Arrived a few days after Great Yarmouth had torrential rains and storms, so the paths on the camping end were very muddy and wet. However the weather picked up which makes a great difference to peoples attitudes and the holiday was great fun. Could do with more washing machines and tumble dryers, only 2 laundrettes with 2 dryers and washers in each, which was just not enough to accomodate the whole park especailly if the weather is wet, I sat for 2hrs in laundrette just waiting to do 1 wash load, so thats my only qualm.

Were do I begin. This is by far the worst touring facilities you could imagine. When we arrived after a terrible rain downpour we were directed to a scrap of land beside the path which could not accomodate our 21ft van and we had prebooked some 2 months before. Shamble organisation a absolute free for all doesn't do to pre book only to turn up before midday and queue for the free for all. After complaining at the office we were then moved to a better pitch marked by logs very close to each other. Much worse if you were in the middle area near the tiolets as all the tents here were on top of each other. It was a bad week with the weather and the continual downpours meant that the site could not recover and it was a muddy mess. Many pitches so flooded that the people had to upgrade to self catering statics and pay the extra! If you came to this site in the statics I'm sure it would seem lovely as the facilities including the food are good. The pool although small is fine and well managed. The entertainment is good although in the evening the no smoking area is pathetic althoug there is a big change coming next year and not soon enough for us. All in all a site good for families with older children whom smoke and enjoy a noisy evening as not for us with respectful children whom go to bed at a reasonable time!

Excellent site, kids loved the play areas and swimming pool great base to use for Yarmouth and Gorleston. Toilet and shower block well maintained and cleaned regularly, cctv outside of these seemed to deter any trouble. Would recommend this site, we will use it again

When we arrived on the Friday evening (after booking in advance a few weeks earlier and advising of the arrival time), It was only due to my sister having to place her car on a pitch to save one that I got in. (This was advised by reception as getting no help from the warden, all his reply was I forgot!). The place was totally full. Every inch of ground was used. NO set distance between units. Campers lit campfires, yes even though it was in the woodland, bone dry. Very noisy at night with people drinking, shouting, swearing, car doors slamming up until 4am on occasions. The security did not make their presence known very often. Some of the toilets were blocked, they had leaflets and rubbish put in them. Rubbish was littered around the pitches and the main park. GOOD POINT: The fish and chips were nice from the jolly frier and reasonably priced. It is a shame as it is a lovely site, but could be improved if better pitch marking, reserved spaces for advance booking, more regular night security, regularly checks on the toilets etc. Unlikely to return, as I don't think things will change.

I cannot believe that this site has any bad reviews at all. It is excellent. All tent pitches are flat some shaded by trees like ours but you need that in the burning sun. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The entertainment is brilliant very child orientated as it should be, my son played musical buckets on stage, it was so funny seeing the little ones sat in buckets. Adult entertainment was great too ive never cried so much with laughter than when a comedian called Neil Wheatly was on stage. Great pool, and you can hire six seater bikes, we had races on them and im 29. The oasis bar and grill do a smashing sunday dinner and a mean cooked breckie. This is the first site ive been to where everyone was so friendly and polite I will certainly be going back soon.

We booked this site at the same time as our friends, who live at the other end of the country to us, so really looking forward to being next to them. We were told at the call centre that this would happen. On arrival we were shown to our pitch, it was quite a distance from our friends, when we asked why we couldnt be next to them, he replied that no one told him. Anyway the pitch was awful, the only way I can describe it is muddy, dark and the only available space. I was shocked at how close everyone was, a few feet from the next tent/trailer tent/caravan/motorhome. There were no proper roads or tracks in the field we were in, and with the rain it was muddy and quite deep. The car was slidding when we moved it. I found that the toilets were ok, mostly clean. The showers were horrendous, scolding hot and not very clean. I dont think there was a teenagers club I didnt find it. My friend took her children to the indoor swimming pool though she said it was freezing. I quite enjoyed the entertainment, the entertainers certainly worked hard. The drinks were reasonably priced. I wouldnt go back to this site, but might try another haven site, but will need to save as we seemed to be paying out all the time, most of the activities were not free

