Have just come back from a week away here.

The site is OK but we've stayed on better, cheaper.

Very scenic and great for the fishermen out there fishing in the river is free, your likely to catch lots of eels. There is private fishing for £7.50 a day, this is a nice spot and fishing is good, but quite a walk over stiles to get there.

Perhaps we are too fussy but we were unimpressed with the shower/ toilet block, only used the loos when desperate otherwise used caravan facilities.

There are two washing up sinks with hot water, and a washing machine, dryer and freezer.

Unfortunately the public footpath to the village of Reedham is still closed for repair work.

The pub is nice and we had a reasonably priced meal here.

Handy for exploring Norfolk, lots of attractions a short car journey away.

We stayed at Reedham Ferry this last August Bank Holiday 2009, having just seen the site on a previous trip.

It's a nice site but the toilet/shower facilities are now so worn out, it just does not compete with many other sites. However our main issue is that they simply needed a good clean. There is no excuse for dirty sinks, toilets and ancient spiders etc.

It's a real shame as in all other respects the site has many good points. The management needs to ensure proper cleaning is undertaken every day.

We stayed here recently and the site was in a good location. Facilities were basic but clean and tidy. Only problem with the showers were that you needed to be in early or the water went cold and there were only 2 showers for the whole campsite.

There was no playground facilities which would have been good for me as I have a small daughter.

There were no shops on site but a small post office in Freethorpe but opening hours unpredictable.

The pub on site was very expensive and slow service, we walked out and found a nice pub in Freethorpe where we went for meals.

I would visit this campsite again as was perfectly located for Great Yarmouth and other places. Also, the manager says they were looking to expand soon so should be better.

This is a pleasant site right next to the ferry with views out across the Broads. Stayed here for one Sunday night in June and had the run of the whole of the top area of the site as there were no other tents there. There were a few picnic tables - so I camped by one of those - which was handy.

The facilities were fine. Nothing special - but clean, and there were lots of drinking water points across the site. My only grumble was that I thought it was expensive at £12 for 1 person in a small tent outside peak season. The most I paid by several pounds on my trip.

The pub next door was pretty good & the food was fine. I would have visited the other pubs in the village but the footpath along the water to town was being renovated, so it would have meant a long walk to get there so I made do with the Ferry Inn.

We were looking for a quiet site for a peaceful, away from it all, weekend break - and we found it. We arrived on Friday at lunchtime and because nobody seemed to be around to ask, called into the pub to see where we should pitch (there is a site board indicating this but we did not spot it at first).
We were camping at the far end of the site on the pitches without electric hook-ups and was pleased to find that there was no restriction on where we could set up our tent. Campers respected each other by leaving a good 6-10 feet between each other.
The site is small and friendly; planted with a tree lined avenue and sits behind a bund which protects it from the wind. It is sited between the River Yare and farmland. There is a moated island, where the gravel roadway splits, and a friendly duck population inhabiting the island.
The site has brick built BBQ's for campers use and supplies several wooden picnic benches. The toilets and showers were only a short walk away and, although they are a bit dated, they were clean and well looked after. The water for the showers was hot and free, however, the water is on a one minute timer and cuts out frequently. The only minor annoyance was, other than a couple of hooks, there was nowhere else to leave clothes and washbags. There was a plug socket for a hairdryer in the ladies. The lean-to housed a pay washing machine and dryer, a free freezer for ice packs and 2 large butler sinks for washing up. There are plenty of leaflets for local attractions and ideas of where to go.

We were accompanied by our Dalmatian who enjoyed the riverside walks and local walks around Reedham. Dogs are welcomed in the bar area of the pub and this was really convenient as we ate in the pub on Saturday night and again on Sunday lunchtime. The food was good although the pub had cut back on their staffing levels and this showed on Sunday when it was busy with locals and tourists alike. If it hadn't have been for a couple of off-duty bar staff that pitched-in, it would have been ages before we got served!

