We had a lovely relaxing stay at Sandringham. I love the way the campsite isn't set out in a uniform way (rows of caravans) I liked the haphazard nature that the caravans and tents are pitched, to miss the abundance of trees. Lovely smell of pine.

The campers were all exceptionally well behaved and polite, plenty of children but not much noise. We have 2 youngsters ourselves and they soon made friends.

Showers and toilets were great. Shop is well stocked. The surrounding area is very pretty. On the scissor road to Wolferton, make sure you stop at Dersingham Bog. We were really surprised with the fantastic views over the Wash.

A lovely stay.

A large site very clean toilets as expected with CCC. We were given a choice of pitches and selected one near to the toilets. It's a lovely location in reach of many holiday resorts/ Saying that buying your food out tends to be expensive as is car parking in places like Hunstanton. A pub is nearby which serves food.

There is a shop on site and a chip van comes around on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you are into cycling I reckon this is a good site for you. We enjoyed our stay and maybe will return.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Sandringham and can confirm what everyone else is saying.

This is a nice site with very helpful staff.

The site is large but very well designed so as to feel smaller than it is. Yes the fir cones are all over the place and the rotten pigeons are everywhere and so tame that they will even walk into your tent if you let them. But face it if you camp in a conifer wood then how can you expect anything else!

We were not under the trees so didn't get any 'gifts' but I imagine others were not so lucky.

The shower blocks were maintained in very good condition and we never had to queue [well the gents didn't, my wife says the ladies were queuing].

The laundry room at the block nearest us had a commercial washer dryer that cost £3. 50 per load and £1 for 20mins drying time.

We used this site as a base for touring around the local area and found it to be well placed for Kings Lynn [ The town centre a pleasant surpise, with some good shops] and Hunstanton, [a typical nice seaside town].

The site did get full but never felt over crowded and was very quiet at night.

We enjoyed our time here, a good site.

We had a lovely stay in this tranquil and beautiful site. The pitches felt spacious and there are lots of trees as well as more open pitches.

We were offered a choice of pitches on arrival and were very pleased with our level even if fir-coned pitch!

We were fortunate enough to have caravans on either side of us, which meant it was a little quieter in the tent and I did not mind when the children got up a bit earlier than the other campers!

There are two basic children's playgrounds and they were fairly busy most of the time. The site is large but easy to navigate and the off-site shop serving this and the caravan site is fantastic and not too overpriced for the basics. They also have a good selection of camping and caravanning gear there too and definitely the cheapest ice creams around!

The facilities were spotless although we found the showers a little temperamental - sometimes very hot and at other times only just hot enough. Wardens seemed to check the wash areas regularly.

There is a lot of wildlife around the campsite - the children enjoyed seeing the rabbits and we found a large frog under our tent when we took it down. Our electric hook up lead, however, has been nibbled by some animal or other during the night which is a little irritating.

We do not have space for bikes but I would say that the area is perfect for cyclists and dog walkers. The dog walk itself is clean and better than others we have seen. Sandringham House is not far - it took us about forty minutes with the children. It was closed but fortunately there was a fabulous flower show on which we visited and glimpsed the house and gardens. Even when closed there is a small play area and lovely trails to follow near to the visitor centre.

Hunstanton is not too far and has a Tesco and Sainsburys. We visited the Sea Life Centre and ate out on two occasions there. Kings Lynn was lovely too and we enjoyed our day there and visited the Gaol house and picknicked by the river which was good. Kings Lynn has a good Morrisons and we even had a meal in there one evening for about £9 - the kids' meals were free.

As NT members we ventured to Oxburgh Hall and were not disappointed - our children really enjoyed it too and we were lucky enough to be entertained by the brass band.

We swam in the Oasis pool in Hunstanton which the children loved - a nice gentle flume and not too busy on the Friday we visited.

We visited Heacham (static caravan city) and Hunstanton beaches but above all we preferred Brancaster beach - about 25 minutes from the campsite which was lovely - lots of sand at low tide as there is all around that part of the coast but clean and peaceful and away from all the other rides and attractions at Hunstanton. We would have loved time for another visit there.

All in all a really great, even if cloud-covered, stay. My only gripe is that the charge for children seems excessive compared to other sites and it makes for a more expensive week away. This may put us off returning in the near future although we did have a lovely time.

