This site is amazing. It is in a great location and very well kept. We had a brilliant bank holiday weekend here. The pitch was good and level, the shower block always clean with plenty of hot water. Jayne is so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for her. On a very windy bank holiday Sunday she was out and about helping everyone as tents and awnings collapsed in the wind. Lovely walk to the village. The site has wi fi which is an added bonus.
There is not a bad thing I can say about Thorpe Hall. Will definitely be going back.

Very nice site, as mentioned Jane the manageress is very friendly and welcoming. The tents are in a separate field to the caravans with well marked pitches.
It's a good place for visiting both Bridlington and Scarborough, Brids 5 mins away in a car and Scarborough about 25 minutes. I would definitely recommend eating in the Boswell Arms down in the village which offered good quality food (the liver & onions were exceptional) at a sensible price.
The toilet and shower facilities are modern and clean and we did not have to queue.

Have just spent three nights at Thorpe Hall. We first visited the site several years ago as 'new' campers and returned for a last time before retiring the tent.
Very little has changed about the site. The games room and children's play area still look a little sad and dated but this did not stop the enjoyment of the children. Our teenager went to look at the TV but said it was stuck on BBC1 and he couldn't see any means of changing channel. Good news then, because he had to manage without it!
They have WiFi now, which is charged for, but we camp to get away from that sort of thing so didn't try it.
The facilities are good, but a campsite is only as good as the campers who use it and there were lots of bits of loo roll left on the floor in the ladies which made it look scruffy. The showers were pretty good (not the dribble you get on some campsites) and a hairdryer is provided in the ladies. Also plenty of loo roll and soap in dispensers.
We were in the tent field and had asked for a big pitch. We had plenty of room for our 8 man tent and people carrier. Last time we went we had two small tents and had to pay for two pitches, but we noticed that there were two tents on some pitches so perhaps the rules have changed.
The shop was shut when we arrived but a notice on the door told new arrivals which pitch they had been allocated so we just found ours and pitched and paid up later.
The caravan field looked very crowded with tents, vans and trailer tents all in together, presumably to take advantage of electric hook up. Although we were a little further from the facilities we thought the tent field a much better option, with more space.
We had a tame hen foraging round our tent. We managed to ignore it!
The shop on site has all sorts of basics. They refreeze ice packs at 20p a block. You can also get Calor Gas at a reasonable price. Ours ran out on the last morning and as it was raining we went for breakfast at Morrisons in Bridlington.
The site is convenient for Bridlington.Brid is undergoing a bit of refurbishment and there is a new Park and Ride which for £3.50 a day included a return trip on the land train which was very good value for money, as we would have paid more for the land train alone.
We also visited Flamingo Land. We have never been there before because the name put us off a bit, but it turned out to have some very good rides and something for all age groups.
Like a previous reviewer we went to the Star at Kilham for a meal which was good and very reasonably priced.
This was mostly a quiet site, although on our last morning some noisy newcomers woke us up at 6am.
On previous visits we had been further into the camping field and had never noticed before how busy the road outside is.
On the whole this is a good site and a lot less commercial than other sites around Bridligton.

Just got back from a one quick trip to this site. Only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Gorgeous site with great facilities. Spotlessly clean with plenty of toilets and showers, even a disabled/family bathroom which was great for our baby. Although our babe is a bit young there is both ab out door playground and an indoor games and tv room.
Jayne was very welcoming and the shop was well stocked although only open at certain times. Seemed a little pricey at first but realised it was well worth it and it is peak season!
Short walk into rudston which has a pub and a very impressive ancient monolith but not a lot else really but not far from brid.
Would definitely recommend and will return for a bit longer next time.

