Just had a fantastic week here. Site is very clean and tidy with large flat pitches. We booked a premier pitch which was more than ample for our x large tent, windbreak and car space. The showers and toilets were lovely and we never had a problem with the showers not being warm enough as other reviews have stated. There was always plenty of hot water even when the site got busier at the weekend. There were ducks on the pond in the middle of the site, very picturesque and the most amazing sunsets. There is an excellent pub and restaurant on site. We ate there twice and had lovely meals both times, dogs are welcome in the bar area which was nice. Lovely walk into Reedham village and Great Yarmouth was about a 25 minute drive away. The site accommodates children, there is no play area although plenty of grass to play on. Will definitely return here.

Just come back from a present three days at this camp site. The site was clean and tidy and well maintained and nice and quiet, also dog friendly and to top it all there was a large carp lake next door with some seizable fish to be had. I managed a PB with a carp weighing in at 16lb 3oz.
Had a nice meal one evening in the ferry inn which was quite busy in the evenings and friendly staff both at the touring park and the pub.
We did take a little jaunt into Reedham by the swing bridge, a picturesque village to be had, a word of warning to anybody though, steer well clear of The Lord Nelson pub on the river front, by far not the cleanest of pubs to be found and the smell on entering the establishment was enough to make one gag!
But the Ship Inn a few yards down next to the swing bridge was very pleasant or though eating in the dining room under a ceiling adorned with 'goesunders' was a rather new experience, but the food more than compensated with a reasonable price tag.
Just as a footnote, if your unit is of a sizeable length, you may have a problem if you approach from the wrong side and need to cross the river on the chain ferry. It won't fit!
All in all, well recommended if it is the quiet life your looking for with a good smattering of fishing thrown in.

Is it us ? Reading other reviews makes me wonder if we were in the right place ! This is in a lovely location, but, the setup could be better. Everything looks very tired and neglected and could do with smartening up. On our arrival we didn't notice the blackboard, but when we did, saw that we had been designated a pitch, so not able to choose for ourselves. I'm sure there must be a warden there somewhere, but invisible to us and in fact, we never saw anyone in authority the whole time we were there, and even had to go to the pub to ask to pay for our 4 nights! No garbage bins for first 2 days until we asked about them and generally all very haphazard. The pub smelt of old cooking fat and the food was very mediocre. No light choices at all. There's a nice riverbank walk to Reedham and plenty of flora and fauna to spot, and plenty of boats tootling about. We can't comment on the shower and toilet facilities, as we use our own on-board ones. The good thing is that we had a premier pitch with grey water waste facilities and a drinking water supply plus a light. Not sure that we'll return there.

Having just returned from this campsite I felt I had to leave a review. We've visited this site for three or four years now. The location is good and there are lovely walks along the river to Reedham & Cantly where you can let dogs off lead for a fair stretch of the way. Reedham Ferry is very accommodating if you want a meal in the pub and have dogs(you have to book early to avoid disappointment as there is limited seating in the pub as dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant). Food selection is good and so is the quality along with friendly service.
A new toilet and shower block opened last year and during this period we have visited the site on three separate occasions and have had freezing or luke warm showers, this is such a shame as when camping early or late in the season when the outdoor temperature is still very cold a hot shower is something all campers look forward to. This will not stop us visiting the campsite again in the future but it is a niggle which would probably be quite simple to resolve. There is a shower at Reedham Ferry which campers can use so I thought I'd try that instead of using the facilities on the campsite however this shower was also freezing cold, this could have been bad luck on my part but we heard many other campers complaining about the lack of hot water for washing and showering. The washing up water seemed to come from a different source as this appeared to be constantly hot. On the whole a nice, friendly site.

Our stay at this campsite was a mixture of good and bad points. I'll start with the good points -
On arrival, greeted and shown where to pitch our tent. The campsite is beautiful. Right next to Reedham ferry and the Norfolk broads. Tranquil, tree lined site with duck pond in the middle of the site. Pitched in non electric area which means no pitch is allocated so you can pick your pitch.
And now for the bad points - stone cold showers ! Made worse by lovely under floor heating which was Definitely warmer than the showers. Also would never recommend the pub next to the site - as served rotten food to us 4 times !