This is a spacious site with modern, very clean facilities, and when one toilet block is closed for cleaning the other two remain open. The dishwashing area is locked at 9. 30pm until 07. 30am. The pitches are dispersed amongst the trees & where we stayed they provided good shade. The reception staff are friendly and a warden on a cycle accompanies each new arrival to a pitch, to position & ensure the 6 metre gap is complied with.

The only comment on this is that the pitches are not offset from the front and back rows so if pitched on the back row you are looking directly at the rear of the unit in front, and there is no flexibility on this, so if in a tent you can not choose the most level area on your pitch space as the pitch number marker has to be at the centre of your unit or so we were told by the warden at our pitch.

There is a small shop on site stocked with a basic selection of groceries, papers etc.

Dersingham is approx 2 miles from the site. In this village is a Budgeons & Spa super market, also a very nice coffee shop (at the garden centre)which serve good, reasonably priced meals.

This is a very large site set in woodland on the Sandringham Estate and comprises three large areas in which to pitch a unit.

Accessing the location of the site is not straightforward if you are travelling North on the A149 from Kings Lynn as we were. Don’t turn off right onto the B1439 for West Newton as the ‘brown’ sign is for the Caravan Club site. But if you do, the access to the Camping and Caravanning Club Site further on is not sign-posted but it's the second left-hand junction. It’s also a terribly uneven and rutted road. If you should find yourself on this road, turn left opposite the two Lodges and then immediately left again at the discreet fingerpost. If you go into West Newton, you've gone too far.

I would recommend staying on the A149 towards Hunstanton, past the turn off for West Newton, and take the next available right hand turn (early warning ‘brown’ sign for Sandringham). This is a more direct route and also the road has been resurfaced. At the junction before the two Lodges, turn right and then first left at the very small Camping and Caravanning Club fingerpost.

If you are travelling South from Hunstanton, there is the correct ‘brown’ sign for Tents and Caravans which alerts you to the same turn off as above and is straightforward. I don’t understand why the same signage doesn’t appear when travelling North on the A149.

As for the site itself, welcome on arrival was first rate. We were allowed to choose where to pitch. We had two units, a motorhome and a tent and we had pitches with electric hook-up facing each other.

The site is big. Each of the three areas has its own toilet/shower block. However, not all have the same facilities. They all have toilets/showers/wash area but not all have chemical disposal or outside rotary clothes lines.

Facilities in our area, at the end of the site, were well-looked after and clean. However, of the seven washbasin cubicles, three were permanently locked. There appeared to be no reason for them being locked and I didn’t see any notices explaining why they were locked. This was irritating as it meant having to queue for the remaining four.

If your unit is a tent, make sure you completely clear your pitch of fir cones as the grass areas are littered with them. Also, if you don’t like wood pigeons, which are in abundance, and they do commence a collective dawn chorus as soon as daylight appears, best not pitch near the fenced-off woodland.

Overall, a very good site.

This is a large site but very well laid out. The toilets are always kept clean toilets as you expect with CCC. We were given a choice of pitches and selected one in a secluded position but near enough to the toilets.

We had a wonderful stay at this site, husband and I and the dog in our nevada tent. The pitch was generously large and sheltered under trees ( bring a broom for pine cones ! ) The electric hook up was easy and made the cold nights warmer.

The shower blocks were excellent and spotless every time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shop was in one far corner of the site, and had gifts in addition to food and supplies.

The site is fenced and surrounded by pine and mixed fern bracken woodland with a well worn footpath around the perimetre accessed by 3 equally spaced dog gates with poop bins. On hot days they offered shade, and cold windy days they were sheltered and warmer.

It took about 30mins to stroll around the perimeter, or longer by heading out further as you go around, sometimes I did one gate to the next for a quick dog walk. The trees have a healthy supply of wood pigeons, which make a repetitive noise but we decided to enjoy them, they are fascinating to watch if you feed them close, and we named our regular visitor Bernard.

