We visited in the school summer holidays and also discovered that our visit included the Sandringham Flower Show which is a big event in its own right. The site was therefore very busy but the layout spreads people out nicely amongst the trees and between 3 toilet blocks. There is a good little site shop for bread, milk, papers to order etc but plenty of supermarkets in Kings Lynn and Hunstanton. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Wifi worked well on our pitch. EE mobile signal very weak. The fish and chip van (Tues, Thurs & Sat in the week we visited) was very popular!
The toilet blocks were clean and the ladies certainly always contained fresh flowers. Apparently the gents had one shower out of order which meant queues at busy times. There is a small play area and good fun to be had collecting buckets of pine cones for the site staff in return for a reward of a small chocolate bar.
The trees offer plenty of shelter but also provide home to hundreds of wood pigeons - you have been warned.
You can walk around the estate on miles of footpaths and visit the cafe/gift shop/church for free. You pay for the house and formal gardens - we didn't bother so can't comment on those.
One local quirky attraction is climbing the wind turbine at Swaffham - great fun and very interesting, apparently the only one in the world with a visitor viewing platform - but check details beforehand as age/height/health restrictions apply. For a less energetic option try the Norfolk Lavender fields on the main road to Hunstanton or the boat trips to see the seals from Morston harbour.

Lovely site. The showers need up dating, especially compared to West Runton. One problem we found, they ask you to mop out shower, fine, but the water in the bucket was filthy, so when you mopped there was hair and dirty water left in the shower tray, had to go back in and turn shower on to wash the tray out but then left dirty feet marks in the dressing bit and the scraper didn't work very well at all because of the surface
The approach road from the A148 is terrible, there are signs warning you, we came up there slowly but when we opened the caravan door we were met with broken plates, dishes, mugs and glasses scattered across the floor, we haven't had this problem before so don't think it was down to our packing. However, we will return as the site itself is very nice but won't take the dogs because of the seasonal canine illness has been known here quite seriously.
Being local didn't bother doing much as we could do it in a day from home and just wanted to chill. The layout of the site is nice as you can have sun, shade or completely wooded and it's nice to have the choice of where you pitch, as opposed to being told which pitch you are on. The wardens were helpful and efficient.

Stayed for three nights whilst touring the area. We choose the site as we were in some what of a 'heatwave' and wanted to get some shade. The pitches are set amongst the trees which gave us that.
The site is quite large and has a decent shop for the basics and camping equipment spares. A fish and chip van also visits the site, so that was a nice easy tea sorted!
The estate is very pleasant and had some nice walks in the woods and of course the option to visit house and surrounding grounds.
The facilities were fine, as it's C&CC though, perhaps they could do with an upgrade as you do expect a little better.
I'd happily use the site if we were in the area again.

We'd been looking forward to our visit to Sandringham CCC site for a while. What a disappointment then to actually arrive and stay. The site should be fantastic, it has trees around and a mixture of had standings and grass pitches. What lets it down: it feels overcrowded, an example of greed on behalf of the club in cramming in too many pitches. Putting aside the price (a lot) it just doesn't measure up to what one expects. The facilities are insufficient and are well overdue for a refurbishment. It reminds me of camping in the 70's. Additionally although there are notices in the facilities saying they are inspected several times a day it's obvious that doesn't mean cleaning. A site of this size should have a team of cleaners in all day attendance, rotating between the 3 blocks, given the amount of pitches and how busy the site is. Why also do the CCC persist with the mop and bucket of filthy water. It encourages only some campers to think they are cleaning up after themselves. All it does is spread water around to be further trodden on by grubby footwear. I'm sure such a mop harbours a mountain of bacteria. Maybe the board should visit a few French sites to see how it's done.
The entrance seems to house a caravan storage area where vans are left in what seems a random manner. A right eyesore. Additionally some vans awaiting movement presumably to the storage area remain on pitches awaiting transfer. For info they are left with steadies up. (Thought that may have a little potential for danger myself but I won't start on a h&s soapbox).
It seems such a pity commercial greed has spoilt such a site. We won't be back and this has probably tipped me over into not renewing my CCC membership when due.

