Arrived Friday afternoon and was shown to a large pitch on the lower field for our group of ten. Margaret (the owner) made sure we had plenty of room for our cars, tents and bikes. Toilets clean and quite adequate, site quiet after 11pm. Village consists of Spar and 2 pubs and site shop was stocked with all the essentials. I am returning this weekend with my motorhome and family. In all my 20+ years of camping have never felt more welcome A+++++++++

The site was too crowded, I really could not believe how many they managed to squeeze onto this field. The toilet block was clean but there was not enough to cater for so many people. The shower block was on another area altogether, and again, not enough to cater for everyone. I have been to several campsites but have never been to one where you are almost on top of one another. The owners just seem to keep cramming them on. There is a road that is less than 3 feet away from some tents, and a 60 mph traffic racing past at all hrs. The village of Dent is beautiful, its just a shame that they put so many people in such a small area. Several other people were unhappy about the over crowding too. The views could have been lovely, but all we saw was tents tents and more tents. I would not visit this site again

We were lucky in that the night we stayed was one of the warmest of the year with glorious days on both sides. It cost us £14.50 for the pair overnight. The site was not too overcrowded and had a friendly family atmosphere. As there were only a couple of showers after a walk from the bottom field, I find it pays to be up very early - i.e. 05:30hrs - no problem getting in at that time! Was surprised by the noise not from this campsite but from the nearby village. However, it is summer and England had just beaten Paraguay so it didn't bother me! Would definitely go again - the countryside and views in the glacially formed valley cannot be beaten. I would like to see some showers constructed on the bottom field though to make it a bit more comfortable.

Just returned from a very nice weekend on this camp site. The site was busy, but space was good, perhaps a little to many cars spoiling the wonderful views. Toilet block well used but clean etc. Shop has all the bits you need and staff friendly. Everyone seem to go to bed at 11pm so noise levels very good at night. Yes will go again

After reading the reviews here I was disappointed with this site. I felt that the toilets and showers were tired and in need of some TLC and there was not enough showers and toilets for the number of people on site over a busy Bank Holiday. There was only 4 showers for woman and so there was a constant queue for them. I actually don't mind paying 20p for a shower. The water temperature was good and you got long enough to wash your hair and shower. I would sooner pay for a shower that is constantly on than use the push button type, even if they are free. The biggest disappointment though was the way in which tents and caravans were crammed onto the site. We were shocked when we returned from a day out on the Saturday to find a row of tents in front of ours where there really wasn't the space for another row. This resulted in several cars being blocked in and one car and caravan unit was unable to leave the site on Monday morning until the tent in front had been packed up. The biggest attraction of this site though is its proximity to a lovely village with 2 pubs, 3 teashops and a Post Office /General Store. It was a pleasure to stroll 100 yards and enjoy a good meal and a drink without having to get in the car. I can highly recommend that you book a table at the Meadowside Cafe which opens on Saturday nights in the summer, reservation only. The food at the Sun Inn was also excellent but you need to get there handy if the weather is not so good and you need a table indoors. By 7pm it is packed and standing room only I would visit this site again but not over a Bank Holiday weekend when it is overcrowded and the facilities overstretched. The village and its facilities make it worth another visit.

We arrived for one night on a Saturday of a bank holiday weekend. We were in the bottom field and the site was absolutely packed, very little space between each tent. Having said that, we were grateful to be squeezed in on such a busy weekend but I wouldn't go again for bank holiday. The toilets were reasonably clean, considering the amount of people using them.
The views were fantastic and the pubs were close by which is always a big plus. Maybe with it being so busy we didn't see the best in the campsite.

Beautiful scenery dent is a lovely village not a lot too do there but some nice walks I wasnt too impressed with the site rather overpriced would be much better if they had a shower block on the lower field, we noticed another site further up in dent that was half the price wouldnt visit this site again unless I heard they had added more shower blocks to justify steep prices.

Good scenic location on well drained ground ..... and NO chance of bending any tent pegs here. Pitch sizes for larger tents are a bit tight e.g Outwell Montana 6 + Side Canopy + windbreak + car. The lower (larger) field has a toilet block with dish washing facilities in the ladies and gents (only one cubicle in the gents!). More toilets and showers (only 2/3 of each in the gents) in the higher field (showers were 20p for around 4/5 minutes). The hot water on the site seemed to be a bit hit and miss during our stay BUT it didn't spoil our stay too much.

A lovely site and despite previous comments we found Margaret lovely helpful and welcoming, the site is very good and well drained which was a bonus in the awful weather we had, the toilets were clean but wiffy from the sheer volume of use on the BH weekend. cant think of any negatives really and would go again anytime.

We found this site on the internet and I am glad we did. We camped in the bottom field by the gate in the right hand corner as you drive in the gate. The site is very clean and tidy and there is one toilet block but no showers which is bit of a pain. The lights in the walls around the site are a big help, when you need to go in the middle of the night and the sheep dogs are good entertainment when the farmer brings his sheep down to graze. There are some good walks in the area. Dent village is 5 mins walk away with a couple of decent pubs selling real ale. I thought the site was quite pricey £27 for two nights. Margeret the owner is very nice. Would I return ? Yes defininetly
