We stayed at this site as a staging point for an onward trip to Stranraer. Whilst setting up we had a severe problem with the electrics on the van. The site owner, John I believe he was called, was superb, He came straight to our aid and without being asked got to the route of the problem.
The site is excellent. the showers and toilets were spotless and there are good facilities for food and shopping nearby. I cannot recommend this site enough. Well worth a visit.

Used Braids as a stop off point to the Highlands for its proximity to the motorway. Check in was swift and friendly. Top stuff! You need £5 deposit for a toilet key which you get back when you leave. The site is mixed static and tourers, the tourers being closer to the sites entrance. All pitches are on gravel and slightly sloping. There are 2 toilet blocks, both very clean and adequate. The shower costs 20p and you get about 7 minutes which for us was amble. Gretna village is just out the gate; here you will find shops, take always and many a florist! There are also several pubs and hotels serving food. A great site, I would definitely stop here again and highly recommend.

We found this to be an excellent site, lovely and clean, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Local sunday market was within walking distance, Gretna Outlet Village also not far away. Dumfries town also well worth a visit, only a half hour car drive away. We would definitely visit again

I booked to go to Braids caravan park on the 12th of may for 2 nights stay, as I thought it would be a great place to use as a base to visit the area of Dumfries and Annan. I arrived early afternoon at Braids caravan park were I was impressed with the cleanliness of the site i.e toilets, and the general up keep of the site as I whole,. The only let down was the site is very stony and found it difficult trying to peg my tent up! After my struggle with the tent I went to freshen up, the showers are 20p the hot water lasted for about 5mins. There seemed to be plenty of electric hook ups available too.
I then went for a walk into Gretna to the local shops which was about 5mins walk away. There is a few small shops i.e spar, chip shop, bakers, cashpoint etc. There are a few nice places to eat and drink locally i.e Hunters lodge which the meals there were very nice and reasonably priced. Gretna gateway is near by for anyone wanting to go shopping! Definitely a women's haven for clothes shopping etc!
The following day I visited Dumfries which is a big town for shopping etc about 23miles from Gretna. I noticed a bus service running from Gretna to Carlise and Dumfries not sure how long they run but seemed to be at least every half hour or so. I also briefly visited Annan not much to do there just a small town about 8 miles from Gretna. The day of departing this site flew round quick! Just enough time to have a look at the local Sunday market which is about 1 mins walk from Braids. The market is held on Gretna f.c car park, not a lot of stalls but passed about half an hour.

We're new to caravanning, so just stayed overnight to try it all out! The site has 2 toilet blocks, very clean. Mind take your 20p's for the showers and hairdryers though as no-one mentioned it when we arrived - but I'd read it somewhere on a review! The site's a good size, was busy and everyone we spoke to seemed to have used it regularly, which was a good sign too.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way to the highlands, nice staff, clean showers and loos. The play equipment has been pulled down as they are building new homes on that part of the site,so there is nothing for kids to do. Apart from this it is a nice site and we would stop there again.

August 2005 This is a small site, there were a handfull of visitors on the site when we were there, mostly campers. There is no dog walking facilty on or near the site which I found odd seing as they don't mind pets on the site. It was well kept and clean though and we would go back to the site if we visited the area again. It is only a short drive to the visitor attractions at Gretna Green.

September 2004 Easy to find site, within 5-10 mins drive of Gretna's attractions, including large Designer Outlet village. Incredibly helpful chap on reception and decent flat pitches (we were only tent so had tons of room). Good shower and toilet block.
Make sure you visit Hadrian's Wall and nearby Roman forts/museums.

August 2004 Great site just five minutes walk from the heart of Gretna. Very friendly staff, very clean toilets and good facilities. Staff are on site till 11pm for late arrivals. A two minute walk tales you to the football car park where there is a market on every Sunday, 52 weeks of the year. The site also gives out discount vouchers for the Gables hotel next door to be taken off your meal if you visit. A site we will be visiting again.

February 2004 This site is situated in Gretna and it is only a very short walk into the town centre. The site has new owners since April 2003 and is undergoing some renovation to the toilet/shower block for campers which will improve the facilities.
The site has a mix of static caravans, super pitches, and a camping area. There is also a field that is used for rallies. A very pleasant site that only has a slight slope to some pitches.
Security is provided by a barrier system that can only be operated by a swipe card.
Toilets and showers were very clean and the owners ensure they are cleaned on a daily basis.
The site has a discount agreement with the hotel restaurant next door for meals etc.
We had a very nice week and would certainly go again
