This is a large site (250+pitches) and being half term holiday it was busy. But the layout of the site, meant it didn't feel so big. It also felt very friendly and safe, and we mainly saw familues and couples. No groups or loud parties. We liked the feel of the place.

There are different types of pitches of various sizes, some with hard standing, some grass and the option of EHU on some.

We requested a site with partial shade and were shown a pitch towards the far end of the site. It was well worn in the centre with bare earth but was grassy around the edges and backed onto trees. Beware of pine cones and if you are in a tent clear the area of the cones before you pitch! Also look out for roosting pigeons, they can make a real mess of your tent!

Facilities at our end of the site were a little dated but clean, very clean. Lots of toilets and some showers, a laundry room and family room. The washing up area had hot running water, but only 3 sinks which led to queuing at peak times! You can freeze icepacks at the reception building but at 50p each this was quite pricey.

An ice-cream van came round every evening of our stay, And even with the cooler evenings business seemed to br booming as he also served hot desserts! (and accepted card payments).

Locally there is plenty to do with Sandringham on the doorstep, (I'd recommend 'takeaway afternoon tea' and the children's play area and woodland paths) and beaches a little further away.

Hunstanton wasn't too crowded and the Sealife centre is great on a cooler/rainy day! A little further out towards Brancaster is Orchard Groves, with farm shopand their own apple juice/ciders, a few shops and Eric's pizza/fish and chips, and a gelato cafe.

Really lovely feel to the place, and suitable for both adults and families.

Castle Rising is impressive and nice place for a picnic.

The Ffolkes at Hillington is a lovely pub less than 10mins drive away. Lovely enclosed children's play area and Container crazy golf! During the week they serve brunch and dinner (no lunch/afternoon service). Sunday lunch is epic!

For supplies, big supermarkets King's Lynn has enormous Tesco and Sainsburys and smaller Asda, plus town centre shops. Hunstanton has small Tesco and there is a Lidl at Heacham.

Wish we'd had longer than a week and we will return. Children are already asking to go back.

A very large site and plenty of space, facilities could be better, this site is more geared towards caravans.

The biggest problem is with the pigeons there are far too many and they need to be culled there is pigeon poo everywhere and you cannot help but tread in it, it’s a health hazard,

Also no shop on site nearest town 7 miles away.

Thoroughly recommend this site having spent 6 nights over the new year.

Site can be accessed via various roads from Queen Elizabeth Way. One road does have the usual road sign to indicate that there's a campsite but our satnav took me down a different road into the woods. To say I was relieved to see the site entrance is an understatement (thought I might be needing to 3 point turn lol).

A very friendly welcome and a chap on a bike asked us what was important for us and then showed us where a suitable pitch was.

There's a pub / hotel a mile or so away (as you head towards Kings Lynn ) which does reasonable food and we went there on the first night. Kings Lynn has lots of shops and a few supermarkets.

We can also recommend the Rose and Crown in Snettisham for food, worth booking as it gets busy.

We were using a ready camp tent

Liked

Clean facilities, with lovely powerful hot showers

Well laid out site with very little noise

Nice area with plenty of walks.

Did not like

Check in not until 5pm so it was almost dark before we were unloaded. Check out was 10 am.

Sandringham has got 9 ready tents and ours was the only one occupied and we soon found out why

Tent was shabby and grubby.

Tent was freezing cold as the heater was inadequate and you could not use your own heater.

In bed we had our own 13. 5 tog duvets, 2 furry throws and a hot water bottle but as the cold was effecting our health we had to leave a day early.

Never again will we use these ready tents.

Well another one of our many visits to this lovely site. Despite it being far busier than we had ever known it before, the staff went out of their way to find us a quiet secluded spot as we had asked for. Where we were the pitches were huge, and we could set up any way round that we liked, which we much prefer to being all in neat rows facing the same way, usually onto a roadway. There are plenty of pitches like that though, if that's your preference.

There are 3 toilet and shower blocks and these are very well maintained. There is also a plentiful EHU supply and wifi is available on the pitches.

The site is in the beautiful grounds of Sandringham house, and set all in woodland with many lovely walks.

It's an ideal site from which to explore seaside resorts such as Heacham and Hunstanton, both only a few minutes drive away. In the opposite direction lies Kings Lynn, which is a quite historic town with good shops and plenty to explore. A bit further away, but still within easy reach, are the North Norfolk coastal towns of Sheringham, Cromer, and Wells-next-the Sea, with many interesting coastal villages in between.

