June 2004 We have had a really brilliant stay in Dent. The facilities are excellant, the owners very friendly and helpful and views gorgeous. The cafe next door - Meadowside a must. Best service ever had. We will be back.

April 2004 Advantages of this campsite are the beautiful views, great walking and the cafe next door (highly recommend it: delicious and filling food, friendly service and if you’ve got a dog, they treat it as another important customer)! More cafes, pubs and newsagents are within walking distance.
I have to agree that the hosting could do with warming-up. The lady who we paid was lovely, but we were later confronted by a different lady asking “Are you going to pay then or what?!”
The only unsatisfactory aspect was the showers, which cost 20p for a few minutes - one person put in 40p before it started. Most of the time was spent trying to get the temperature right as it only did boiling hot or freezing cold. If you need to wash, find an alternative.
We had a great weekend and I’d use Dent as a base to explore the dazzling Dales countryside again.

May & June 2002 I understand people have different expectations and needs from a campsite but I have to say I really enjoyed my stay here (both times). We had never been camping before and went in a group of 10 people, one month later 4 of us we went back again 'cos we had so much fun, both times our trip coincided with the Dent disco, the disco is worth a visit and the locals are very entertaining (it has to be seen to believed!).
Margaret is very helpful and not as some people have described, but it can get busy on a Bank Holiday, but what good campsite doesn't on a Bank Holiday?

9 August 2003 This was our first time camping and was a bit wary given the mixed reviews for the site. I must say that the camp site was excellent (however i have nothing to compare it to.) The owner and her staff were pleasant and friendly. The showers, toilets and water points were in working order and clean. It cost us £22 for two adults two nights to camp and in my opinion this is not expensive. I will return to High Laning and would recommend it to others, especially first timers.

Aug 2003 The site is expensive at £12 per night for a tent, car and 2 adults, however, the facilites are very good. There is a new shower block in the small field which was very clean and the showers red hot. I found the owner, Margaret, to be firm, but very helpful. I've been camping in Dent for over 20 years on a basic farm site, and this was a definite improvement. Dent is a lovely quiet little village, and the accounts of discos etc. are alien to me.
There are 3 washing-up sinks, washing machines, dryers, vending machines, drying rack etc. etc. There is a washing-up sink in the ladies loo, but this is in the old block.
The large field has the better views, but yes, on a bank holiday weekend, you can't move an inch. The showers are also in the small field, along with the farm shop which sells the usual stuff.
I would recommend Dent and this site to anyone, but not if you are looking for a cheap weekend, and definitely not on a bank holiday!
