We stayed the 2nd week in August and had a premium electric pitch we found this section very closed in. The whole site was a lot smaller than the pictures show. There is no warden the info of your allocated pitch is chalked on the black board as you enter. The site is clean and grass is cut toilets are cleaned daily however what I found very disturbing was coming out of the female shower cubical at 9. 15 on a Sunday morning, to find a male cleaning the ladies toilet block I was using, there had been no call out to advise he was coming in just the out side door of the block propped open with a broom! I thought this very wrong. The location is great the pub is good just a little overpriced. Lots of fishing and boating /canoeing available the field next door is great for playing games. But I, ll not be back.

We spent 4 nights at this lovely site in early June & what a great site it is. The pitches are nice & large, the toilets & shower block were spotless with plenty of hot water. The food at the pub was excellent & had a good choice of local ales. If you like fishing as I do the lake is very well stocked with some nice size carp, I couldn't fish the river as the season hadn't started.
We enjoyed it so much we are going back in July.

We arrived to find our name on the blackboard at the entrance along side pitch 7 which turned out to be quite large with plenty of room for our tent the tarp and car. There is no reception so if you need to see someone you have to go to the inn.
We paid £96 for 5 nights with electric which seemed good value when compared with some sites we looked at.
The campsite fees are paid at the bar and they take credit cards.
The Reedham Ferry Inn at the entrance to the campsite was handy for a drink and had a seating area on the riverbank where you can watch the ferry and boats going by, we had a meal there on the last night which we both enjoyed and where served quicky.
The new shower block was clean with plenty of hot water, soap and hand dryers. The dishwashing area at the old shower block was a little scruffy but again had plenty of hot water and a small freezer and washing machine.
We where lucky to have good weather for September and it was a nice 20 minute walk along the river bank into Reedham where we called in at the Ship a few times for a drink we didn, t eat there but it looked to be popular with people going in for meals.
The other pub in the village the Lord Nelson now looks to be closed, there's also a post office, coffee shop and a fish and chip shop. There is also a railway station on the edge of the village.
There is pond in the middle of the site and the resident ducks made regular visits looking to be fed.
There is a lot of deep water around the site and we concerned one day to see a toddler wandering around the pond with no sign of the parents, Young children do need to be supervised.
Most of the time it was nice and peaceful with the only sound being the local wildlife the only problem being 2 couples on a nearby pitch who could not do anything quietly whether it was 7am or 10pm if they where on site and awake the whole site new they where there when one of the couples left peace returned, We where assured by other campers who were regular visitors that they were the exception not the norm.
Its not a local site for us but would visit again if we were in the area, Tempted to return next year but on a boat after watching them sail past.

What a lovely place!
Situated right by the Broads and with a pub just a few yards away.
Good size pitches and very quiet and peaceful.
The nearby ferry saves a considerable amount of journey time if you're heading there from the south of the site.
It's a very relaxed place with a really modern shower and toilet block that was spotlessly clean.
Couldn't fault the place.

This was our first visit to Reedham Ferry. We stayed for 5 nights and unconventionally Thursday till Tuesday, which is good as some sites make you book a week during school holidays! We had electric hook up and water on our pitch(premium)and all worked well. Pitches were spacious and you didn't feel crammed in. They have 2 shower and toilet blocks to my knowledge one of which is obviously the old block and one new block. They could possibly have been a tad cleaner, but all in all not bad at all. We thought we'd have a meal at the pub which is a minutes walk from the site quite literally! Unfortunately it wasn't great. Which was a crying shame as it could be so good! We had booked and pre-ordered our meals so we had built up our expectations a little as we thought they must be good. Shops are in Acle which is about 5-6 miles from site. There is a post office nearer by. We thought it would be a nice idea if the pub sold local bacon/sausages, eggs and milk possibly a news paper. All was quiet by 11pm most nights. The non hook up field doubled as a brilliant place for the children to let off steam, fly a kite and kick a football round. There is open water on the site but my children never went near it!
All in all a nice site!

Just returned from a fabulous 12 night stay at Reedham and will definitely return in the future. The camp site is a spitting distance walk to the edge of the broads and the Ferry Inn where you can sit and watch the boats sail on by while you sip your glass of fancy! The food at the Ferry Inn was lovely and the ladies who served there are a credit to such a beautiful place, so friendly and accommodating. A walk along the river will take you to the next fabulous pub called The ship which is directly on the river too and you can watch the swing bridge move to allow the train to cross and the boats go past when the bridge is shut. There are a couple of things that would improve the site - Firstly, perhaps the Ferry Inn could allow you to purchase your basics (bread, milk etc) but a brisk walk along the river will take you to the little shop that will do or make sure you get them when you're out for the day. Secondly, I picked this site deliberately because it doesn't have a 'children's playground' As you drive in - you will see a board with your name and you can make your way to the pitch without seeing anyone at all. But as there is no 'warden' as such, children will play ball directly in front of your caravans/tents. Now it wasn't a major issue, but people who want a bit of peace may get slightly annoyed with this because the whole point of a huge field away from the caravans and still within site is useful for parents to tell their children to go there. There is no sign to say No Ball Games around the actual caravans. Pitches are flat, good and spacious. Toilets are clean and never a queue as there is the older one as well as a modern new one. All in all an absolute gem of a site and highly recommended.

