Lovely site with lots for children to do, toilets and showers were immaculate.
Check-in was a nightmare, we travelled during the night, arrived at 6am and were directed to a field full of other new arrivals. We were allowed to check in at 9 BUT. We were all locked in until 12! We were told the wrong pitch number then when we found right one it was small and under trees. Reception were very unhelpful, said had no others and the sun moved round, it never did, we had no sun all day! Pitches were tight and some definitely bigger than others. Lots of points for rubbish and bottles but not emptied daily and overflowing.
Both indoor and outdoor pools very good, outdoor pool does water walking each day at 6pm (giant inflatable ball on water) for only £2, children loved it but beware, book on the day from 9am and few slots.
Entertainment ok and bingo every night but very difficult to get a seat after 7.30pm.
Food in the bar expensive and no scrumpy on draft .Morrisons supermarket just across the road and Mcdonalds.

Wow what a site. Excellent value for money, it has everything you could want. Pool is brill, toilets clean, shop has a good range, bars and entertainment excellent although the beer wasn't what you'd expect for £3 a pint.
The stuff for kids to do is second to none.
Only down point was that I had mentioned to them prior to travelling that we had a Vango 600 and 2 cars and was told that they had the perfect pitch for us but when we pitched the tent the cars overhung the pitch by a good 3 foot.
We would definitely return but before I pitched the tent I would make sure I was on one of the larger pitches available as these were much bigger.

Not the best place we have been to but the entertainment was brill so my 5yr old say's we go to newquay often as we have family there who own their own b&b but were busy at the time if year we went .
Allways great day's out in cornwal
Dairy land, paradise park where you can feed parakeets with nectar, newquay zoo not the best but not far to go if you don't want to drive far, the beaches are amazing fistral beach is the place if you want to surf or watch surfing. Lot's of places to dine out if you don't want to eat on site [fort inn highly recomended].
And on rainy days don't miss out on blue aquarium, seal sactuary in Gweek is also highly recomended

What can I say about Hendra. LARGE! It's the biggest camp site Ive been on. The biggest problem with an all singing all dancing site like this is that it all becomes a bit impersonal. Lets start with the positives. Entertainment is secound to none, the pool is superb, there is plenty to do and eat all day. If you have small kids you cant go wrong (we dont)
The big negative for me however was the amount of tents they try to shove on each field. It looked like Glastonbury, and not in a good way.I have been to the site in a static and loved it, but for camping its a definate no no .
At my age I need space and quiet, two things you wont get at Hendra.

Lovely site, toilets clean, site well kept and looked after. Only gripe was the check in was a little long winded took over an hour to check in, which is a little annoying when you can see you have pre-paid for a particular pitch and can see that it is empty, they just need to staff it adequately for the Saturday 12 noon arrival time (I have queried this with Hendra and they have agreed to look into this for next year).
The dog walk was quite small and badly sign posted again something that Hendra are looking to improve.
I agree with the others the traffic noise is constant over the day but it was fairly quiet at night, but there are plenty of pitches away from the main road to choose from.

Hi readers, I am a 13 yr old girl and I have been going Hendra since I was 1!. I think it is fantastic. Lets start off with the pitches. They are all great in their own way but my dad books the top one with no dogs allowed on there. Next lets go to the toilet's - they are nice and they are kept clean.Y ou have a wide range of showers and toilets and for the babys they have a babys bath which I think is very good. They also have loads of mirrors which is good especially for them girls & boys that like to make sure they are looking glamourous ( I'm one of them girls). Then lets move on to the arcades and the shops. The arcades are good but don't waste all your money in there because you might need it for better things as I have experienced that before. Then the shop, the shop is big inside and you have a wide range of things you can buy from there at normal prices. Then there is the trampoline thing out side the arcades. That is ok if you don't mind your kids going on there I think its about £1 or £2 I am not really sure. Then there is the pub outside the oasis swimming pool. That is also good if your kids want to go in the swimming pool and you want to sit down and have a few pints or something to eat. Then there is the oasis swimming pool itself. There is an outdoor one and an indoor one, the outdoor one is good if you don't want to get in the pool with your kids you can just relax all the time but I like the indoor one the best because it has 3 flumes. 1st is the green one which is relaxing and the 2nd one is the blue flume which is a funny one and then there is the red one. The first time I went on the red flume it seemed like it was never going to end and it said lay down but I sat up n I hit my head but I was funny so the red one is the dare devil one. The changing rooms are good and they have a little bit in there where you can have a quick shower with your bikini on. And they do have hair driers there but the last time I went I think they were out of order but that isn't a major problem. They have a play area there and that is big and fun to go in with your friends. And they have a nice club there if you and your friends want to have a good night up on the stage and having a good holiday there. There are so many places to go around Cornwall like Meveragissey and Lands End and bed roof and steps Cornwall's view is just spectacular I adore Cornwall, I always go with my mum and dad and bro but I'm taking my friend this year which is going to be so good. keep it up Hendra. Thank you mum&dad for taking me there! xox Kira xoxo

Loved the campsite near the toilet blocks and near the amenities but we were put on the overflow field which had portaloos and just one flush toilet. My daughter and I used to have to take the car up to the main shower block which I must say are the best I have ever been in. The only downside is the young girls using the hair drying plugs to charge their mobile phones. Maybe I will use the site again but only if I was closer to the amenities. We also had rain and the field we were in was like a mud bath, not very good when you have got young children.

What a fantastic site. We went with 2 children in our caravan. We were in a group of 5 families. The toilets were second to none, every time you go for a shower the cleaner would be in there after you, radio playing, electric sockets for hairdryers etc. Entertainment OK, we saw BSRK, great group. Cinema for kids at 9pm every night, £2 each. This meant we could have a relax in the bar until 10.30pm. Pool great, just a bit expensive, could do with it being cheaper. Go at 9am as it is open to residents for the first hour of the day, this is worth noting. Pitch was very big, stay away from the pitches near the road, pay the extra £10.00 to go inland, the traffic is constant, especially at 7.30am! There is a bus at the main reception to Newquay £3.40 return for 2 adults and 3 kids - cheap. We have booked to go again next year.

Very good again everything that a family needs, in & out door pool good, worth the extra £2.50 each, good bars. Only moan as such is the road needs tarmacking as the white dust goes all over the place, did not book and ended up in the boot sale field which was better than the main site, loved it be back soon.

Hi we stayed in a static on this site just to be close to family who don't have their own tourer. Needn't have done this touring pitches right next to our static anyway. It was a lovely site, one I would recommend. We have a lovely meal in the bar and with a pizza bar, burger van and chippy van there were other cheaper options for food too. Outdoor pool are spotless and ideal for kids as there was lots of shallow play area's. Indoor pool was great it was £2.50 per person to go in there which is as bit much. It has different water slides and river rapids and is open to the public. We visited at night rather than in the day as it was almost empty then. Open til 8pm. There is a little train that takes you on a journey all around the site at 10am every morning this is free and nice for the kids. Amusements, play areas and trampolines are added bonuses and night when you've had enough of the entertainment indoors. All in all a great holiday and site and one we will go back too.