We left on Sunday afternoon and, again, there was nobody asking us to leave the campsite by a certain time. This is a campsite that is quiet and relaxed and should suit people wanting a phone-free, hassle-free break with only birdsong, cows mooing and the sound of the local train rattling past. If you have lively children; want playgrounds, clubhouses and entertainment then you will be very disappointed because you will not find it at this particular site. We will definitely be returning.

This was a superbly quiet site with wonderful views. We set up in pitch 9, which was alongside the raised riverbank, which shielded us from the worst of the wind - right up until it was time to take the tent down!

The pitches are large, and easily swallowed up our 6-berth tent plus sun-awning, car and trailer with room to spare. The toilet block was about 100 yards away, on a gravel roadway that runs around a central moat. There are trees on both sides of the pitches, affording wonderful birdsong.

Pretty clean toilets and washing up facilities, including freezer, washing machine and dryer, and hairdryer point inside the toilet block (ladies side). 3 loos, 2 showers in the ladies. The site owners pretty much left us alone, apart from greeting us on arrival and giving us a welcome pack of keyring plus brochures for local attractions.

Downsides? I'd say this is a wonderful site for folks who fish. Our 9 year old loved feeding the ducks, but to be honest there wasn't anything else for him to do.

The site was pretty empty (I think a max of 9 or so vans and campers) but full there would be no room for any kind of outdoor activity. Very minor niggles, like son getting locked in one of the toilets one night - you need to push the door at the same time as unlocking it! and a wipe around the tops of the cubicles wouldn't go amiss. And of course there's quite a hike to get anywhere from the site itself.

All in all though, really happy with our stay, despite the cold cold nights! A good enough base for Norfolk and some parts of Suffolk over the chain ferry, but not somewhere to stay with children for long.

We booked in for 3 nights at this site over the Easter weekend. There were 3 adults and 3 children in our caravan.

The site itself is found at the end of a quiet country lane. Its position is really lovely for a peaceful break. It is right next to the water and boats moor up regularly. We had plenty of room on our pitch and also put up a large porch awning. Even though the site appeared fully booked, there was still plenty of room between pitches - you weren't on top of each other.

I can't comment on the pub as we didn't go in.

We didn't see/meet the Warden or Owners during the whole of our stay.

Unfortunately we couldn't walk along to the main village of Reedham as the pathway along the river was closed for repair work. However, we just took the car up and this was a beautiful village. You could still walk, but it was a much longer route - however, many people were doing this.

We were happy with the standard of the toilet/shower block. They were always clean, with piping hot water, and we never had to queue despite the site being full.

All in all, a lovely site that is well kept and ideal as a base for exploring the surrounding area. We will definitely use this site when we return to Norfolk.

Just spent a fantastic weekend here. Brilliant site, all flat very spacious pitches. The pub sold fantastic food and 4 good real ales, was a tad expensive but worth it, it definitely didn't stop us. Walked to Berney Arms (and back)around 11 miles although you can catch the train back at 2.20pm. 2 nice pubs all dog friendly in Reedham itself. Loved the site, booked again for May. If you love the outdoors and walking and good ales this is the place for you. Toilet block very clean, didn't use showers, 2 washing up sinks, very hot water and washing up liquid dispenser which was free. Hope this helps.

In a beautiful setting within a beautiful area of Norfolk. We get around by bike and found it very easy, especially the area across the river using the ferry, though was a little overpriced. The site itself was large but plenty of room between pitches, and a nice fishing lake which was pleasant to walk around. Was disappointed with the main footpath alongside the river being closed though. Never used the pub but looked very nice. The only complaint was the showers and toilets which I looked at once and decided they were too old and too filthy to use so used my motorhome shower instead, (which I was very glad we had!) Would definitely visit again though, as surrounding area was picturesque!

Nice site but the toilet and shower areas let this site down. It needs someone to give them a very good clean.

We used the pub showers after complaining to the owners about the dirty condition of the site showers.

It's a shame as the rest of the site and area is lovely. Lets hope this changes as we would love to return.
