A slow and relaxing lifestyle awaits you in Norfolk.
We stayed at the Archers Touring Park in Reedham in our tent with 3 Labradors.
Nothing was a problem on site. In fact this site is so relaxed it really is disappointing when you leave for home, although to find someone on site is a bit of a challenge sometimes.
We were amazed with the maintenance staff who do an amazing job but were very friendly and helpful to us – the man in the grass cutting machine (apologies don’t know your name), Simon, his partner and the young lad who maintains the shower block etc.
We did not eat at the Reedham Ferry this time we thought it was a bit expensive and the choice was not as good as we’d experienced in previous years e.g. before we could get salmon in peppercorn and brandy sauce which we would have paid for as thought this was a bit special.
Whilst we were there the toilets did become a bit disappointing but the site was hosting 2 very large groups of young people and did suddenly become incredibly busy.
The Archers is a very picturesque site from which you can spot a lot with binoculars e. G. Herons, Deer, Swans with Cygnets, Bulls, Cows and we did even see a snake on one of our walks from Reedham to Cantley.
From the Archers you can walk into Reedham and visit the Lord Nelson and the Ship we liked both of these.
Reedham Ferry Archers has a freezer for use but we were there off peak and it was just about full really.
It also has a washer and a drier for use at a fair price, so take some surf etc. And lenor if you think you might need this.
The Reedham Ferry Inn also has a shower for use by boaters – if the loos were being cleaned we just used the shower in the pub which my wife liked better than the one on the camp site because it was low and did not drench her hair as much hence less need for drying and straightening!
Adnams Broadside was an ale we enjoyed here.
The thing worth mentioning is that all the pubs we visited on most days closed at 3 pm and reopened at 5 or 6 and did not do food all day so this is worth checking out in advance to avoid disappointment.
Yes the facilities could do with an update but we understand that this is in hand.

Quite a nice small site, but as previous reviewers have said a bit disorganised with regard to where to put your caravan and car. It's right next to the ferry so quite quaint to watch and walk along the canal bank. But in the toilet and shower block water was cold and everything got soaked. There are only two toilets and showers for men and the same for woman. They really do want urgently updating!
It's a bit of a trek to Norwich city so I wouldn't use it as a base to visit Norwich.

We found this site had good points - fees were reasonable, area was peaceful and pretty, showers were very hot and our pitch was massive!
Yes, some of the pitches are smaller (especially if you want to be near the toilet)and the toilets aren't that clean (but I've seen worse.
There is nowhere for kids to kick a ball about safely but a swingball, snail racing and taking the bikes kept the kids occupied.
We would go back - in fact we tried to get in for the bank holiday - but be aware people were limiting their stay to the Yarmouth side of the river as the ferry costs do add up. You can get to Beccles etc on the other side but this involves a long ride round. We were told that the campsite and ferry were owned by the same people so they are onto a good thing!

This is a small-ish, picturesque grass site, located about 1 mile from the village of Reedham. The site is located immediately beside the chain ferry across the river and beside a pub / restaurant. The reception was very friendly, helpful and informal.
The site is laid-out around a small pond with trees for dappled shade with lovely views across the adjacent countryside. Note, if you have small children, that there is no fence around the pond.
The toilet block is small and tired and the shower cubicles are very small. Dish-washing, a freezer and laundry facilities are supplied. Reliable TV reception was difficult to obtain with our Avtex mobile aerial.
The pub ('The Archers') was friendly and the choice of local beers was good. We didn't try the food.
There's a great walk along the river embankment to the village of Reedham, where there are a couple of small shops, a great tea-shop ('Cupcakes'), which we recommend, and two pubs, both beside the river. 'The Ship' has a marvellous garden and a warm welcome.
The local station connects to Gt Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich.

