Ideal site for visiting Bath. On our arrival on a Friday of the May Day weekend, there was no one to greet us despite arriving before 5pm. There were no envelopes left for us or our friends. We could not make contact with anyone so we just found 2 adjoining pitches and set up.
The gentleman apologised the next morning and did offer a small discount for our inconvenience.
Facilities are tired and for our weekend one toilet block was out of action as there was no hot water.
Great for walking or cycling into Bath or for accessing the Bath to Bristol old railway line which is a fabulous cycle way. The pub nearest the site is excellent and the food was of a good standard.
Would definitely stay here again when we want to visit BAth but would love the toilet/shower blocks to be updated.

We were greeted by a very friendly and informative man on reception, who advised us on all the local info and were made to feel most welcome.
When booking, you have the choice of a small or large pitch, I booked a small pitch which was neat and tidy. I found the pitches a little too close together, my Husband found this a plus and that it created a friendly atmosphere, I like a bit more of a gap but it wasn't a major issue & not intrusive at all.
The toilet blocks and washing up areas are old, but do the job and are are always clean. In fact, the actual showers are new, warm and powerful.
The site is ideally situated for Bath city centre. It's a 40 minute walk via the tow path or the Park and Ride stops just outside & runs every 15 minutes (£2. 50 return ticket). There's also a nice pub a 2 minute walk away which serves food. Just up the road there is a tesco express.
Overall a very nice site, with easy access into Bath. We'd stay again.

We booked an economy campervan pitch - perfect, just a bit away from the main pitches and overlooking the river.
When we arrived receptionist was really friendly and welcoming. Checked us in quickly and efficiently, a great welcome is the first impression of a site and Bath Marina have a great first impression with this lady.
When we arrived we popped out for a walk and very pleasantly surprised when we got back 15 minutes later to find someone had been round swept the twigs and leaves from our pitch.
Yes agree with previous reviews that facilities blocks are old and need updating. Having said that they were clean all weekend despite site being full.
From the site its a 20 minute walk into Bath along either the river path or the cycle path. Alternatively the P&R runs from a few hundred yards outside the site. The Bath - Bristol cycle path (Cycle 4) starts just outside the site. Its 13 miles of tarmac cycle path on an old railway line, traffic free and well worth a cycle or a walk. Just over 5 miles up is the Avon Steam railway and the station at Bitton has a great cafe serving meals and drinks.
We loved this site and if they do invest in the facilities block it will be hard to beat.

We love visiting Bath and the Bath Marina Campsite is very convenient for walking into the city or using the Park and Ride bus, a short walk across the road. It's easy to access site and is well laid out just next to the canal. The downside is that the facilities are really starting to look tired now. The buildings are in need of refurbishment and hot water was intermittent at one of the blocks (again!) this is a real shame, the staff are very helpful and friendly, it's very well located, but it's now falling well behind the quality of other sites - especially the Caravan Club. Bath Marina - we love your site but it really needs some money spent on it now!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Firstly, the site is clean, very well maintained with hardstanding spacious pitches that make camping very easy, even in the winter! Good showers, laundry and wash up facilities, a well stocked shop, a great area to walk dogs and a fantastic local pub 'The Boathouse'.
However, what makes it extra special is the customer service. After staying there for one night and then traveling to another site which was pretty low in standards we decided to come back to Bath Marina and Caravan Park. The owner went out of his way to accommodate us and really looked after us without being over bearing. He was professional and attentive and impressed us so much we had to part with a very nice bottle of wine to thank him! Thank you for saving our holiday! :)

Just spent 4 nights there.
The site was very busy as the Christmas markets were on in the town centre and after some initial confusion over pitch allocation, all was fine.
The staff are probably the friendliest we've ever met on any site; most obliging and helpful - especially when one of the shower blocks ran out of hot water!
As mentioned elsewhere, the site is well-located, close to the Park and Ride, which we found expensive at £3. 20 each (whether single trip or return!).
As an example, Shrewsbury is £2. 40 return for up to 5 people!
The location is also great for cycling. We did the Bath to Bristol Railway Path @ 30 miles return, but even better was the recently opened Two Tunnels Route. Access is easy from the towpath, through the 2 tunnels, turn back on Colliers Way to the Dundas Aqueduct and return along the towpath of the Kennet & Avon canal.
Only 15 miles round trip and the scenery is superb.
Must mention we had a great meal in the Dolphin pub, just down the road (or towpath) and following a visit to the Theatre Royal in town, we had a fantastic meal in 'Market', an Italian- themed pub just opposite the theatre.
Really enjoyed our time there and would certainly return.

I've stayed here on several occasions and never fail to leave impressed.
Access is very good, staff very helpful, pitches a good size, site always clean and tidy. The facilities are excellent and always clean and warm, essential for winter visits.
TV reception good, and water dumping and fill very convenient. Good shop, and free newspaper very interesting. Nearby is canal for a 'long' walk into lovely Bath, and 2 good pubs within easy walking distance.

Pros:
Good location for travel into Bath - short walk along river to Park 'n ride. (also to Boatyard pub - good food but not cheap. Dog friendly tho' !) Buses every 15 mins and free with bus pass!
Good dog exercise field (off-lead) adjacent to site.
Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Cons:
Very expensive - almost twice what we had paid the night before on a C&C club site.
Facilities a bit dated - and disabled very poor especially bearing in mind the high price.
No motorhome waste water emptying point!

We were greeted by a very helpful guy on reception and found a very nice site with good prices £16.80 a night as we don't use electric. Park and ride very handy a short walk away good value at £3. 20 return and they run till around 8pm. Its very organised which doesn't always suit us and yes some of the pitches are like being in a car park and are not very private but for a city break of one or two nights you cant go wrong really.

Both of our boys went to university in Bath and have now settled there so we have used the sites nearby for years.
Bath Marina is open all year and somehow the staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Some reviews are less than complimentary about the hard standings, but in midwinter after days of rain, they are great as you do not tread mud everywhere. We have always said how it reminds us of so many French sites with the tree cover etc.
So convenient for Bath and the surroundings. Leave the car, camper on site and walk in or take the bus. Best of all use the bike and make use os some of the bike friendliest towns in Britain.
Bath now has a plethora of good food places, but just down the road The Crown Inn never disappoints.
There is a park with kids playground adjacent, and the site is very safe as all the pitches are off to the sides of the only route through the site.
As some have mentioned the facilities are rather dated and British Waterways Marinas Limited really ought to invest in updating these considering the prices they now charge and the standards their competition are beginning to offer.
