We visited the camping and caravan site in May 2013. There is the ferry which will take you across the river for £4. 00 per car, this saves travelling around. The ferry pub next door does excellent food, so pay a visit when you go. The staff are very helpful and cheerful, which helps to make your holiday.
The campsite was clean and tidy. The new facility block had under floor heating. There was only a electric shaver plug, so you will need an adapter if you require to dry your hair. The showers are free. Take a bag in with you as there is only one hook on the door to hang your clothes.
Take a walk into the village too and visit the Ship Inn good food here too. The Nelson Pub was smelly and had a dirty smelly carpet in the ladies toilets so give this a miss and keep to the Ferry pub or the Ship inn.
Try and visit the Humpty Dumpty brewery next to the Petti activity farm and the Woodfordes Bewery where you can buy the local bottled bear.
Try and visit the broads to and watch the boots go by. Have a relaxing time and enjoy your holiday.

I have been reading the revues on this camp-site and wondering if I visited a different one.
On arrival you see a blackboard with your name on it next to a pitch number, the pitch is easy to find, but on the pitch we were allotted there was someone on it, in fact the unit was using up two pitches, we contacted the manager on the phone he duly arrived and reallocated a new pitch. Without someone on site to marshal the campers this type of incident will happen from time to time, the site seemed to be in need of some general maintenance, grass cutting, tidying up, the amenities block is new but is showing damage, the showers are good but lack some ware to put your things, reasonably clean but can be better, disable access is poor, but I was informed that the old amenities block is going to be converted for disable use. The site is quiet and peaceful; the sunsets are something to be seen.
The pub as a friendly welcome and helpful staff, but I would not say that the food was good but average, the local beer is not to the standards that I would expect.
The location of the camp-site is good being next to the river and the chine ferry; it is worth the fare just to go across on it. The walk to the village along the river is very easy going and full of wildlife; also the pub in the village serves a good pint.
There is a fishing lake next to the camp-site, not being a fisherman this did not interest me.

We camped here for 4 nights at the end of May, it's a lovely site with a fantastic new shower block and a lovely pub attached.
On arrival, your name and designated pitch are written on a blackboard at the entrance to the site. If you have a non EHU camping pitch then you are free to choose where you pitch on a large field.
The site has two amenity areas, the large new shower block, which is fantastic, if a little short of hooks on the backs of doors, and the older block which houses toilets, the washing up area and a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Reedham Ferry itself is a little remote, but the village shop deliver to the site daily and if you miss this, it is only a 20 minute walk. We visited Great Yarmouth and Norwich while staying here as well as hiring a day boat from Wroxham, all are easily drivable from the site.
The only potential downside to the site was its exposure (only in the non EHU field). The weather was not particularly windy while we were there, but what wind there was was magnified by the openness of the field. I certainly wouldn't relish the thought of staying there if high winds were forecast.
I would definitely recommend this site and we will be going back, if only so my little son can ride the ferry again (it's right outside the site, and if the kids stare longingly enough, the old boys who 'drive' it are always offering them free rides to the other side and back). That may sound like a small thing, but it's just another little touch that really made for a lovely 4 days.

What a lovely little site. Just returned from the May bank holiday weekend. If you want a peaceful relaxing holiday this is it. Nice open countryside with lots of space to walk the dog. The pub which is right next door did some excellent ales and the food was good too. They also have a new shower block which was kept clean and tidy all the time we were there. The station is about half a mile up the road and gets you to Norwich and Lowestoft. Would definitely return.

Decided at short notice to have couple of nights here after the Bank Holiday and couldn't have asked for better.
As you drive onto the campsite your name and pitch number is written up on a board. There is a map to help you find your pitch (not difficult as clearly marked and site relatively small) Pitches (we had EHU) are all of good size - plenty of room to fit our Kampa Pendine 8, car, trailer and cooking unit on. No one came and collected our pitch fee, so went into pub to pay at end of visit
The new toilet block has just opened - very smart -however it does have 3 steps to access it which may be difficult for some. In the new block the mixer taps are set on warm - I didn't enjoy cleaning my teeth in warm water! We tended to use the older block as it was nearer to our pitch. We found them clean with plenty of hot water, soap and hand dryer, but I would agree with others that they are dated.
The washing up area has 2 sinks, but only one has a draining board, the other you have to use the washing machine top. One daughter wouldn't stay and help due to the quantity of spiders lurking on the roof! There is also a tumble drier at £1 a go.
The best bit about this site is the location - next to the river with the chain ferry chugging to and fro, a pub on your doorstep and with a lovely walk along the river to Reedham with a further 2 pubs, cafe and post office/gift shop. Great to sit out at any of the pubs (yes we did visit all 3) and watch the boats and wildlife go by. Our 2 daughters (14 and 11) didn't miss a play area with so much going on. In fact they were the ones rushing to take photos of the glorious sunset across the fields.
We will definitely visit again

