Stayed here for the weekend in our tent.

It is a very relaxing site, with flat level pitches. The wind was whistling through the tall trees but the reeds kept us well sheltered.

The warden is friendly and welcoming.

The toilets and showers are a bit cramped, but for a weekend, not a problem.

The campsite ducks can smell food cooking and will soon appear outside your door after tit-bits.

The pub is nice, we didn't eat there just a quick pint when we arrived. £3 per pint, so take out a mortgage if you are with a big family.

We tried to walk along an overgrown path adjacent to the river, which was closed after a short distance, a warning sign at this end of it would have saved a tramp through the overgrowth.

We tried to walk the other way towards Reedham village, but just as overgrown, so gave up.

The best bet to get into Reedham village is along the road, and well worth it. Keep going right through the village and you will come to the bit by the river.Lovely spot with two nice pubs.

It's about 15 miles to get into Great Yarmouth, crossing the river on the ferry would be quicker, but at over £3 per crossing, it is a luxury we can do without.

If you go to Great Yarmouth, park on the backstreets near the football ground, free parking on street and not too far to walk into the town.

Great site, great area, we will certainly go there again.

We visited this lovely site for the second time in June having previously been in June 2006. Once again we found it to be a nice peaceful site, next to the River Yare, with everything we needed close by. The site is nice and flat with spacious pitches, we didn't have an awning with us on this occaision, but if we did we would still have room to spare.

We found the staff of the site and the waiting on staff in the pub to be very helpful and friendly. They even let our two rather large Labradors into the pub, when we got rained on in the beer garden!

The pub serves excellent food which we partook of on three occaisions, and we can recommend it highly, as being from a farming background we definatly appreciate their use of local produce cooked to perfection.

We had a wonderfully peaceful week, and could find no faults.

Arrived on site on the Sat morning, still in the middle of setting up and the man arrived to collect the money, he could have let us get the kettle on! This is our second visit to this site, last time we found the showers very dirty, full of cobwebs etc, but this time we did see a marked improvement, there was only one large cobweb (with spider) in the toilet nearest the washing up area. Plenty of hot water although holding the tap to keep the shower running was a pain. There's nowhere to leave wash things or dry clothes in the shower cubicles only a few hooks, and as there is only two showers, over this busy bank holiday there was queues.

The field for recreation i.e ball games, was closed as the ditches were being drained, due to severe flooding last year. Also the tow path walk for the dogs was closed off. We feel we should have been told about this at the time of booking, as we have two dogs and three children.

There is nothing for the children to do and we had the usual moans from some about them playing ball! We went for a meal in the pub on the sunday evening, but unfortunately, our friends who were also there woke at four the next morning with bad tummys. Talking to another caravaner, he also was ill the next morning. We wont be going back as we feel there is not enough there for families.

On the plus side their prices are very good and do not charge extra for awnings, dogs, children under 16 or visitors.

Have used this campsite on and off since the mid 90s, yes the toilet /showers are inadequate but this is one of the most peaceful campsites I have visited and can only agree to all previous similar comments.
The Camra recommended pub by the site entrance is a main plus point and even mid week in September most tables were reserved as is to be expected at this Broads premier pub. Unfortunately the village now only has two pubs and one of these being temporary closed leaving the picturesque Ship as the only survivor.
This is a great campsite for leaving the car behind as the walk to the village is very pleasant or to the station where the trains to either Norwich or Lowestoft can be caught, we have often seen Marsh Harrier and Barn Owl from this walk.
There is a train to Great Yarmouth but is very limited. We also walked along the river bank past the Cantley sugar beet factory to the Reedcutter pub (about 3 miles) which is open all day then back along the country lanes, however a train can be caught back to Reedham village.
Disagree regarding comments about the warden, he took 4 days to get to us for payment. One final warning beware of the ducklings as they are in the habit of just waddling in to help themselves to anything edible and is not the best of campsites for children with the water about.