We spent 12 nights at this site from 20 July 2014, 2 adults, a 11 year old and a dog.
we were allocated pitch 7, was was huge and had electric. The site is very flat and ideal for al campers, the on site was a nice feature and a short walk across a field takes you to a well stocked fishing pond, I went one afternoon and had 8 carp up to 11lb, all on floating baits.
The facilities here are very good and clean, showers are perfect.
Our days out are a little restricted with having a dog but we had great days out at, Great Yarmouth, Sea Palling (a must as the sea and sand are perfect)Wroxham, Norwich, Beccles and many other places.
I agree with a previous post regarding the pub food, over priced for what it is but has lots of real ales.
Nearby town is Acles, it has a very nice chip shop and Indian takeaway, both give very large portions and at a good price.
Overall I would recommend this site and its a lovely part of the UK to explore, we will be back in the future for sure.

Just back from a 5 night stay at this site and will be going back at some point for sure. We chose this site as it is near the boat yard that we have hired a boat from in September and found it to be an ideal place to operate out from.
Arrived to find that we had been allocated pitch 3, a sizeable and easy pitch to reverse the caravan onto. They are marked with boundary's which are clearly visible. The site itself is small with a number of standard and premier pitches. When going again, we will request either pitch 31, which is secluded, tucked away in a corner, or either 9 or 10 which are in front of the pond. These appear to be bigger in size with the view of the pond in front of you.
Toilets are nice and clean, the new block as previously mentioned by other posters, living up to it's reputation. Did not use the showers as we prefer to use those in our van, but did have a look and found them to be clean and tidy. One criticism is at the waste disposal point where both toilet and grey water waste have to be lifted a considerable height to dispose. Ok for the likes of myself who can lift easily, but may present a problem for others.
Reedham village is nice, a couple of pubs and a small convenience store. Took a walk along the river front, lots to see and plenty of wildlife eager to be fed!
We took the train to Lowestoft from the local station where there is a small car park, free for a change! Stopped off at Oulton Broad on the way back, a very nice place, well worth a visit if you like a boat or two! Caister and Great Yarmouth are also within easy reach, either by car or again, by the train.
Took a trip on the ferry to the other side with the car, just for the sheer hell of it really and went off to Beccles for a look around the marina. As has been stated, sat nav can send you the wrong way, as a mile down the road, we came face to face with an artic! Fellow campers told me later in the evening that the driver managed to turn it round by the ferry. No mean task given the room that was available to do this!
The pub on site is nice with a selection of local brews at a reasonable price. We decided to have a meal, dog was allowed in as well as long as in the bar area, but was very disappointed with it. Having waited almost an hour after ordering it, the meal arrived after prompting the staff. We were told that staff shortages were to blame, but others in after us had had theirs and almost finished. Middle of the season and no staff? I had the steak and ale pie, Max had the chicken melt, but this was terribly burned and the chips overdone. Mentioned to the waiting staff, and the reply was, sorry, hope you can still enjoy it. Portions were small in my opinion and I think overpriced. £10 for pie and chips!????, bit steep I think.
That aside, the staff in the pub were polite and helpful. Special thanks to Simon the electrician, and Paula, who were both very helpful when we had electrical problems after a very heavy storm on arrival.
Overall, as said, a very nice place to be, well worth the 4 hour tow over from Derbyshire!.

Very nice site. We had pitch 12 with electric. It was a really big pitch - plenty of room for tent and car and close to the shower block. The site is really clean and tidy; quiet too. It's quite a small site and ideal for those who like a more traditional site. The showers were clean (and free!) and unlike some previous reviews the showers were hot so it looks like they have sorted out the water heating problems. Previous reviewers have mentioned lack of hooks and places to put things in the showers and that was the only thing I thought that they could do with sorting out (but I'm sure they will get around to it in time).
The site also had washing up facilities, built in BBQ in the non-electric area, bricks for putting BBQs on, a small chest freezer for ice blocks (free) and a washing machine and tumble dryer. I thought it was an excellent site and fairly cheap - we paid £36 for 2 nights with electric (8 man tent).
The location is really good - with the pub next door and the river nearby. Walking to the village takes about 10-15 mins along the river. There was a decent chip shop in the village and a small convenience store. Someone earlier mentioned the Lord Nelson being smelly and I thought they were exaggerating - they were not - the stinkiest pub I've ever been in and it looks so nice from the outside. It smelled like a mixture of dirt, stale beer and wet dogs. One drink and we were off - we wiped our feet on the way out. The other pub, the Ship, was much nicer. The Reedham Ferry pub was good and seemed cheaper than the others - decent pub grub too - good portions.
The little ferry is interesting to watch while you're having a drink - £4 to cross with a normal car, a bit more with a caravan/trailer; very useful as it saves a long drive around via the road.
I'd definitely stay here again.

Another enjoyable visit to Reedham Ferry, pity about the weather, we were sited on premier pitch no 30 a very large pitch with enough space to accommodate our caravan awning and car with room to spare. Site facilities have vastly improved with the installation of the new toilet block. The site in our opinion is very reasonable considering the the Premier pitch costs of £20 off season and only £22 in the High season with the added benefit of a on site old English Pub. A fishing lake and a quaint old chain ferry across the river. Great area for lovely walks along the river to Reedham Harbour Village which is idyllic with its local shops cafes and two pubs, the post office sells groceries and news papers. The on site pub is very comfy for just having a quiet drink or to savour the excellent food. With regard to the pub we must mention a special thanks to the duty manager Paula and her staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. With the above in mind we will certainly be returning in the near future to this great location.
