I booked for a hard standing pitch for an under 7. 5 meters motorhome. What I got was a 6 meter, if that, hardstanding parking place. Most of the pitches are very tiny and are really not much bigger than a parking bay at the Tesco superstore. I saw a lot of vans were covering the entire gravel area as well as a substantial amount of grass. I imagine they were as upset as me but not a opinionated and I am at a loss as to why they havent spoken up here. Probably because they made the same vow I did and that is to never return. I complained and was made to feel I was something that crept up out of the ground before finally they understood I was standing my ground until I actually got what I paid for. I was then allocated another hardstanding with a bit of room. However they made sure I got my 'just desserts' as the one I was parked in had the most awful smell of strong animal manure, or at least I hope it was animal. Being fully booked is no excuse and yet the reception lady tried to blame the internet booking system which is the same as saying they really don't care. This together with the overall dilapidated and unmaintained areas who that they get their business because they have one of the best locations in Bath.

Great location, easy walk along river or bus ride into Bath. Rental bikes available which is a great idea.
Lovely clean hot showers & loos.
Site a bit tatty in places, more gardening & tidying required.
Friendly & helpful staff.

Have stayed here 3 times before as it has good facilities, good value and very convenient for Bath.
Just one complaint this time. We were there for the Bath 1/2 marathon and the site was full. Unfortunately only one ladies shower room was available leaving only 2 showers for around 80 pitches. Also the time given on the push button showers was ridiculously short - about 2 seconds absolute max. To wash your back by the time you turned around it was stopped!
Otherwise another great stay

Oh dear what a disappointment in terms of facilities this site is! Beautiful location and brilliant for getting into Bath but very non committal at book in. One toilet block had just been demolished and only Portakabin type are going to replace it. One working shower for each sex in the other block and one washing up sink only for 80 pitches! Grass v long and general air of neglect. Perhaps they don't care as most people only visit once.

Stayed here for the Bath Christmas Market. Very nice site, staff were excellent and very helpful. This site was busy because of the market but the facilities were always clean and plenty of hot water. There is a short walk from the reception along the river and under the A4 road bridge to Newbridge park & ride. No need to cross the busy A4. Very good bus service from here to the city centre. Will definitely go back next year in spring or summer as a great base for exploring the area.

Stayed here for 3 nights to visit Bath and the Bath Christmas Market. Yes the toilets blocks are a bit dated but they are warm and clean and I agree with the reviewer below it does look a bit like a French Camping Aire but with more facilities. Personally I think it is more akin to a French Camping Municipal Campsite. As motorhome owners visiting in winter this site is great with proper hard standing, 16 amp electricity and easy access and a park & ride less than 10 mins walk away! What more would we want? If you enter the site via the A36 through Bath allow a bit of extra time as it gets busy and follow the site instructions not your satnav.
We didn’t try any of the pubs previously mentioned but we did eat at the Handmade Burger Restaurant in Bath and we would recommend it, friendly staff and good food.
We will definitely visit again hopefully in warmer weather when we can use our bikes and do some walking.
I agree why are there not more sites like this in the cities and towns in our country? Both the site, local businesses and Bath itself were benefiting greatly from a financial viewpoint. …Ah yes but of course local council’s don’t want these horrible motorhomes and caravans cluttering up the place do they! Their loss I think.

Why aren't there more sites like this? It's essentially an aire with facilities, on the outskirts of Bath. And such good value - we stayed there in summer 2016 also, when we'd just finished staying in the New Forest where we paid £35 a night for a patch of field and everything was an extra at added cost. Here, you are not charged for dogs, awnings or TV hook up. They even lend you a TV connection cable for goodness sake! For not much over £20 a night, that is excellent value. Add to that its location, just a mile or so from Bath centre, accessed either by towpath or park and ride from just next the site, and it's a no-brainer. Go visit!

Having read all the previous reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but we wanted to visit Bath and this seemed the best option. Upon arrival, very friendly reception received with all the information that you would require. Pitch was more than adequate for our folding camper - as for the toilets and showers - don't fear they were fine! Warm, clean with plenty of hot water, if a bit dated. After the discovery of the bus we didn't use our car again but the bus, into and from Bath on many excursions.
In all, a great stay and when we consider attending Bath rugby we may well use this as our base.

First impression wasn't great, looked a bit like a car park. Friendly welcome and given a map to our pitch in the woodland circus area. Small pitch but fine, free wifi is a bonus on the pitches. The toilets and showers are old but clean. Leave the site through a gate and your on the river footpath, turn left and 2 miles later your in Bath city centre turn right and your out in the beautiful countryside. Bus stops at site entrance to Bath or Bristol. 2 nice pubs within a short stroll both of which are dog friendly. Staff on site were really friendly and went above and beyond when we needed them.
Despite first impressions we are already talking about going back!

Last minute booking to break the journey from Devon. Phoned up and was booked in swiftly, Good location as said before, As we were only staying overnight, we didn't get to the pub or a walk down the river. Was quite expensive for what it was but seems popular with German motorhomes.