Absolutely idyllic site. Set on the banks of the bustling Broads.
Lovely space around pitches and own duck pond! What more could you ask for?.
Toilet block very old fashioned, which is not really a problem, but there is no excuse for them being not clean. Loose toilet seats, so much so that my 4 year old ended up on the floor. Hand towel ( big blue roller type dispenser ) was all pulled out over the floor when we arrived and was still exactly the same when we left 4 days later. The showers are up 2 steps onto a duckboard, the shower head is fixed in the ceiling, very dark and very grim. They were closed for cleaning each morning, and there was truly no before and after! No difference whatsoever!

Such a shame, because the site is fab and would be fully booked I am sure constantly if only the toilet blocks were clean.
There are facilities in the next door pub for boaters, and these are more modern and much cleaner. We will return because we love the area so much, and the site is lovely, we will just use the pub facilities in future, which is an excellent excuse for a pint.

A lovely, small site right next to the chain ferry. Facilities are basic but clean and there are enough of them. It is worth using the free pub showers as they are bigger and more modern. It is in a lovely location. No play area for the children but there is plenty of space to run around. The Reedham ferry inn is a great pub. We had our dog with us and we had to walk about 5 minutes to the river footpath to let him off, which was fine, he was also allowed in the pub. Reedham itself is interesting, there is a revolving railway bridge to let the boats through. You can pitch your tent where you like- no strict pitches, which we liked.

Came across this campsite whilst touring around the area.  It was marked on the map we were using and then signposted from the road from Acle.
Phoned the warden then just pitched up. Warden collected money at about 10am the following morning.  We did think it was quite expensive, but it had fairly good facilities: 3 toilets and 2 showers per sex, 2 washing up sinks, freezer (good for ice packs), washing machine and dryer.
We liked the fact that we could choose where to pitch our tent in the non-hook-up area of the campsite.  Even though it was mid-August, there was plenty of room and loads of space between tents.  It was lovely and quiet and the ducks and ducklings were a pleasure to watch plopping into the pond in the middle of the site.  There are lovely water-way walks too.  The area isn't at all commercialised so was ideal for a quiet retreat.
Mr Archer owns the campsite, pub and ferry.  He's making a mint on the ferry(!) and could do with keeping the campsite facilities clean and spider-free but the pub was good for local ales and food.
I would definitely recommend this site to people who just want to have some peace and quiet.

Had a great week at the Reedham Ferry though would agree that the toilet facilities could do with an upgrade. But that said I would go back as the site is otherwise excellent. Very quite and well laid out. Some pitches are a bit tight when the site is full, but in the main there is plenty of space.

No reception, but the warden can be contacted by phone and is usually only round the corner either at the ferry or the pub, which owns the site. Its a very friendly place and you immediately feel very much at ease and start to unwind. The pub is very popular with both campers and boaters and booking for meals is advisable. The village a mile away has three more pubs , a chippy and a local store . It is a pleasant walk on the river ban into the village.

The site is screened by large trees which is good for keeping cool , but not so good if you want to sit in the sun. Plenty to see and do in the area or just relax by the river.

A very pleasant site which I will certainly be going back to.

This is a lovely quiet site that I really like and have visited twice. My last visit was with my brother and his family and they too enjoyed the setting.

There are two brick built BB Q's at the end of the non-serviced pitches which are a nice touch.

The pub next door is very nice although I did not use it on this occasion.

The toilets and showers are cramped and I found the showers to be not very clean. However the water was always piping hot. There is a campaign to upgrade them which would be the icing on the cake.

The washing up facilities are good and there is a freezer for ice-packs. Another nice touch.

Overall a very good site that I will visit time and time again.

A lovely quiet site situated next to the peaceful broads.  Facilities were very clean and the staff were friendly.  A good base for sightseeing Norfolk

Pitches were excellent and large with electric hook up next to tent.  The pub/restaurant next door was lovely.

Point to note there is no reception, just a board outside site that tells you where your pitch is.  Just pull up and pitch, someone comes round to check you are ok.  You can order a paper to be delivered every morning, just look out for the fellow and his moped.

A site I will definitely use again when I want some peace and quiet.  We enjoyed the smallness of the site.