We went to thorpe hall for the first time last year in July and was so impressed by the site and surrounding area we are returning at the end of this week for another holiday. If you like quite campsites that are superbly clean and maintained and also enjoy local walks with good wildlife this is the site for you. The manager cannot do enough for you as long as your well behaved she does not tolerate other campers being disturbed by idiots and in this day and age that's great.
The area in general is within easy reach of lots of places and is ideally suited if you planning a day or two at bempton cliffs to watch the largest seabird colony in the uk. Fabulous. a great site and also reasonable pricing in the whole region. What more could you want

Jayne the manageress was fantastic, she kept unruly people in order when required, she has a vast knowledge of the local area including local pubs (The Old Star at Kilham) where the food was great and they were dog friendly too.
The site is very clean, toilets were spotless and showers were great. Games room was good including table tennis (free if you have your own equipment, or it can be borrowed from the shop) pool and table football.
Small shop on site was adequate for essentials but the local shops, supermarkets and beaches are only 5-10 mins away at Bridlington.
Large games field for ball games, kite flying etc
No ball games round the pitches allowed which was good as it kept the site peaceful.
Fishing was ok but needed some attention as the pegs were not the most accessible, but you will catch fish-some upto 9 + 10lb were caught in the week we were there.
All in all a great site if you want peace and relaxation

First time using our trailer tent when we stayed at this site which we found to be very good. Apparently it is an old vegetable pitch which has been converted for camping. It has a walled area next to a busy main road but we didn't even notice the noise!
Pitches are clearly marked for your convenience. Good facilities ie. Electric hookup and tv aerial. Clean showers with soap dispensers in each cubicle for your convenience. Good value for money.
Whilst there we travelled to car boot sales on a Sunday close to Bridlington (skipsea I think) which was fantastic and picked up quite a few bargains for camping.
Found a good pub about 1/2 mile down the road called Bosville Inn which done a great carvery with a great choice of meats at a very reasonable price.
Definitely go again, just not on a Friday evening on a bank holiday weekend

Just returned from our second visit so far this year. Bank holiday week so we expected it to be busy but even with our large tent we had plenty of space and room to park the car next to the tent.
A well maintained site with excellent shower / toilet block. Very large playing field for the kids to let off steam and kick a ball etc. So kicking a ball where the tents and caravans are is not allowed. Although some people believe they pay their fee and then own the place. Some noisy campers especially where two or 3 sets of families get together but to be fair quiet by 10. 30 for all of the 6 nights we where there.
Jayne who runs the site had to tell a few people off for playing sports in the camping area and also some silly people (polite) for leaving their dogs howling in the tent alone at night while they went off site.
Prefer the site when not as full but hey ho we where lucky to get in over the Bank Hol so not complaining and we will be back probably within the next couple of weeks.
All in all an excellent site.

We first went to Thorpe Hall about 14 years ago when we first started camping (£6 a night!) and visited a number of times.
After a break from camping of about 6 years we decided to revisit for our daughter's first camping trip.
The site is still well managed and Jayne even remembered us.
There's a good village pub 5 minutes walk away with others in the surrounding villages and while only a 10 minute drive from busy Bridlington once at the site you are in a quiet corner of the Yorkshire Wolds.
Phone coverage does depend on your network and phone - we had no trouble making or receiving calls.

This was our first camping trip for 16 years and we couldn't have chosen a better site.
The site manageress - Jayne - was incredibly helpful from the first enquiry by email and called us back quickly so we could make our booking.
The site is very clean and well kept. The grass was mown regularly and the toilets and showers were warm and clean too with a mop and squeegee so you could clean up after use. The toilets were clean and always well stocked with toilet paper.
We didn't use the TV and games room or the play area but had a walk to the fishing lake, seeing a deer on our way back and lots of geese and goslings.
There were many friendly blackbirds and ducks ready to see if you had any bread for them.
The pitches were a decent size and well marked out. We stayed in the walled garden which was sheltered during a very windy weekend.
The small shop was well-stocked with essentials and there are a couple of supermarkets within easy reach.
All in all a great introduction back to camping and we plan on visiting again in the near future.
