We have just returned from a lovely week at Wild Duck.
The touring area is very pleasant to look at, with lots of trees and a good play area for the children, although I imagine it can get quite cramped during high season, judging by the spacing of the EHU points!
The shower block is large and well cared for (10 showers in both the male & female blocks) and the attendant there is very friendly and approachable.
The ground is very sandy so even though we had some real downpours during our stay the drainage was excellent and any puddles which formed quickly disappeared. However, beneath the sandy soil there seems to be a lot of rock, and it was impossible to pitch the tent as neatly as we would have liked, but we managed.
The touring park is close to the main facilities on the site, but not excessively noisy. We slept undisturbed every night apart from one, when someone was pitching a tent and opening and closing car doors at 3.30am, which seemed a bit of a strange thing to allow.
The shop (although not as big as on some Haven sites) sells very nice fresh bread and all the basics.
The bar is roomy and comfortable.
The swimming pool was the only facility that we really used and although busy it was not overcrowded, and the water was pleasantly warm too.
The only thing that we didn't like was that due to the large number of caravans & motorhomes the 'feel' of the touring site is not very sociable, as most people tended to stay indoors watching TV rather than sitting outside, although perhaps when the weather is better it may be more 'outdoorsy' although we did have some hot days and nice evenings whilst we were there, but perhaps the tight pitches discourage people using the outside space. Unfortunately all the 'oversize' pitches were already booked when I made our booking (in January!) but they are very popular with tent campers.
I think we will probably return in the future, although only out of the main holiday season.

We arrived here at about 8.30 pm and were met by very friendly security. He handed us our pack and said that we can pick any pitch we like, (so long as its not an extra large one!).
The touring area was busy, but there were still lots of spaces available and we found a lovely one amongst the trees with EHU.
The shower facilities were excellent. You have an area within the shower cubicle to change without everything getting wet and they were clean and fresh, despite heavy usage.
The only down side of this park was the cost of the food in the bar and the quality was poor. However, the onsite chip shop was excellent, and well worth the money we paid for our meal.
The show bar was your usual mix of Haven entertainment and it was rammed with children, as you would expect, but the sports bar was just as nice for a quieter drink.
Considering we only paid £28 for 2 nights, we were very pleased with our weekend away and we have booked again for 5th June.

Stayed for Easter long weekend. Good site for kids, plenty to do. Facilities were clean and hot water plentiful. I know this was a very busy weekend to go but I did feel we were packed in like sardines on the touring fields. Not a site for peace and quiet but definitely one for the kiddies. Also Ive been told to add by my daughter (a curry sauce fan) that the chippy curry was to die for!

Booked for 3 nights here out of season and with a discount voucher so ended up paying very little for the break! The site was extremely quiet as it was the week before the Easter school holidays (my son finished earlier) - there was only 1 other tent but quite a few tourers. Facilities were fine - a little dated but very clean - there always seemed to be someone there cleaning but as it was so quiet I would have expected it to be clean. Lots of hot water, showers, loos and launderette all in one complex. There was also a washing up room. The launderette had an iron and ironing board free to use. We had to vacate the pitch at 10am which I felt was a bit early for me! I paid an extra £5 to extend the stay till 6pm - well worth it. Loads of activities for children - shows, kids clubs, evening entertainment though we dd not use these so can't comment on the quality. Amusement arcade was popular with my son as was the indoor pool - lovely & warm and extra activities that could be booked such as Aquagliders. A good fish & chip van and restaurant so you could be as self sufficient or not as you wished. Will be going again but definitely not in high season.

Been their twice over a 3year period and will go again, The site is very clean, usual type site shop supplies the essentials,
Staff were very helpful, and always said hello,
There is a local supermarket just up the road,
Well laid out site, The static side you park beside the van, we did have a look at the Touring side, looked a nice secluded area shower block looked good,
Can't really say about the entertainment as we didn't go in the club houses, as we are there for a quiet time,

Myself, my girlfriend, and our friends stayed at the the wild duck near great yarmouth for a couple days in July it was great value for money as it cost 30 quid for two nights for the four of us. The toilet block always seemed clean and tidy why we were there, the entertainment was funny sometimes coz the bloke singing thought he was brilliant when he wasn't def not the next x factor winner lol. The staff were very friendly and helpful from start to finish the layout of the pitches I found great as each one was different, the warden didn't really give much guidance of how you should pitch up but didn't bother us.
The pools were great indoor and outdoor pool and crazy golf, plus you can hire out bikes etc, good well stocked shop, the restaurant was nicely laid out with helpful staff, the evening food was ok the breakfast was excellent def got to try it. The park def has a nice family feel and has something for everyone. They have the haven mascots walking round taking photos with the kids, I never forget my girlfriend sitting eating her breakfast and when she turned round there was a character right behind her (i never seen her jump so high)
The main point for choosing this park was great Yarmouth which is great which its small theme park and now it has a mini London eye.
The food on site I found quite expensive the breakfast was good value for money and very filling
Overall a very enjoyable break had a wicked time with some great memories and definitely go there again next time I plan a trip to great Yarmouth

