash. I would book a table if you want to eat there.
Another very enjoyable stay.
