We stayed here in Mid April 2013, and lets get what is bad out the way first.
Some of the pitches are really bad, due to what's on the ground sharp bits, maybe fir etc. It was getting dark when I pitched up and I didn't realise what the condition of the ground was like until I walked into the tent. There were sharp things sticking up all over the place and ended up trying to move the tent a little to see what the problem was the next day but I also discovered that some sharp bit had gone and poked into my blow up air bed and put a hole in it. Silly me turned the bed over to see where the air was coming from and the same happened again but the other side.
Also my hook up kept on shorting due to the power box. The whole camping field needs a Overhaul it lacked pride.
The good points
The customer service standard was very high, in general staff were great, they were helpful, friendly and took time to make a conversation with you.
Despite the toilets also needing an overhaul, they were very well kept.
The parts that were newly done up looked great, and the woodland walk was a pleasure. There are also ducks that walk around the campsite rather wildly hence the name wild duck.
We had a special offer to come here and Wild Duck was worth the money, but if I had to pay normal price I would not have been as happy. If only the grounds people took more pride and cleaned the tent pitches as there was bits of little left on a few pitches and I know wild duck is set in woodland, but with that also comes pine needles etc and they are not very good on the foot or sleeping on, and if you have them poking through your tent you would certainly know about it. At least someone should come round sucking them up.
Be warned Wild Duck is not easily sign posted but once in there it is a pleasant place to stay at.
If the pitches were better I would give this site a 9 out of 10. I have been told that by next season Wild Ducks pitches and camping area will be improved, so let's wait and see.

We have just got back from a fantastic holiday on this site. We normally book these holidays with the daily mail promotions. We have visited a fair few of these haven sites over the years but this is the best in Norfolk. I was a bit unsure as we would normally book Hopton but took the plunge.
The caravan was spotless as was the rest of the site. It would appear a fair bit of money has been spent on the site as it all looked very new. We ate in the bar The Sitting Duck the food was a bit expensive but was good with large portions. The kids enjoyed the kids clubs and lots of them included in the price of the holiday. The evening entertainment was excellent for the kids whilst the wife and I could sit back and relax. The outside pool was not open but this was because of the cold weather. The inside pool was good but could do with a few more changing rooms. I did feel the non refundable 20p for the lockers a bit tight.
I looked at the campsite and would return with my tourer in the future. Overall an excellent well ran site.

What a great Haven Site. I have stayed at many Haven's and this one is so far my favourite. It is much smaller and quieter than then usual Haven Sites and set in a lovely wooded area. There is a club house with entertainment, another bar where you could get a meal, shop, amusements and swimming pools.
We went end of Sept/beginning of Oct and the park was fairly quiet, apart from a group of campers opposite us who were very noisy late into the night.
I really like this site, on arrival the Walden could not have been more friendly and welcoming. There is also a lovely children's play area situated in the trees.
The toilet block was dated and could do with a refurb but it was keep spotlessly clean.
We enjoyed the local area with a trip into Yarmouth with fish and chips on the sea front.
My children loved the peddle carts which you could hire to travel around site.
I would definitely go back here and will be keeping my eyes open for the great out of season - late offers Haven run.

A fabulous site and one I would definitely recommend. We visited for a 6 nights with two 15 year olds and a 7 year old. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The touring park is lovely, lots of space. We asked for an oversized pitch with electric hook up and were very pleased with the area.
The showers are clean and I saw a cleaner on several occasions throughout each day. The showers are warm all the time and although they are the 'push button' type I was impressed plus there are plenty of showers available so we never had to wait.
The park has lots to do for all ages, an indoor and outdoor pool. Our kids didn't use the outdoor pool but it did look excellent and in both there are always lifeguards on hand. The indoor pool has lots of activities to keep the kids happy but it is best to book early.
There is a restaurant with good food at reasonable prices plus a showbar that has entertainment every night plus lots of stuff for the younger kids.
Outside the park there is lots of do including Great Yarmouth which the teenagers loved. We also went canoeing which cost £22. 00 for two canoes for half a day, even my 7 year old could take part in this and it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
All in all an excellent park. I have been to Haven before and have hated it but this park was brilliant, I would definitely visit again and would highly recommend

We visited in June 2012 and stayed for 4 nights.
We expected the weather to be mixed, and whilst it was, in the main we enjoyed better than expected weather.
The welcome at reception was warm and informative, and set the tone for the staff response for the whole stay. On this part I cannot say how impressed I was. Having stayed at Ty Mawr Haven before, it really was like chalk and cheese. At Wild Duck you were MADE to feel welcome whereas at Ty Mawr it was like you were left to your own devices.
The setting in the touring field is a lovely change from the open field setting, with tree coverage if you want it. We did and it was a great setting and offer SOME shelter.
The distance to the shower block was a little on the long side, but that would really be nit picking.
The one point I'd say that summed the site up for me was the friendliness of everyone involved, both other guests and staff, so much so that we had no problem letting our kids who are quite young, roam free around the play areas.
Overall a great site that we would definitely go to again, even despite the 5 hour drive :)

Stayed here for 2 nights at Easter. We were booked for 3 but heavy rain was forecast for the last night so we packed up a day early.
We were a group of 4 tents with 10 adults and 12 kids. Our family of 2 adults & 2 children aged 5 & 7 thoroughly enjoyed it. Our location on the large EHU pitches was perfect just a small walk to the shower block & the clubhouse/swimming pool etc.
There was a small (brand new looking) park just a stones through away so the kids loved this. There was another park next to the entrance which the children also liked.
Showers & toilets were clean enough, the showers were a one button push set up so no change in temperature was possible and you had to keep pressing the button which is always a bit of a pain.
As per most Haven sites there is activities for the children throughout the day and a good cabaret/kids disco/entertainment provided.
The touring warden was particularly helpful/informative and introduced himself to everyone personally with a handshake and was around all the time should you have any queries/concerns. We thought this was very good indeed considering the amount of people on park that he was responsible for.
We didn't venture too far from the park but it is very close to a large tesco and Gt Yarmouth which has everything you could want in terms of a uk beach holiday (amusements pier etc)