A fantastic site with loads of secluded pitches, there are two small play areas which is fine but nowhere to play ball games on site? If you enjoy walking or cycling then you will enjoy this site and although a huge site it had a friendly secluded feel about it. All the staff were most helpful and all facilities were spotlessly clean. We particularly liked the informality of the site, the beautiful flowers and the carvings around most of the site.

This is a beautiful site, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very clean with great facilities. Quite a large site with 3 shower and toilet blocks which were checked every hour and were always clean.
This is a very beautiful site with great surroundings & very peaceful, with a woodland area or open field.
Sandringham house is definitely worth a visit and only a short walk away. We'll definitely be back next year for a longer stay.

Large site but still feels very spacious. Lovely woodland setting.
Facilities are adequate and lovely and clean, but could do with an update to keep up with the competition. Site staff are very friendly and helpful.
The on site dog walk is possibly the best we have ever come across, it circles the site and dogs can be off lead which is always a bonus for dog and owner :)
Their new 'ready tents' are very roomy with everything there ready for guest, they are fantastic for families looking to try out camping without spending on equipment.
The surrounding area is a walkers paradise, dogs will love the endless woodland walks. Sandringham house and gardens are well worth a visit.
My only whinge is the lack of good signage around the woodlands, I would have loved longer walks but as my sense of direction is faulty I was afraid of getting lost in the woods!
We took a look around the neighbouring Caravan club site as members of both, facilities are of the same standard, but this site felt less spacious with their pitches mostly in regimental rows. Of the two sites I am glad we chose the Caravan and Camping club site.

Our second visit to this site and we will definitely return as soon as we can.
Firstly the welcome; other site wardens from the Friendly Club could do with taking lessons from the wardens here because their welcome is just how it should be. Warm, friendly, efficient and with a smile. All contact with both of them and their assistants was the same. They are a credit to the club.
The site is enormous but with a small site feel to it. Acres of space, large pitches, I can imagine that even when full this site would still feel spacious. There are pitches to suit every taste from shady to sunny, in the trees, under the trees, away from the trees. The whole place oozes relaxation and peace.
If as we do, you enjoy nature and its noise then this is the site for you. Owls hooting and screeching throughout the night; wonderful, plus lots of rabbits running about, deer very close by and the foxes even paid a visit one night. If you are bothered by real countryside sounds then this is not the site for you!
Set in a great area for cycling and walking but if on a bike don't believe the old fallacy that Norfolk is flat, it isn't! Fabulous beaches close by at so many places including Hunstanton, Holmes Dunes, Thornham, Titchwell and Brancaster. Lots of RSPB and Norfolk Wildlife Trust places to visit plus all the very picturesque villages. Oh yes and there's a big house up the road inhabited by a monarch.
There are a good range of supermarkets within 5 - 7 miles in Kings Lynn and Hunstanton plus a couple of smaller convenience stores in Dersingham, just down the road and if all else fails there is a perfectly adequate site shop too.
I cannot praise this site enough. The facilities are clean and the site is well kept and cared for. Idyllic.

Revisited this site after a number of years. Living in Norwich and having recently changed our van we fancied a short (4 days) break not too far away from home to test our acquisition. The site is as good as we remembered it. Spacious, well maintained, with good facilities it will be high on our list of favourites if and when we choose to travel less far as we get older. As members of both the Caravan Club and the Camping and Caravan Club we would not hesitate to favour this site over the adjacent CC site because it is larger with much more generous pitches and avoids the too typical 'suburban' feel of the neat rows of caravans on the Cc site.

We stayed here for five nights mainly because we wanted to visit the North Norfolk coast. The site is spacious with pitches attractively spread about rather than in lines. The site managers were very friendly and helpful. The shop stocks most things you might run out of. The toilet and shower facilities were very good - warm and clean.
We won't return, not because of the quality of the site but because I was badly bitten on the first evening by what I think Canadians call 'no-see-ums'. These are tiny but vicious midges that left me with incredibly itchy and sore bites - Scottish midges are tame in comparison. My advice - take anti-midge spray!
