Trouble free trip to the campsite following the hassle free directions provided by the site owners to facilitate a safe arrival.

The site is wooded as opposed to open field and this was an advantage during the recent high winds as the trees acted as a buffer although I am a bit cautious about setting up near trees given a close call with a large tree a few years earlier.

Fish and chips were on offer three nights a week from the local chippie and this was a nice break from having to cook, especially on the day of arrival. Waiting time after ordering was 45 minutes and this was duly noted and quite accurate, allowing time to return to the fake lafumas and enjoy a drink in the sun.

Being wooded a lot of sites are over shadowed very early on and we were lucky. Showers didn't have timers and were nice and warm and well laid out regarding space to put bits and bobs.

This site was a quick cycle to Sandringham however a large carpark is on offer for those wishing to drive. Other sites are probably a bit further out. Additional information is provided in other reviews so I shall avoid repeating what they have said.

Staff were excellent, facilities were good but slowly getting to the point where an upgrade would be nice within a few years. Be sure to bring earwig repellant.

I lost count of the number I had to clear away each day.

I stayed here during the recent heatwave having earmarked the site as a possible bolt-hole when in need of a camping fix (we are C&CC members). I had a little window of opportunity and seized it, excitedly setting off in the extreme heat for a 2-hour drive to this rather lovely part of our island.

I had booked in advance - a grass pitch with electric - and on arrival Reception dealt with my arrival very smoothly, and was taken by a warden to choose a pitch with my particular requirements (with some shade but not too much as that can be gloomy). Being a solo traveller, I was also happy to have a few units around me and chose a pitch under a large silver birch not too far from the facilities and with a bit of a view.

The Reception area was planted up with lovely flowers and looked very welcoming. Arriving felt quite special, as the approach is along lovely wooded glades and all rather manicured (well, the Queen does live nearby). I was given the usual leaflets with rules and contact info (which are fine by me, these keep people happy and safe) but would have liked a site map - if only for future visits to select a possible pitch.

The site is surrounded by forest and there are walks, including a dog walk (the site is dog friendly but leads are required) should you have time or the inclination. It was too hot for me and and I was heading for the coast. You can walk to Sandringham House too.

Pitches are generally flat and laid out without boundaries, but there are a few slopes and the space broken up with some copses so it's not just a sea of units, and all the better for that. The whole place was tranquil - on the whole - and rather serene. I was charmed. It reminded me of sites on the French west coast.

There are two (maybe 3) utility blocks, with bins and taps at various points around the site so not too much of a walk. My 'bollard' was quite a way so you may need a long flex for EHU. The facilities were very clean as one expects from C&CC, but I think a few more washing up sinks might be useful for busier times (although it was the start of the school holidays). I didn't have to queue for that or the showers but it might be a problem at weekends or bank holidays.

I didn't use the on site shop but it offers basic items (cash only) should you need food or camping accessories. There's a Lidl and Tesco in Hunstanton for larger shopping needs.

The site is sandy so quick draining although it wasn't needed whilst I was there, despite a thunderstorm which fortunately passed over quickly or I might have ended up in the car (I'm not a fan of lightning). As a lone female, I felt very safe, with my neighbours saying hello and keeping an eye out.

There's lots to do nearby, be that watery stuff by the beautiful beaches, stately homes and lots of countryside for cycling, walking or birdwatching.

My only gripe was a group of children playing loudly in the copse near me until at least 10. 00pm -squealing - which echoed around due to the still air and little amphitheatre hillock. I know they were letting off steam (ditto parents) but it felt quite late. There are worse noises of course (like loud music) but it rather grated after 9. 30 when all else was calm.

I was sad to leave and hope to be back, next time with my OH and our bikes plus an invitation for 'Liz' for afternoon tea. At £35 for the two nights, with electric, not cheap exactly, but definitely worth it. To quote Arnie, I'll be back.

I had a fantastic time at this site. The pitch for my tent was very generous, and I had plenty of space either side. The facilities are superb, which is to be expected with a main CCC site, and there always seemed to be a staff member buzzing around on a bike.

