What a dissapointment this site was. You know something is amiss when you turn up at a site in the middle of the day and there is no reception.
There was however our names on a big blackboard! We proceeded to an area of the field and started to make camp, after we had cleared up the debris from the area first.
Then our first encounter with a big dog from one of the neighbours! There are signs about dogs on leads etc but when no one is about to complain too then the ignorant of this world will do as they please. It turned out over the next 4 days that it was from a large group that had brought 3 dogs with them, all of which wondered about and did their business where and when they pleased (the dogs not the owners, although that wouldn't of surprised me either).
The site itself is looking very tired and the shower/washing areas are about as filthy and unloved as I've ever encountered. There is a building being built for new facilities but it looks like work stopped there a long time ago and won't be finished anytime soon, and to be honest, shiny toilets will make no difference if the owners don't take care of the rest of the site.
The pub next door was nice, friendly staff, decent food, decent beer if slightly overpriced.
There is a nice walk into the village which has two pubs and a coffee shop, all of which are worth a visit.
I would never visit this site

Just returned from a 4 night break to this site and was very disappointed, we paid for a premium pitch only to find that some of the standard pitches are bigger.
The showers are very dated and have push buttons to keep the water on, the one that I used stayed on for approx 4 seconds, there's nowhere to put you clothes when you take them off just one hook on the back of the door.
The lake on site for fishing is closed for the closed season or so I read on there website but received no info from the warden that they had decided to keep it open I only found out the last day after taking a walk to have a look and found someone fishing and he said its open, would have been nice to have had a choice to fish or not. When the site is full it is a little cramped the pitches down the river side are bigger. Overall very disappointing

Had a short stay at Easter. The site is a real gem, only 32 pitches, all level and grass, about 50/50 EHU and standard.
Very quiet with wonderful views across farmland and situated right next to a river and a pub. There is a little ferry which joins the river banks and being part of the broads, the river is always busy with boats.
The food at the pub was excellent and prices were good too.
The roads on the Loddon side were very small and it's better to come in from the A47 side although still some narrow roads.
The toilet block was clean though very dated but there are signs a new block is under construction.
No children's play facilities as it such a compact site and there is a large lake central to the site.
Booking is a must.

It is truly a lovely spot - no regimented pitches and plenty of space. As the site is almost surrounded by trees it is sheltered and quiet. Don't even try to get Satellite TV!
Lots to watch with the activities on the river and lovely walk into Reedham as previous reviews.
Pub is great, very friendly staff and nice food. Whole place is easy going - pay for pitch at the pub etc.
But - horrid washrooms. Kept clean but I wouldn't dream of using the shower with all the tiles hanging off and a shower head in the ceiling.
Washing up area really dirty with sinks full of spiders and other things! I wonder if the owners would use these facilities especially at £18 per night - compared to caravan club sites with their superb heated loos.
Strange that the shower and toilets in the pub, for use by river boaters who pay just £4 for a mooring, are lovely.

I took my 2 children to this campsite and wasn't sure what to expect. Simply this campsite is the most peaceful place we've ever been. It can be a bit tricky to find if you're coming from Norwich, but there are sign posts to Reedham Ferry.
The pub isd handy being next to the campsite and you have to check in there before you pitch. We had a non electric pitch and had a lovely spot right at the very back of the site. It's a lot smaller than the website shows and I thought it was great. Great Yarmouth is a 20 minute drive away as is Norwich. You can walk along the banks next to the river into Reedham village, where there's a pub, a few shops and boat rentals.
It wasn't overcrowded as the pub seem to be on top of things and have turned people away while I was there, which says they want to keep is as quaint as it is. I didn't mind the price either at £15 a night for a non electric pitch. My children were able to run about freely and not worry. Though there is a bit pond in the middle of the site no one played around it.
There isn't much to do there, so be aware that if you're after a fully functional site with a clubhouse/bar, children's entertainment then this isn't for you.
Bad points: only that the toilet block could be updated but it was clean. It could use an on site shop too.
Other than that I would thoroughly recommend this site for a relaxing week.

Just returned from 8 day visit. Yes the site was small but it was clean and tidy and most of all quiet. We took our caravan and had a pitch with hook up and water. It was the biggest pitch we have ever had.
The shower block was small but I never had to wait for a shower and the water was always hot. For anyone afraid of crossing water (like me !) we didn't have to use the ferry once.
It was approx 11 miles from Gt. Yarmouth. The Archers pub was lovely, very old world. The staff were very friendly. If you don't mind a bit of travelling to get to places, this is a good site to visit.
I must say, the lack of children running around and kicking footballs pleased me.
Taking a good supply of food is also a good idea. We did eat once at The Archers - very nice. We had no problems with our television with aerial on side of caravan.
All in all, I would say good value for money.