Cycling is restricted to inner dirt roads inside the campsite or tarmac only outside. I was disappointed at first because I love to cycle in the woods with the dog, but we did find good options for us. The surrounding small roads are so quiet and well maintained anyway, and most have grass verges so I kept him on the lead when using the bike and it was almost as nice. It was an easy 15mins cycle from the campsite to sandringham house where there is plenty of open lawns and woods to walk in sight of the entrance, and you can go in the gift shop, plant shop and tea room/garden without paying to go in the house, it all faces front so I could park the bike and dog, get a cuppa and come out and sit in the bench areas with it. We never made it into the house but it looks like it'd be fantastic

We will definitely go back one day, the other campers were so friendly, especially the lovely couple from Greenwich who made us a cup of tea on arrival, so kind and so welcome! We returned the favour to another lovely couple who pitched their caravan opposite a few days later.

There were very few children during our stay because schools had not broken up yet, and it was blissfully quiet ( no offence - we love children ) there were more dog owners who I found to be excellent pitch neighbours and well in control of their lovely dogs.

We found a beautiful spot great for walking dogs called Dersingham Bog, which is sandy or wooded heath with great views until you walk down into the centre to the board walk bog. Its located just a mile away in the village of Wolferton, and has free open air parking in a long single row( no height restriction barriers so good for campervans to park) the sign post on the car park is ' Wolferton car park '

Also in wolferton village 300 yards further along is the Royal railway station which is very picturesque and well worth a photo or two.

For evening meals we had a brilliant fish and chips meal at The Mariners Inn in Old Hunstanton, which is large and smart but still full of character, worth the 30 mins drive away. We walked the dog on the beach first which is beautiful gold sand and shallow tide waters with great sunset views, just watch for broken razor clam shells, which wash up in small lines here and there. We drove back via the sea side town of Hunstanton which was a bit neon kiss me quick, great if you have teenagers or fancy a recaptured youth!

We finished with Pensthorpe Bird reserve and gardens, if you like birds you wont be disappointed, even I was blown away by the how many species and how tame / close they were, and I could've spent a fortune in the beautiful shop / cafe etc.

Overall we really enjoyed Norfolk and Sandringham camp site, I thought its worth the slightly extra money, it feels even nicer than the photos.

As we arrived, we pulled up in the waiting layby and reported to the reception.

Up rides a man on a bike and asks us what type of pitch we require, open field, forest location, close to toilets, away from toilets?

Having a dog with us, we chose to be near the forest and not too far from the toilets / showers.

We followed the man (Stephen) on his bike to an area that was ideal, with a small copse of trees behind us and close to the forest area to the front. Drinking water, dirty water and bins were not too far away (in a wooden stockade).

I would recommend taking a 25m EHU lead, my 10m lead was not long enough to reach the electric post. We were told you could hire one from reception (£35.00 with £30.00 returned when lead is returned), so £5.00 for 8 days is good value.

The dog walking area through the forest was perfect, with rabbits and monkjack deer being spotted on several occasions. Gates to the dog walking area in the forest were scattered around the edges of the site, and each gate had a red dog waste bin next to it. The only problem seemed to be that some dog owners saw the dog walk area as a doggy toilet and didn't clean up after their pooches. Quite a lot of dog mess on and around the forest paths.

Each pitch area had a toilet / shower / laundry and dish washing area and they were closed as posted times of the day for cleaning on a rota. The toilets / showers always seemed to be clean, no matter what time of day or night a visit was required. I found all the staff very helpful, and little things like the 'thought of the day' blackboard brought another smile to the happy campers.

Lots of nice walks in the area, and Sandringham House is a short walk away. The little site shop was well stocked with everything you could need. The pitch was a large pitch, with ample room for caravan, awning / gazebo and car parking.

There is a pub within walking distance of the site (although we didn't see it until we drove past it on the way home).

A good location for Hunstanton and local attractions like the RSPB bird watching areas and Norfolk Lavendar at Heacham.

A very friendly and clean site.

Lots of little touches, like the guys escorting campers to their pitch and the knowledge of the local area from the staff, made this all the better.

This will be on our top choice sites list for future visits to the area.

Lovely well spaced out site. Well staffed and friendly. The fees are on the high side but you get very clean modern facilities for that.

It does get busy when full so be prepared to queue, even for toilets, at peak times. Camp shop nearby is expensive and unimaginative and there are very few local stores so bring your own supplies is my advice.

Sandringham gardens are well worth a visit. Local area is great for cycling.