The staff were all professional and courteous. (Before going, I was slightly concerned about several negative reviews on TripAdviser re staff politeness, but on reflection I wonder if the complaints are more about CCC site rules. I personally pay for those rules, so that I can have a quiet and relaxing time, so I hope they never change).

The site has a small shop, a chip van that comes on certain days, and several toilet/shower blocks and other amenities. It is very Dog friendly, and one thing I do like about this and other CCC sites is that they really do seem to care about Dogs, with plenty of help and advice dotted round re helping your pet have a good time.

Locally there are many woodland walks, including to Sandringham House of course, and this site would be absolutely ideal as a base for bikes. Indeed I saw several bike packers during my stay, as well as a couple of long distance hikers. Everyone was catered for very well which is nice. Sometimes the folks in small tents are seen as a bit 'lesser' but here everyone had equal importance as far as I could see.

My trip included a drive to castle Rising, and Hunstanton, both of which are quite close.

Despite it being a big site, it was very quiet and peaceful. I will definitely return as I ran out of time to do the walks and visits I wanted to do.

Having been a member of the camping and caravanning club for several years we decided to venture to this club site, oh dear what a big mistake, greeted in a not very friendly way and told of all the rules and regulations pertaining to the running the campsite.

We were taken to our pitch and left to our own devices! Eventually I found the numbered electric hook up for our pitch the numbers had been rubbed out( not very well) and duplicated on a couple of different hook ups but had to use 2 cables to reach our caravan totalling 30metres in length.

The toilet facilities were tired and needed a revamp, some taps not working or you could turn them on but not off.

A couple of the wardens enjoyed their jobs and you could see that the rest are definitely in the wrong job and need to look elsewhere for employment as this is not your vocation with the organisations that you work using the slogan ‘ the friendly club,

If I came to the area again I would use the caravan and motor home site the other side of the road, the worst camping and caravanning site I have been to and will not be returning to.

Good points:-

Nice location and lovely setting, mostly under trees.

Mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches and given a choice on arrival. 3 facilities blocks, so not too far from pitches. When we stayed the site was probably less than half full, but didn’t appear crowded.

Bad points:-

Many pitches are some distance from electric bollards, a 25m (or longer) lead is required for most pitches (they should warn you of this in booking info). We had an instance where a campervan was leaving and drove across our lead, despite me asking him not to. When we reported this to the staff, we got differing opinions on this, which was not helpful. Some staff definitely not helpful.

Facilities blocks OK, but tired - we have seen better on C&CC sites - needs some investment.

What a fantastic and warm welcoming site!

Booked through the C&CC website and stated that we were travelling with a child with ASD and asked, if possible, that we could have a pitch away from facilities on a 'quiet area' if possible. The site telephoned me two weeks prior to arrival to discuss options and how to make our pitch work best for us.

On arrival, we were shown to our allocated pitch by one of the wardens who then filled us in on local attractions, where the quieter spots where and then said, and I quote, "I do not wish to make any assumptions as I know everyone is different so please forgive me, but would you like the disabled toilet room unlocked if this would make things calmer and simpler for you, if so, I'll ensure they are unlocked at all times".

Now -we always travel everywhere with a radar key for those times where busy blocks are just too much but the fact that the warden offered the use of these facilities, and the fact he offered ontop of the pre-arrival telephone call made me melt. Thank you so much for what may seem like small gestures, you melted my heart and made things a lot easier for us and our little one.

Away from this;the site is kept spotlessly clean with at least 4 warden couples working tirelessly. The on site shop is well stocked and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Kids play areas looked lovely (we only went once) and ladies and men's shower blocks which my husband and I used when being able to shower alone (rare - it's like visiting a spa!) Where again spotless and really warm!

We visited Sandringham house (about a mile walk from the site), enjoyed ice creams here and had tons of fun on the playground there. From just outside the campsite, there is the 'yellow trail' walk which takes you circular 3 miles from the site round to Sandringham and then back through the deep woods -recommend this to anyone (not really suitable for pushchairs unless you have a 4x4 version!).