July 2005 My family and I were quite exicited to go to wild duck as we have been there before in past years. When we arrived we were shocked to see how full the touring pitch was but we found ourselves a perfect spot close to everything on the park. The park is lovely for the children and there seems to be lots to do. For my 6yr old daughter it was fine, for my 20 month old son it wasn't much fun! The swimming pool(baby pool)was that cold my sons lips turned blue, started shivering and he was out within 5 minutes. The food was tasty but most of the food staff are foriegn and it was difficult to explain dietry needs without getting a little fustrated. The funworks team were fantastic and gave it their all in everything they did.The entertainment was a bit tacky but we went with the flow. we went to two places to eat outside of the park, one was the kings head, 2 mins from wild duck, their food was delightful at a good price too! we also went to a "family" pub/resturant on the main road to great yarmouth where they didnt even have any highchairs so we left promptly. All fun days out like pleasurewood hills and wildlife park are great value for money. We hired out a push along car for the day for our son at a cost of 5 pounds in pleasurewood hills and he behaved all day, sitting in his new car! it was a stress free day!
I dont think the park is as good as it was in previous years but it wouldnt say it was a bad holiday at all. we are going to visit many other sites before we return again to wild duck,we enjoyed ourselves and that was the main thing !

July 2005 We booked a basic pitch at the Wild Duck about 9 months in advance, however when we got there it seemed all the level pitches on flat ground were allocated to those pitches serviced with electricity. We were hurriedly shown to an 'overspill' area which was partly under trees, very uneven ground and had long grass. The warden scurried away asap before we could lodge complaints. The nearby water caused mosquito bites++. The toilet block stank of drains, but we didn't have to queue for showers (no wonder). The teenagers club (t-co) didn't happen. The PAWS club for 1-4 year olds consisted of craft items only and toytime consisted of a box of bricks. I found the whole site to be very disappointing, and although it is advertised as a GT Yarmouth site it is a full 4 miles away in heavy traffic. I could not recommend this site at all

October 2004 Went there for half term week with our little grand daughter and was very dissapointed, especially after reading all the good reviews.
The touring site was packed solid and we were all packed in like sardines. Kids were allowed to cycle and play football around the vans and vehicles etc and we ended up with 2 great muddy football prints on our new motorhome. Fortunately, no damaged occurred but it could have caused a nasty dent or 2. Also children were cycling around the vans and due to the bad weather the site became even more churned up and resembled a dirt track by the end of the holiday. I really think Wild Duck should set a designated area aside for football games and cycling as it is not fair to allow this around peoples caravans and motorhomes. Most caravan sites do not permit cycling or ball games on the actually camping areas and I think this policy ought to be adopted here.
The shower blocks were dirty and smelly and kids were using them as playgrounds and throwing toilet rolls around and upturning the santitary bins. I was disgusted by the state of the toilets and shower blocks.
We ate once in the Oasis and never again - it was terrible and very expensive. We had to wait ages to order our meal(sunday carvery) and then queue up for an eternity to have the chef slice up the roast - he put the meat on our plates and then announced he had run out of roast potatoes - we all stood there for 5 mins with our meat going cold when eventually the potatoes arrived. The people in front of us tucked in and once again they ran out of potaotes. The potatoes eventually arrived and then they ran out veg. The young chef looked panic struck and kept running in and out of the kitchen. Eventually we got our food but it was tasteless and cold.
The indoor pool area was fine and my grand daughter loved it in there and the entertainment team did an excellent job in entertaining both kids and adults in the onsite club. They all worked hard and they had boundless energy and always seemed happy and cheerful - especially with the kids. My grand daughter really loved Rory and his friends.

May 2004 What a lovely site. This was our first time on this site. My husband, myself and our four children. My brother and young son decided to come with us at the last minute so they had a small tent on our pitch. Even with eight of us we still felt we had plenty of room! Very well maintained and prety site. The food preparation area/washing up area is inside with large work tops and a fridge! My brother has camped a few times more than us all around the country and he said"it's the best site i've been on". The entertainment was good but does get very smoky. The pool was nice and clean if a bit slippery. We had some lovely days out in the sunshine even though rain was promised. I can highly reccomend the dinosaur park for a day out. We would like to use this site again.
