Just had another very pleasant week at this site and as usual staff very friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem for them.
Location in Gretna good for Carlisle / north lakes etc.
Facilities are really good. We have toilets and showers(20p)for approx 10mns always plenty hot water they are kept spotless.
Recommend to anyone. We have been here many times and will continue to do so as we both really like the this site, also lots of improvements happening in the future.
Security is good as it is covered by cctv and entry/exit is by barrier

We stayed at this site as a stopover on route to Blackpool. This was ideal as it is only two hours from home which is great for after school on a Friday. It is two minutes off the M74.
The wardens were very nice and friendly and we were shown to our pitch. The site is on a slope but the allocated pitch has level standings to put the caravan wheels on.
The toilet block was immaculately clean and I don't mind paying 20p for a shower when the site is only £15. 50 a night for three of us.
There are a few too many signs and rules for my liking and I would not stay for more than a couple of nights. There is also no playpark for children.
The outlet village is only a ten minute walk and the wardens were not fussy about being off the pitch by a certain time in low season. The exit is quite tight for bigger outfits so be careful.
We will use this site again as a stopover.

We were greeted very warmly and were given a map of the local area. The lady on reception pointed out all the places of interest, including shops, pubs, Gretna Green.
Previous reviews of toilet/shower facilitieswere not too good so we used the one in our caravan. I can't comment on the toilet/showers as I didn't go into them.
The site itself is lovely and in a great position. It is a 10 minute walk to Gretna Outlet shops and 15 minute walk to Gretna Green
There is a nice hotel next door. The beer was expensive but the food good and reasonable price.
There is another pub around 5 minutes further down the road. Phone, TV and internet reception was good.
A great little site.

An excellent well maintained site with quality facilities.
We stayed there one night on our return from Scotlands Highlands & were greeted by the owners in a friendly professional manner.
All types of shops nearby c/w petrol & the necessary 'fish & chips' within almost walking distance.
The tired site has small roads interconnecting the small pitches which are hard standing but not too level.
Wash ups good with some cover, toilet & showers of a high standard well maintained.
Would return again when in the area.

Nice peaceful site. Site staff very friendly. only drawbacks were that the toilet block near to where we were parked were cleaned early in a morning, which was when you wanted to use them and they seemed to be no set times.
Electric only ten amps so it was trial and error with what you were using in case you tripped the electrics out, which we did and was told that they only would reset it three times.
Local shops and pubs nearby. Worth a visit.
Caverlock castle worth a visit. Car boot sale nearby.
Visted the Gables pub for a meal although the lasagne was a bit dried up but my husbands and friends enjoyed their meals.

We stopped on this site 5 years ago, it is still owned/run by the same people. It is a very clean and quite site, well kept and very tidy. They give vouchers out now for local eating and drinking establishments, we received 2 on arrival 1 for the Solway Arms and 1 for the pub just out side the entrance to the site. We did not use the 1 for the pub it was just for bar meals. We did use the 1 for the Solway Arms the food there is excellent. We also had a drink (or 3) in Gretna football and Athletic Club just over the road and to your right. The drinks are cheap and the regulars friendly. Will definitely stay on this site again when in the area.

We stayed for one night in mid July. The site was easy to find and is in a good position for caravanners coming from N. Ireland and heading into England as it is an easy distance from the ferry port in Stranraer.
We were rather disappointed by the site as it gives off a very down in the dumps atmosphere. It looks like it would have been very nice a few years ago, but has been let go. In large part this is because they seem to offer permanent pitches for people who have stopped towing but want to continue using their caravan.
These vans have all sorts of junk, plants etc around them which makes the place scruffy. They also either store or deal in old caravans as there is a fenced off area that looks like a tourers grave yard. The main problem is that the showers are old and have to be paid for. Fine for what we used it for, but I would not want to stay for longer than one night.

We used this site as 3 night stopover on our way to Oban, which gave us time to explore the area. In hindsight, should only have had 1-2 nights maximum - although it did give us a day in Carlisle and another one for visiting the Dumfries area.
The site itself is fine, very convenient with eating and drinking places in walking distance.
The pitches are slightly sloping, but nothing too drastic.
Highlight of the area is definitely Caerlaverock Castle, well worth the visit.

I have stayed at this site on many occasions, and everything is as good as last time I reviewed it. I stayed for 2 nights on my way to the Ayr Country Show. I stayed again for 1 night on my return journey on my way to Uttoxeter Races.
It's very convenient as it is not to far to the motorway and saves on journey times. The pubs and eating places were still excellent and the site staff very helpful. You can get a voucher to get something off your meal just down the road. Just ask at reception.

A group of us (all couples- not families)stayed here for 5 days over New Year. Staff were very pleasant and polite at all times, the Owners John & Isobel were most helpful in advising us of places to eat and visit during our stay. The Park was well kept, tidy and a very peaceful place to stay. Toilets and showers were clean and warm. We used the Rally Hut for a get together on Newyears day - great place for a group to be without disturbing anyone else with noise from awnings.
Would highly recommend this Park to anyone wanting to stay near Gretna although I would stress that even though the Park was busy it was still quiet and there was no disturbing noise at any time. Lovely after busy days out to have peaceful evenings and mornings.
