Perfect site for visiting Bath. The welcome was very pleasant and helpful. The pitches were concrete with electric hook-up. The toilet facilities were a good standard and heated. We only stayed one night but as far as I could see it looked to have most camper facilities. The Park & Ride is opposite the site, it doesn't run on Sunday. You could also walk the canal tow path, which isn't the most picturesque walk. Definitely would stay here again when visiting Bath.

This was our second weekend visit to this site which is easily accessible for site-seeing in Bath. The site is quite large and all of the pitches are tarmac. There are lots of trees and on some pitches erecting an awning would be a bit of a challenge.
Location is great. Directly opposite is a park and ride service into Bath. Alternatively, if you have a bit more energy, you can access the canal tow path directly from the site and walk all the way along the canal into the city centre.
A couple of pubs are within walking distance. It has to be said, they are not the greatest. Also very easily accessible is the Bristol to Bath cycle path from which the Bird in Hand and Jolly Sailor pubs (Saltford) are well worth a visit.
Good site, facilities OK to good, location fantastic.

Good site, friendly welcome, spacious pitches clean and acceptable toilet facilities. Handy location for Park and Ride into Bath City Centre or alternatively pleasant walk along river that takes about 45 mins, although walking back in snow was different if a little cold as don't expect to catch a taxi in Bath at closing time on a Saturday night. Would definitely recommend this as a good stopover site for one or two nights to see Bath, however, slightly lacks character to sustain a weeks holiday.

Direction to the site was so easy and the entrance impressive and on entering the site we found it reflected the whole site. Reception was helpful, level hardstanding site, easy hock-up and a heated shower block clean and tidy.
We took the walk into Bath along the canal path and it took exactly the time stated. The weather was so good to us which makes all the difference, and, although I tried to prevent it, the wife managed to spend a few bob around the shops. I forgot Bath Rugby was playing home so missed that, I was thinking what I could eat at the pub later on that night.
The Dolphin had an excellent menu and business was brisk, so, as we were rather famished after all the walking, we decided to eat early. Good job, for as we left, nearly every table had gone.
As this site is open all year round this will be ideal for making note for future returns.

We had visited this site previously when arriving in Bath after 5pm and the instructions were to chose a pitch and see reception in the morning.
We enjoyed this site and its location being so close to bath. There is a co-op not too far away and all amenities were quite standard. Therefore on our next visit to Bath we decided to stay here again, however the trip was not planned in advance but we thought as last year we could pitch and araange things in the morning there were no instructions to advise us otherwise as we checked at reception.
However when we had pitched the tent and just happened to walk past reception much later about 9pm we noticed someone had placed a message on the whiteboard in the window which was not there earlier. It read 'No Tents'.
Maybe the kindest explanation is that they didn't realise we were there and were late putting the sign out. But somehow I don't believe this to be the case.
Because there was no-one to speak to (the mystery sign placer had vanished)we had to make a descision we did not want to stay where no tents but were quite annoyed that no-one stopped us even though we were obviously seen, so we stayed and went to pay in the morning. We apologised and explained our situation but who we spoke to was very aggressive and unwilling to listen that there was no sign originally.
I know we were at fault and it made two young inexperienced campers a bit more aware of not arriving too late at a camp site or book in advance. But the site suddenly became very unappealing due to their attitude.

Update on my 2003 report - still a recommended site, but although some improvements have taken place in the toilet blocks (showers and washbasins upgraded), the low level of day-to-day routine maintenance is disappointing.
As may be expected from a city site, there is always background noise - planes flying into Bristol airport, main roads 100 yds away to the north and the south of the site, and the mainline train line to Bristol the other side of the river. Nothing untoward - just don't expect complete peace and quiet.

Visited in April, not a bad site as mentioned before. Toilets/showers a little old but adequate. Caught park and ride into Bath but it doesn't run on Sundays so you have to walk into town along the river.
The trip up the river is nice - kids enjoyed it. Also the baths were a brilliant place to visit and both kids aged 8 and 12 loved it. Followed by posh tea and scones in the tea rooms.

This is generally a very attractive site, now used by many continental visitors. The main tourer area is not too regimented and with plenty of trees. Emplacements within the grass are 6 metre square concrete areas, which can make the erection of a traditional awning a challenge. Although licensed for 88 caravans and motor homes, don’t be surprised to find tents being slotted onto any spare patch of grass.
The facilities are adequate, albeit tired; there are no specific facilities for the watering and disposal of waste from motor homes, and the road can get blocked whilst they are using the normal water/waste points.
The shop is very limited (no food), and there is little elsewhere locally. Sainsbury’s is the nearest supermarket, but is difficult to find – a clue is that although it is on the north side of the river, access is via its own bridge from the south side (A36).
The riverside `Boat House’ pub 200 metres away along the river path looks quite good and would suit most people and families – leave your dog behind, though, and non-meat eaters should not expect to get too excited by the menu. About half a mile in the opposite direction down the river path `The Dolphin’ is a bit more relaxed – dogs OK, plus children’s play area.
The riverside path provides a good 45 minute walk into Bath (beware cyclists who share the path), or the adjacent park-and-ride (buses every 15 minutes) is useful for the less energetic.
The site is ideal for cyclists, with the National Cycle Route passing alongside (to Bath and beyond in one direction, and Bristol and many other places in the other).
To sum up – a recommended site that will benefit from some upgrading of facilities and better routine maintenance.

This site has a pub easily within 50 yards and there is access from the site to the pub under the main road. The pub is on the river bank great in the summer watching the boats go past) it used to be called 'The Boathouse' but has just changed names. The food always looked good but we haven't sampled any at this one.
Bath Park & Ride is next to the pub car park, for easy access to the city centre. Don't even think about taking your car into the centre as it's now a vehicle free centre.