Stayed here for 3 nights mid august and loved it.
It is a small relaxed site, perfect for a peaceful getaway.
The toilet block was always clean apart from 1 night when some unruly people had blocked some of the toilets with paper ( not the sites fault ), it was remedied first thing in the morning. Showers are the push button type which can be a pain, but you can cope with that.
Entertainment was again, typical haven stuff, brill for kids, only one showbar though and if you didn't arrive early you could not get seated.
There was a spar shop on site which was small and didn't stock much but it was ok.
Absolutely loads to do around here ( boating trips on the broads, africa alive, my son loved the theme park pleasurewood hills nr lowestoft).
All in all a fab place and will definitely return.

Being a Haven site you sort of already know beforehand what you are going to get for your money.
This site has a lot of pros and cons straight from the off and I was left feeling that with a bit of management could be a brilliant site, however its got some way to go yet.
On arrival the staff were helpful and very organised. We were then shown our choices of pitch. When I say pitch I should say 'gap'.
There are so many tents and vans all squashed closely together it was almost like a refugee camp. One of the 'gaps' I was shown was about 35meters from a tap (although to be fair to the warden he did say I could use his hosepipe if needs be).
I eventually found a decent spot next to a tap and EHU. The campsite itself is surrounded and amongst trees and is a lovely setting.
The main area with oasis bar, showbar, spar shop, swimming pool is all very modern and was clean and tidy. The wooded area at the back of the motorhome was not clean and tidy and had rubbish thrown around. Beer cans were seen about the play area first thing in the morning. Bins were not emptied as often as they should have and although there was recycling bins available you couldn't get to them some days because of all the (non recyclable)rubbish stacked in front of them.
The show bar can get very busy and the shows were a bit hit and miss. The oasis bar was a lot quieter and we found it better to sit and have a drink and a bite to eat. My 13 year old son could also get free wi-fi for his lap top so he was kept happy. The race night in the Oasis bar was good fun.
The swimming pool was basic without a slide or features, both my children were disappointed with this as they have been to a few Haven sites that at least have one slide.
The arcade was a lot smaller than the usual Haven arcades and had little to offer my 13year old son who is usually in his element at such places (he said this one was boring as it didn't have many arcade games)and focused more on the grabber machines and prize machines (in the form of tickets)
The toilet block was ok, kept clean and I never had to queue for a shower, although one of the cubicles had a push button that kept on popping out every 5 seconds.
The site is about 15 minutes drive to great Yarmouth or a 25-30minute bus ride (number 7 bus going to 'market gates'), a family ticket is the cheaper option.
Great Yarmouth is full of things to do and a typical seaside town. The pleasure beach kept us busy for hours (although I did sneak off for a quick pint at the blackfriars brewery just round the corner)
Africa alive was only 30 mins drive away and also proved a hit with the family (tesco days out vouchers are accepted otherwise its about £60 for the family)
We arrived early and in time for the Sunday carboot sale which was massive.
On reflection I found our stay here expensive for what we got (£51. 00 a night for a family of 4)
I would go back though if they sorted out the following-
More waste bins available.
Litter pickers that tidied up the wooded areas around the tents and vans and not just the main areas.
Proper pitches with space between tents /vans.
A slide in the swimming pool.
A new modern toilet block.
Bigger arcade.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at wild duck. On arrival our park ranger was very funny and very helpful showing us to our pitch, the pitches are very bare and sandy and I recommend taking some heavy duty tent pegs as the ground underneath is sandstone. I would say this park is ok if you have very young children i. E 4-9 years as the fun works entertainment will keep them amused. I have 14 year old twins and there is hardly anything to keep them entertained so we spent most of our time out of the park during the day(highly recommend a day on the broads at Wroxham). The evening entertainment is absolutely rubbish and repetitive, if you prefer a nice quiet drink then the oasis bar is quite nice. The toilet/shower facilities could do with upgrading they are a bit smelly and the showers you have to press the button every 10 seconds to get your water but nice and hot. There is only 3 sinks for dishwashing which most of the time you had to queue for. The shop on site is very reasonable, the restaurant is quite expensive but there is a large asda and tesco close by and reception staff have all directions to wherever you want to go.

This site wasn't all bad it was great for a weekend but I would not go there for a week as I imagine we would get bored, we have a 2 year old son and the entertainment throughout the day for a 2 year old was very poor nearly every activity is from age 4+ I found 1 activity that was appropriate on 1 day, this site does not have a lot it has 1 convenience store a restaurant/bar, a swimming pool and an arcade/club. The evening entertainment was fantastic my 2 year old loved it and it didn't run on too late either,
The site in general was ok, the toilets were very clean 1st thing in the morning but were not really maintained throughout the day at 1 point all but 1 toilet was blocked, throughout the night there was toilet roll in about 2 toilets so I would recommend taking your own.
The site in the morning was very disappointing, there were empty beer cans and glass cider bottles laying around the site on bench's and in the play park I was also disappointed that nothing opened until 9am, and when you have small children that's late, we were up at 6. 30 and had nothing to do but go to the playpark which was only entertaining to a 2 year old for about an hour.
In all this campsite is quite poor I wouldn't write it off completely as it is close to our home and can be fun as long as you take plenty of your own food to cook by your tent as the food is quite expensive (about £15 for breakfast that 2 adults and a 2 yr old) also take lots of things to keep you entertained if you are up early in the mornings.
And for £50 for 2 nights I think you could find better value