We did pre-book as out tent is giant. When we arrived we had to phone the warden who said find somewhere and pitch. So we did in the non electric part. We never did meet the warden, this is a very relaxed site.
The pitches are as big as you want, easy to peg in and level. No road noise, just the sound of wind and wildlife. We took 3 children ages from 8 -13 who enjoyed the site.
The attached pub served nice real ales and the cooked breakfast was very tasty. We found the price reasonable, yes the toilets and showers are old, but was always clean and had hot water.
The first weekend was very busy because of a beer festival, but still didn't have to wait for showers/toilets. Cant think of any real bad points on the site.
You are about 15mins from tesco/asda near Yarmouth or quick shop in the local village 2 mins drive or a lovely 20min walk. This has 2 pubs, we preferred the Lord Nelson as they had live folk singers some nights.

Just got back from Reedham Ferry Touring Park after 3 night/4 day break. We had 1 wonderful summer day, wind of all speeds and directions and rain for hours on end.
This was our second visit and even the weather could not take away how lovely this site is. Toilets & showers could be better but I have certainly seen worse. The shower was very good and always hot. I would certainly not call them filthy.
Even with all the bad weather somehow the floors managed to stay reasonable clean. Full credit to the staff. Love the pub, it's so nice to have a 2 min stroll for a drink at the end of the day.
Only had one meal as it can become a little expensive to eat there daily. Other campers respect your space and there is plenty of room for the car to be beside the tent, caravan etc. ,
Brill walk into the village (you need nice day) shop, fish n chips, pubs dinky little tea shop 'Cup Cake' very nice cream tea !
Not sure there would be enough for children to be on site all day without planning visits to local attractions.
All in all we will be going back again. A perfect chill out break

Just returned from one night stay. Really lovely site in a great spot Probably best for adults due to the pond already mentioned etc. About a mile down the river bank is a nice village with 2 pubs give the first one a miss (smells of dogs and cloudy lager) but the Ship Inn was nice, good pub food and lovely riverside garden.
However we must agree about the facilities. Dirty washing up area, dirty and very old toilets and showers.
Dont agree with the organisation as we don't like things too organised but £15 per night is a bit steep for filthy toilets!

This was our 1st visit to Reedham Ferry / Archers touring park and it won't be the last, the site is well kept, quiet and almost snooker table level,
The pitches are well spaced and the largest we have seen thus far, so large in fact that you have a choice of how you set up, either the traditional 'tail in first' or long ways on, giving you the option to have your awning facing the site,
The site it-self has all the usual amenities toilet/shower block ( new block scheduled to be built September this year), pot washing area, laundry and chemical waste disposal point,
Added to this anglers visiting this site have the option to fish the adjacent river for free or use the well stocked fishing pond on site, the pond could be fished( at the time of our visit) for £5. 00 half day or £7. 50 the full day. As a purely pleasure, fine weather fisherman I had plenty of fun on this pond hitting into some nice mid sized mirror carp, but plenty of sport to be had with the small species too.
Reedhamn Ferry site is also dog friendly and has it's own dog walk, the 'ferryman' pub is also dog friendly as is the 'lord nelson ' in Reedham village, usual guidelines for your pets behaviour on site apply
The television reception was excellent too either with a directional antenna or sat' dish
If it's food and drink your after then this site is for you, the pub at the site entrance the 'ferryman', doe's a large range of pub meals at reasonable prices and they don't scrimp on the portions either. They offer a selection of local real ale's as well as the more traditional wines, beers and spirits, as the pub is right on the river bank, you can eat and drink next to the water as you watch the canal cruisers go by.
Alternatively take the scenic river side walk (approx 20 mins), as we did several times, into Reedham village it's self where you'll find 'the lord nelson' and 'the ship' pubs both serving good priced food and drinks and both worth the walk as they are as different to each other as chalk and cheese.
Whilst in Reedham you'll also find the post office, fish & chip shop as well as a small general store.
A short 10 minute walk from the site is Reedham train station, where you can get to places such as Cromer ( a really lovely little sea side town well worth a visit), in just over an hour, or the historic city of Norwich (approx 20min train ride) with it's cosmopolitan bars, cafes and restaurants as well as it's historic castle and open air market.
Great Yarmouth itself is only a short trip by train away too (approx 15 min).
As our own kids have all grown up and flown the nest, I can't comment on how child friendly the site is and to be honest, we didn't see any kids on the site during our week long stay.
In short Reedham Ferry is a well run, well situated site, that is firmly at the top of our favourites list and one we will be visiting again