On arriving at the camp site there was no one to meet and greet us. We had to phone a number written on a information board. The person who answered just told us the number of our pitch and left us to find it. The site is quite small and the other campers were friendly and there was no loud noise at night.
The pub next to the site was excellent good beer, food and a friendly atmosphere. The first thought after looking at the menu was, this is expensive, but when you got your meal it was definitely value for money (would recommend the rack of ribs)although you must have a good appetite.
On to the toilets and shower block, they are small and basic and not very clean. There is a new shower block being build but was not in service when we were there, when it is completed then the site will be complete.
If you like walking the village of Reedham is about 20 minutes away and to get there you can walk down by the river. Ther is a couple of pubs and a little village shop there.
Overall it is a nice little site close to Norwich, great Yarmouth, lowestoft and cromer.
I would definitely consider this site again.

On arrival there was no one to greet us. There was a board that had our name on it alongside a pitch number. The pitch was easy to find and very large.
We had asked for an electric pitch but found that we were on a service pitch. No extra charge.
The public house, Ferry Inn, is very nice and busy on the two occasions we went there.
Thought the food prices were a tad expensive - Cromer Crab Salad £9. 95, however the plates were overflowing. So you pay for what you get.
The ferry next to the site cost £4 for a single crossing for car. This allows you to get to Lowestoft quicker as you don't have to go around the river.
The site itself is lovely. Plenty of space between the vans and tents. No noise at night.
There are no playgrounds for children. So unless you kids just want to run around or fish then don't bring them. The site is surrounded by water but drains well.
The shower block has seen better days, however is adequate. In the middle of the site there appears to be a new shower block being built but not yet open.
We walked along the river to Reedham village and went into the Lord Nelson. They do basic food - steak, fish, pasta. Hubbie had gammon £8. 50 and I had Plaice £8. 50. Pint of Fosters £3. 40.
There is a train station in Reedham that will take to Norwich or Yarmouth.

After receiving a telephone call Saturday morning from a site in Somerset cancelling our booking, the staff at Reedham were exceptional. The fitted us in at short notice and were friendly and welcoming.
The drive to Reedham Ferry (if using a SatNav) will take you down some very small lanes, but if you follow the road to Norwich and follow directions to Reedham the journey is smoother.
Unfortunately the weather was very wet, but this did not take from the peace and tranquillity of the site.
I agree that the shower/toilet block is old, but if you wish 5* then maybe you need a hotel and not a campsite. The showers are hot, powerful and free. For the majority of our stay there were approx 10 pitches taken, all very friendly, kept the areas clean, and did not disrespect the staff by leaving the toilets and showers dirty for others, and noise was non-existent.
Sadly on the last day the schools had broken up and the arrival of a large group increased the noise, left the showers and toilets in a mess, not observing the 5mph limit nor the road direction.
There have been comments concerning the lack of children play areas, but there are larger complexes that cater for these requirements, camping delivers for childless people too! Personally with the amount of water around, I am not sure I would take children here. There are dykes both sides of the camp, the river and a moat in the middle of the site.
The Ferry Inn serves fantastic food, really welcoming polite staff and is extremely reasonable, in the busy season book a table ahead as it can get busy. The nearest local shop is in Reedham about a ten minute drive, but was closed when we went, there is a Budgens about 20 mins away or Norwich/Great Yarmouth for a Supermarket.
On a nice evening sit on the terrace and watch the boats, Barn Owls, Marsh Harriers, Swallows and Herons, while enjoying a local bitter.
I would definitely return to this site, but not in school holidays.

The site is situated on the banks of the river and easily accessed from the A47 at the Acle junction and follow the signs to Reedham Ferry. The approach roads are narrow in places, but acceptable for a touring unit.
Facilities at the site are decent, the pitches are large and relatively flat with EHU or fully serviced. The toilet/showers are a let down and are in need of total modernisation, there is a new block being built on the site although we were told this has been under way for quite a long time.
There is no shop on the site and it is either a walk or drive into the villages or larger towns to purchase any required items. The pub sells excellent food at competitive prices with a range of cask ales and draught beers etc.
The site has no children's play area although there is one at the top of the village. Fishing is available on a well stocked lake, there are numerous walks around the area and the site is in easy reach of the major towns in the county.

Although the location and surrounding area are very pleasing we were very disappointed with the service on this site and especially toilet/shower facilities. Only two WCs and 2 shower stalls and these were filthy. The chrome wire soap holders were rusty, floor and wall tiles and surround engrained with dirt. My mother and I refused to use the showers and managed with the facilities in our caravan.
The food in the Ferry pub is overpriced and not great quality. There are better pubs in the village.