Hunstanton and Heacham both lovely but busy. We preferred Brancaster beach (£4 all day parking) with lovely soft sand (the other were very stoney). At Brancaster there are 3 shipwrecks visible at low tide.

We also enjoyed a day at Holkham Hall and hired bikes here -suitable for all ages and abilities with tag a long bikes or bike buggys for really little ones and bikes with stabilizers also available. We enjoyed a good few hours here riding along the different coloured routes. Cost for 5 of us was £45 for 2 hours but you could hire all day for £70.

Of course you could just park up on site and spend the time wandering through the many trails available through the woods, we also did this on 'those days where you don't want to spend a single penny'.

On our entry into site from West Newton the lane is fairly single track. We met a Range Rover travelling the other way who kindly pulled over onto the verge for us. My husband and I look agog when we both said "omg, I think that's P. William!".

Thank you to all at Sandringham C&CC for a wonderful site, a fantastic stay. We are already looking to book again to explore more of this wonderful area.

Just got home from what has become one of our favourite sites. This was our third visit and it certainly won't be our last. Sandringham C&CC site has a wide variety of pitch-types, from open and sunny, to pitches set among trees in a very informal layout.

We chose to pitch among the trees, and in view of the temperatures we experienced, it proved to be a good move. We had plenty of shade on the hottest of days.

There are plenty of really good dog-walks through the beautiful grounds of the Royal estate. Our dog was spoilt for choice! Kings Lynn town is close by for shopping needs, and is well worth exploring.

In the opposite direction, Hunstanton is a nice small town with beautiful beaches, and there are many other seaside resorts within easy reach along the North Norfolk coast. Sandringham C&CC site is an ideal base for exploring West and North Norfolk.

Secluded site set in trees. Although the site was large it never felt like that. Extremely helpful manager.

Shower / toilet block could maybe do with updating but it was very clean & well kept.

I arrived early in the week before the spring Bank Holiday. Great welcome from staff who helped me choose a pitch at the 'quiet' end! I enjoyed great peace and quiet before the big rush at the weekend. Apart from the road resurfacing but that's life.

Having come from a somewhat soggy St Neots it was great to be on well drained ground. There is lots to do in the area and I had a great time.

One grumble I couldn't close the awning because of the smell of dog wee. I was very close to the dog walk so WHY oh WHY do so many campers think it's OK to toilet their dogs inside the camping area.

I saw it all the stay people walking their dogs in the camping area when there was a perfectly good walk round the whole site. Granted most picked up after their dogs but it simply isn't right. I have two dogs myself and I find it unacceptable behaviour.

PS I have no idea how to rate the child friendliness bit as my children are long gone but kids were enjoying themselves. Please give us the N/A option I don't use the toilet blocks either.

We have just returned from 10 days at this lovely site, as the weather had been awful, we booked a hardstanding.

The very friendly site manager offered us a choice of pitches all level and a good size. It's a big well spaced out site.

We were able to put up our awning on the hard standing and park the car on the grass, which was firm and well drained so no problem.
There is a big range of grass and hard standings well spaced out in a lovely forest setting, there are plenty of birds, rabbits and squirrels to watch!

The facilities were very clean with three blocks to choose from showers were hot, but pressure was a little low in one block.
There are miles of walks in the adjacent forest, ideal for dogs! Its a pleasant walk to nearby Sandringham Estate with the house gardens and visitor centre.

Its a short drive to Kings Lynn where there is a big Sainsburys, Asda with fuel.

The coastal road from Hunstanton and beyond is very pleasant with lots of places to walk, beaches to see or swim from in the summer!.
It was quiet during our visit as the Easter holidays had ended but weather was great!

Reception sells a range of snacks and ices, a chip van visits a few evenings a week.

Phone signal was not good on EE, but the warden said 3 network worked well for them.

There is site wifi which was £10 for a week.

There is a kiddies play area and lots of space for them to exercise!
The site is very peaceful but there is jet noise at times from nearby RAF Marham. There was some traffic noise at the weekend mainly motorbikes, probably due to fine weather.
A lovely site.