We have just returned from our second stay at this site. As always the fishing is fantastic and the site clean and very pleasant. However I feel I have to comment on the new toilet block.
Whilst the under floor heating is lovely, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. May be its was just the end of season and there were only a few campers on the site, but cleaning should be more than empty the bins and fill up the loo rolls!
In the end we just used the old facilities which were much cleaner.
In spite of the above which is easily rectified we will return as its such a gem of a site.

We have just spent a lovely few days at this site and have only positive feedback, but I would like to make future site users aware that if using a sat nav you may, as happened to us, end up the other side of the river which necessitated either a 24 mile detour or using the ferry. This was quite challenging towing our caravan - not for the faint hearted!
The site is well laid out and has excellent toilet and shower facilities. The well maintained fishing lake contains good size roach, rudd and some elusive large carp. The pub is convenient, friendly staff and some excellent local beers. The brewery in Reedham is worth a visit

I am in two minds whether to submit a review, because it means sharing this gem of a site!
We have today (28/06/13) just left the site having spent 6 nights here in our Kampa Filey 6 tent. We had asked for a large pitch (due to tent) with electric and when we arrived our name was on the blackboard by the pitch number.
The sign posts pointed us easily to our site and we had more than enough space.
At Reedham Ferry there are 3 things: a camp site with fishing lake, a pub with restaurant and a ferry.
We were after a peaceful base from which we could explore Norfolk. This was it and it met our requirements and exceeded our expectations.
Facilities : free warm showers (take your own over the door hooks - the steam from the showers makes the glue on the plastic sticky hooks weak), clean toilets, washing up area with HOT water, coin operated washing machine (£3 per wash) & drier (£1 for 20 to 30 mins ish - 2 goes got a load that included 2 pairs of jeans dry). Toilet & grey water disposal point, recycling & bins. Grass pitches of decent size and easy to peg tent down. Grass was cut whilst we were there, but not too short.
Small on site duck pond (complete with ducks, ducklings, moorhen & chick, wagtails) was simply picturesque within the trees that rustled in the breezes, but still provided shelter.
Sunsets were lovely to watch and the falling tree pollen made it look just magical.
We used the site to travel (via car) all around Norfolk. We visited Wroxham (had a boat trip along the Wroxham Broad for an hour in the sunshine), Cromer (had a fantastic crab salad at the Jetty Cafe), Great Yarmouth (spent £1 in the arcade and came out with £2. 50 profit), Beccles (wonder round the shops), outskirts of Norwich (lunched at The Reindeer - lovely Sunday roast), Royal Norfolk Agricultural Show (great fun, we weren't expecting it, but went anyway & had some lovely food, honey & cider).
We had aimed to drive back from Cromer via the coast. We went through a place called Eccles-on-Sea. Be warned, this village is an off road driving experience - they have no Tarmac, but we only grounded the car once and feel we got off lightly.
The site was always a peaceful welcome return home after exploration. We even 'had a go' of the chain ferry (£4 for the car) to get to Beccles.
We ate last night in the pub (save on washing up) and completely regretted having a starter as neither of us could finish our mains! The traditional fish & chips was stunning and hardly fitted on the plate! Friendly & efficient service from the team.
I love this site and feel we have discovered a lovely hidden gem. Peace & tranquillity - an escape from real life.
So thank you for a lovely hideaway.

Just got back from a very peaceful week here, the new amenity block is superb, Although it could do with a shelf to put your accessories on & maybe a couple more hooks on the doors when using the showers. The ferry inn at the entrance is dog friendly and serves a number of different brews to try, the food there is excellent & the staff there are very welcoming & friendly. The local village ( Reedham ) is about a 20 minute walk alongside the river where there is a post office, local shop and a chippie along with another couple of pubs ( try the Ship at the far end near the swingbridge, the food served in the beer garden is excellent ). All in all a very peaceful site and we will be booking again soon

Just got back from a very peaceful weekend here, the new amenity block is superb although its totally unsuitable for disabled access.