Went here last month, first time camping since scouts years ago. First time ever for the rest of the family, and thanks to the wild duck site they are now converted to sleeping under canvas. We were in a group of five families and we got a fab pitch in a corner surrounded by trees, which considering it was bank holiday weekend I was very surprised. We even had space for a group Gazebo as well as 5 tents and 5 cars. Staff very helpful as is usual with Haven. Showers and toilets were clean and hot every day, and considering we were as far from them as you could get only a two minute walk away. On site restaurant very reasonable, as was the on site shop which always had plenty of everything. Everyone in our group only had positive things to say about this site. We have stayed at Haven sites before in static caravans so would definite go back again in the tent now that the rest of the family are converted. The only negative I can think of is that our pitches were a bit uneven, but we had plenty of space so with a bit shuffling it wasn't to bad, and managed to get a flat bit where the bedroom pods went.
Overall - Excellent

We visited the site with our 4 young children when we first arrived we was greeted by very nice reception staff, After booking in we went to the touring area where we was met by someone who directed us to our pitch, This is where the problems started, Our Pitch was more like a piece of wast land squeezed in behind a group of trees, After a short discussion we managed to get a better pitch Near the children's play area,
The pitch we had was better than the first we was offered but after only 10 mins of rain the pitches became very water logged and flooded the awning. The toilets was cleaned Daily but there was a horrible smell from the drains in the showers even though they were cleaned Daily.
I found the shop a bit over priced compared to other Haven sites I have visited and the staff un helpful. The entertainment staff in the Childrens club were excellent marks out of 10 I'd give them 100 they were brilliant.
There is a Tesco Express only 5 mins from the site which was a lot cheaper than the on site shop

This is a really good site for families with children. There is so much to do come rain or shine. The pitches are a little all over the place and it can be hard to get a group of you together however, they are of a good size although some of them can be very shady and it can take an age to dry out your tent. The shower blocks are good and there are sockets for hair dryers etc.
There are two childrens play parks and an indoor and outdoor pool which are all free to use. There is a good size amusement arcade and a lovely entertainment complex where they put on shows and entertain the children for hours. There is a restaurant however we did not eat so cannot comment. There is also another bar which is quiet and allows the children space to play and dance without the crowds. They have a few very small rides and trampolines which you can pay for a go on.
They have a fish and chip van on site which was good, and a shop for the basics.
They also have pitch and putt and bikes to hire.
We have been here a few times and are going back in a few weeks. It a lovely site which will keep you entertained.

I've just got back from a 4 night stay at the Wild Duck site. The overall site was great, with lots of entertainment, mainly for younger children (which my 3 year old loved!) however they had arcades for my older son, and we enjoyed a family quiz (which we won!) and bingo night too.
We were in a basic tent field which was just that - a very basic 'field' surrounded by trees and woods. The 'pitch where you like' attitude was nice as we had enough space for our large tent and car, however the field was very uneven and stoney making pitching difficult. There was almost no servicing to the pitch where we were (just one basic light at the entrance) and we were a good 3 minute walk from the showers and toilets which became very tedious with a 3 year old! The upside of being so far away was that it was very quiet and peaceful and there was no 'through traffic'.
The Showers were basic and could really use modernising, however they were kept as clean as possible by a cleaner who never appeared to go home! Like many sites there was no bath / wash facilities for younger children (like many, mine hates the shower!)and the water was often far too hot for him. I would say that the shower block was small considering the amount of tourers and tents that they catered for and we had to queue a couple of times.
The washing up area was also small, but again clean and tidy and there was a small freezer for ice packs included free of charge!
On site the staff were all very friendly and helpful (but a little pushy at selling you things!), the shop was well stocked but quite expensive, the play areas and pools were all well maintained and free from litter etc. The only criticism would be that all the pool staff seemed to be very young and a little immature (given the responsible nature of the job)
The food on site was reasonably priced. We ordered from the main menu one night and the food was tasty and well cooked. We also tried the carvery, but the meat was overcooked, the roast potatoes and yorkshires were courtesy of aunt bessie and the veg were soggy.
Overall, it was a nice family park with good facilities and entertainment. The setting was lovely with lots of greenery and not too much concrete. The park had a very nice 'safe' feeling with security patrolling though the night as well as staff about during the day. The site was well situated with the beach just 3 miles away and a tesco etc even closer. I would recommend the site, however would say that those with smaller children may need to specify a pitch closer to the toilets (or take a bucket!)
