We went on Whitsun bank holiday. Had an excellent time, but found the prices of drinks at the entertainment club overpriced. The toilets and showers were clean and never had to wait for the toilets only to wash my hands after using the loo when you go peak time. The pitch was fine for us, we were close to the loo's. We arrived early maybe this is why we had a great pitch. The first night was rather noisy. People behind us who were singing and playing their guitar until 11:30pm it didn't really bother us. The shop didn't open until 7:30-8:00am.
Other than that had a great time and we will definitely be back.

Site was very clean and the showers deserved their 5 star, they were very clean and warm and had the radio on all the time. Entertainment was very good good for the children till 9pm, we didn't stay for the later entertainment but looked promising. However we were not happy with quite a few things: 1:we had to pay £10 to be close to toilets (we have a small child) only to find we were the only ones in the oak field. 2:we were on a slope when we went to another site last year we were pre-warned on this. 3:the oak field was right next door to the swimming pool which was great till we went to bed and the pumps were going all night and drove us potty. 4:food was terrible and very expensive, very greasy and not much Choice, eat out or take the barbie.

Spent 3 nights at this site. For a typical family venue - this is one for you to consider. Plenty of amenities to occupy the kids. Overall feeling by both of our families was fine, will come again. Just a few mini gripes to report. Water taps do not state whether drinking or waste water. Took 3 days to find chemical toilet cleaning area, again not easy to locate as not on site leaflet. Takeaway Chippy shut at 8pm yes 8pm on a Friday evening. Guess someone keen to get out for the evening! Could have made a killing till 11pm nightly. Oh and many touring pitches were small. Thank God the site was not full, I was able to get a large enough one for my tt.

To be perfectly honest, it was our first long stay with a new trailer tent, so we were not sure what we were letting ourselves in for. We needn't have worried. The site was fantastic, even in the August bank holiday week. Yes it was full, with lots of kids, so if solitude is your thing, avoid. However, if you want a large mixed accomodation holiday venue, with great swimming, dining, entertainment, childrens areas that is certainly not overpriced, then try Hendra. Plus it is less than 3 miles from the centre of Newquay and all its beaches. We are already talking about next year !

Site great for the family and my 6 year old loved all the play areas. Only moans having to pay extra to get in 2 indoor pool, camp porta loos needed cleaning bit smell. Showers good. We ended up in the over flow fields loads of room for tent and camper van, Will go again soon, evenings get there extra early for seats.

Given a small pitch (despite booking early and stating the tent size), this was soon rectified with no fuss. Site on a gentle/not very gentle slope. Many places to eat (at a price), pizza bar with entertainment was enjoyable.
Shower blocks clean (there are three), some queueing necessary most times from 5 to 15 minutes, worse at weekends. Sufficient toilet facilities at all times.
Some noise in the evening, but we found that not too intrusive. We had 2 teenagers with us, they enjoyed the pool, it was never too full (although the weather was good) and there was entertainment for younger children.

Stayed here at the end of May for a week, but camped here several times in the past. The site is excellent for families with children, providing a free train ride around the site every morning, plus kids clubs and entertainment through the day. The shower block tends to get a bit busy at peak times, but we didn't have to wait too long for a shower. The site club lays on entertainment nightly, but charges outrageous prices for drinks, which increase in the peak weeks.
Having a small child can be a problem, due to the amount of noise at midnight when the drunken rabble are turfed out of the club. This noise continued from a couple of the static caravans until about 2:30am for the first two nights of our stay. Recommended, but take lots of beer money and some earplugs!

August 2004 Had a really good time even though we had to stay in an overflow field which got a bit muddy when the rain started!
The club was really good but very busy (we even won £180 on the bingo but had to share it with three other people) and the pool with slides was excellent.
My only real gripe is because the pool is open to non residents, you have to pay every time you want to use it..........other than that it gets a thumbs up from us

August 2003 Camping pitches were all on slopes - very difficult to make the trailer tent level. Shower block was kept fairly clean but not enough - 5 showers for half the site - had to queue most days for over an hour on occasions. Pools were clean and had plenty of lifeguards - but a little crowded at times. Evening entertainment was good but be there for opening or you wouldn't get a seat! Plenty to keep the kids occupied, friendly staff and clean and tidy site - food from the take away was very poor - overcooked, tiny portions and extremely overpriced (£3.49 for a cheeseburger!).
Overall a good holiday and would probably stay there again but would be careful to book a flat pitch!

June 2003 Brilliant site , well maintained loads to do for the kids.Hardstandings very good with own water and electric supplies , showerblocks cleaned everyday and are very well presented. On site pools indoor and outdoor with many lifeguards on hand if needed. This site is highly recommended better than any Haven or Butins Site i've stayed at.