Sandringham site is a definite favourite for us, and I'm sure we will return many times.

Great site for families, and super facilities (which have lovely hot showers and are kept very clean),

Close enough to visit the beach everyday and added bonus of a fish and chip / ice cream van to site!

Very big pitches and all very level.

Beautiful surroundings with plenty of walks and wildlife to see.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

We would definitely recommend this site and will be returning in the near future.

Thank you for a great week away.

Well, I found myself here again, along with the OH but sadly for only one night: a quick 'grabbed' break as OH between jobs and me having a couple of days free. Had I known 3 clients would cancel, we could have stayed another night and wish we had.

We took our B&B tent and went 'no electric' and were pleased with our choice of pitch in a more open glade with occasional deciduous trees for some judicious shade. It was hot and humid.

There is a bit of an issue with worn grass in places - I'm glad I took a tarp for under the groundsheet: no doubt it's been a popular place and indeed, was busy for pre-school holidays.

Tents were in a very small minority. Where does the £££ come for all those spanking brand new tin tents and motorhomes?

We were near Facilities Block 2 - a new one for me having sampled each of the others on previous trips. Whilst clean, there are some signs of needing a refresh (broken mirror, cold tap only).

I don't know if there is a freezer block facility but it would be good to have: French sites all offer this and, without EHU this time (and an extreme coolbox), this facility would be extremely welcome.

The woodpigeons could do with becoming pigeon pie but, we saw a glow worm which was a delight.

The site is in a lovely setting with the contours and trees providing a cosy feeling and tranquillity.

I'd stay again for sure, it's ideal for touring that part of Norfolk although not being near a pub, to walk to, is a drawback.

 First time camper.

Very well run site, welcomed and shown to the pitch, great and very clean facilities.

Onsite staff very helpful so would certainly stay again.

The on site staff even explained how I could join to save even more on the cost (as I was over a certain age!).

We booked one of the "glamping" pre-erected tents as we'd always wanted to try one. The tents are for up to six, but we were just a couple, and used the second bedroom as storage.

The bed was comfortable, but we had to take our own bedding - we're glad that we took our a bedsheet to put over the plastic cover, it made it much more comfortable (we were using a sleeping bag).

The kitchen is pretty good, and had just about everything we needed. We did cook a few times, and it was really nice sitting out on the veranda at breakfast and in the evening.

The toilets and showers were up to the normal excellent club standard, and the staff were lovely. The site is in a nice location away from the main road, and very quiet at night, despite being quite full during midweek in late September. The site is located in forest, so there's lots of shade.

There is plenty to see in the area, the Sandringham Estate is worth a visit even if (like us) you're not massively interested in the royal family. There are some good bike rides and walks, though some of the roads are not as flat as you'd expect for Norfolk.

It is definitely worth going to Hunstanton to see sunset over the Wash from the cliffs, and the Princess Theatre is worth a visit for a cinema visit or play. If you wanted to treat yourself to a spa day, Knights Hill Hotel (near Kings Lynn) is really nice.

The closest shops to the site are in Dersingham. There are no pubs really close by, but Babingley social club is closer to the site (we didn't visit, but there are detail on opening times on the notice board).

All in all, it was a lovely week, so nice to not have to pack up the tent before leaving!

Just back from a nine night stay at the C&CC Sandringham site, we had a great time out and about. But this site is clearly past it's best, toilet blocks are in need of a urgent revamp, the same chipped shower tray as three years ago!

A lot of the pitches are getting far too much use, no grass left at all. Worst of all is the groups allowed, talking and laughing loudly into the dead of night and not a site manager(?) to be found.

If you have rules then they are completely useless if you don't enforce them. This is quite a common theme for C&CC sites, there are always those that are going to come away for the weekend and be very noisy on a Friday and Saturday night.

It wouldn't take much for a couple of the so called managers to walk around the site after 11pm and control the noisy groups you allow. It is a great shame as it is a great site to walk or cycle from and very close to a lot of other things to do and see.

It seems to me that the C&CC are being left behind by independent sites that provide cleaner, tidier, quieter and more relaxing sites, that realise that it can't be just about raking in money and that you have to provide a reasonable level of service.

After 22 years with the C&CC I think this will be our last.