Just come back from a 5 day stay at this site. A lovely site, very flat and nicely laid out. We were right next to the little lake in the centre of the park. This was lovely, and whilst loads of children were playing around it, parents should be aware that this lake is not fenced off.
The facilities were fine, although one niggle was that the toilets / showers were hosed out regularly, but never dried afterwards, meaning the floors were wet all of the time, even on hot sunny days, I dread to think the state it gets in on rainy days.
The pub next door was lovely- loved the cider! The food was also nice, and the seating area right next to the river was great to sit and watch the world go by.
On the whole, a nice site, good base for exploring that I would definitely revisit.

First word of warning is to check your details on your satnav! We followed ours and ended up the other side of the broads, having to spend an extra £6 to travel across by the car ferry! According to the ferryman he makes a roaring trade!
Now to the site - having spent three, rather disappointing nights at this site, I thought it best to post an up-dated review. Firstly, the site is not spacious, indeed there was nowhere for the children to kick a ball around or even play. The caravans, tents and cars are so close together that we struggled to manoeuvre our car in and out of our spot.
There doesn't seem to be any rules about how you place your van / car / caravan / tent, so consequently there seemed to be vehicles everywhere - not good when there are children trying to kick balls in such tiny areas, our car was hit several times.
Secondly the toilet and shower block leave an awful lot to be desired. Although my son was lucky enough to get one hot shower by visitng the block at teatime, the rest of us wanting a shower in the morning or evening had to put up with freezing cold water. There were many people, especially ones with young children complaining about this. The flooring in the unit was tiled, and as there was constant water on the floor it was lethal, not to mention very muddy.
For the three days we were there the sinks were not cleaned, there was the same hair clips, hair and soap scum over the sinks from the time we got there to the time we left. The bins were overflowing, as was the recycling area - a haven for wasps come the summer.
Our other concern was the deep pond area in the middle of the site with absolutely no fencing surrounding it, rather a worry if you want a safe area for your children to charge around.
On a positive note, the owner, whom we only saw once seemed pleasant, the surrounding area was very pretty, if you have children Bewilderwood is well worth a visit, you are only half an hour away from Norwich and Great Yarmouth so we did spend the majority of our time away from the site.

The site is a little different from the pictures on the web site where it shows a river next to the pitches there is a large grassed flood bank.
The toilet/shower block is too small for the site and is in needs updating badly and cleaning at a better time than 8.30 in the morning when everyone needs the showers or toilets they close them for over half an hour.
We found the pub expensive £8.50 for a Sunday dinner (roast beef or chicken)£9.95 for fish and chips. If do go to this site remember to bring your food supplies before you go as there is no shops with in walking distance.
We will not be going back unless they update the toilet / shower block they spoilt the site and got a warden for the site to greet you when you pull on site.

Had a very good time on this site. It was are first trip out in our nearly new caravan.
The site was very clean. The wash room shower where all fine we did not use the washing machine facility’s.
The walk along the river was very nice and we enjoyed this once on Saturday morning and again on Sunday morning.
The only complaint came from our twelve year old daughter the geese woke her up to early. I am now thinking about investing in some geese
We loved our stay and we will return very soon for longer and this time try the pub we had so much to do we were spoilt for choice.

We spent one night here. A fairly small campsite but very well kept. Didn't use any of the facilities so cannot comment on them. The pub next door was very good. The footpath was still closed which was a shame, and could be for some time. We were told it was okay to go through the gate at the back of the site for a walk, which we did, but beware there are cattle in the surrounding fields, although they were properly fenced off. The village was a short 5 minute walk. A very nice site but nowhere to let dog run free so we probably won't return. There was a lot of deep water surrounding the site which was properly fenced off and plenty of signage around. There was some confusion who to pay our site fee to so we paid in the pub, which they were happy to do.

Site is in very nice area surrounded by trees, very spacious, and nicely kept, shame about toilet and shower block which needs updating, we were in our touring caravan so we could use our own shower etc. Cannot comment on pub/restaurant as we didn't use it. Footpaths along the river still closed for repair which is a shame as we have 2 dogs and were restricted for walking them as road into reedham village was very narrow and there was no footpath to walk on. Nothing for small children to do as there is no play area, so have to make your own entertainment.
