Arrived during heavy rain, but the site owner guided us to a reasonable dry pitch. The site was packed, and the units are sited close together, but during the week there is plenty of room.
In the village we tried both the pubs for food, but would recommend the Sun Inn for better meals. The roads into Dent are very narrow, especially approaching from Ribblehead. The best route for large motorhomes and caravans is from Sedbergh.
Great place for walking and a visit to the Small museum at the site gate is a must.

A good site right in the middle of Dent. We visited the George & Dragon and the Sun Inn, both excellent pubs with friendly locals. Had a lovely walk by the river and around the valley.
The showers and toilets are fine. The main block was across the road but there were toilets and one shower in the smaller block on the tent field.
There were a few groups on the site - everything quietened down by 11.30pm, in compliance with the site rules.
We would go back to this site

I stayed in a small tent, arriving by bicycle.
Plenty of available space. Easy to pitch tent.
Shop well stocked, but there is a good general store in Dent village too. Attached to a working farm, so expect the full rural sound to permeate the air!
I found the staff helpful and courteous, and the owner went out of his way to assist when my gas cooker ran out of fuel. The shower was ok I suppose, but can be annoying if you can't find your 20p piece as happened to me. There is a drinks machine in the laundry room.
£8.50 a night seemed fair. No pressure was put on me to leave before a certain time. Overall, I would recommend this camp site!
Dent is a delightful village; I preferred George and Dragon to Sun Inn - better range of beer (from the Dent brewery) and the Sun Inn needs refurbishment, in my view.
Dent is compact but step out of its confines and a treat awaits you!

Wonderful surroundings and a well-equipped site with showers, laundry, farm shop, bookshop, etc. Showers cost 20p for 4 minutes which seems about normal. Very hot water though and a little difficult to adjust the temperature! By the time I sorted it out, I only had about 2 minutes left to wash.
Friendly owners and one of the guys even helped jump-start my Campervan! Bought some fresh eggs too. Perfect!
£11.50 for just myself in my van. Well recommended site.

This is a good site in beautiful surroundings. The showers etc. Are fine, they do what they're supposed to do without any fuss.Site close to river walk which pleased the dog.Dent is just out the gate, which is handy, especially coming back from the 2 pubs. We thought the site fees very expensive for few amenities compared to other sites we've visited which means next time we visit Dent we will stay at the other site in town for a fraction of the price.

This is a lovely site in a fab location. We camped in the overspill field but neither this nor the main field is too large. The facilities are more than adequate, clean and up to date. The shops, pubs and local beer are all very good. There is a playing field accessible from the site but separated by a stone wall and large trees, the river is a 5 minute walk away. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the pitches quite generous. Only down side is the need for midge repellant, and slightly high prices, neither of which would deter me from heading here again in a shot.

High laning campsite has been one of my favorite places to stay for many years, however their prices are quite high considering the ammenities on site. The toilet block is kept clean by the site owner Margaret who can be a bit overpowering if you haven`t met her before ( although she has a heart of gold). The village of Dent is a sleepy place, the Sun Hotel pub is good and the beer garden is nice at the back if you have a nice day to enjoy it. On site the views of the hills surrounding you are fantastic but watch out for the midgies around August time take plenty of sprays etc. The main field is good and the ground is easy to pitch on but beware if you get the bottom field it is prone to flooding if it rains heavy. If you are booking on a bank holiday this site will get very very busy so book early to be guarenteed a pitch.

Dent is a fabulous little village in a superb location, and we visited for the Music & Beer Festival 2009. I know I should have expected the site to be busy, but nothing could have prepared me for what we found. We were squashed in like sardines. It felt more like being on a car park than a camp site
he facilities were inadequate for the number of people who were there our weekend, many hundreds of units. The main field has just 2 toilets (men) and 1 shower. If you want a shower you have to go to the farm where there is another block of 5 male & 5 female.
The location is beautiful, but I can't honestly recommend a site where they are prepared to squash people in like they do here.

We arrived at High Laning separately in two cars, we had to pay a few pounds for the 2nd car but there was enough room at our pitch to squeeze it in.
The road leading to Dent (from the M6) is quite small for quite a few miles so make sure you take your time getting there.
We stayed at High Laning over the May Bank Holiday and I have never seen a campsite so busy, every available pitch was being filled. There must have been 1000's of campers filling up the two large fields on either side of the road.
On arrival there is a 'waiting area' on one side of the road (fairly clearly signed) where you are supposed to park. To find reception however you have to cross over the road and go through the gate to the other field and up the farm road to the house (and shower block) on the left at the top of the field (which mainly had campervans in it).
Margaret was busy rushing around on her quad-bike directing campers to pitches. She was extremely busy and wasn't always around so on arrival it was quite confusing as to where to go.
We only had a small 2man tent and were directed to a corner of the upper field close to the parked over-winter caravans (it was probably one of the better pitches) but we were soon hemmed in but more arrivals.
The shower block is quite adequate (20p for a decent shower). There was a coffee vending machine which was useful (although expensive - 60p for a very small coffee). Washing up facilities were adequate. There were laundry facilities as well. The shop had milk, biscuits, pies, tins, sweets etc.
Dent has two pubs but they were both SO busy over the BankHoliday that there was no chance of getting a table in either of them (even when we went at 5.30pm). We sat outside the back of the SunInn where there are some picnic tables beside the parking area and we were served there.
Dent itself is a pretty stone built village but has little amenities (cafe, 2pubs, small shop, church). Over the BankHoliday the population must've multiplied by about 1000times!
The DalesWay goes through Dent and its a nice walk (if a little tricky to follow - take a map!). We walked from Dent to the Sportsman Inn at Cowgill on a sunny day. It was a long walk and we rewarded ourselves with a decent lunch and a pint before walking to the Arten Gill viaduct.
All-in-all, High Laning campsite was good but there were too many people squashed onto the site. Next door there is another campsite (no facilities - just a field) and on the otherside of Dent village is another campsite (which appeared to have facilities), both those sites seemed less crowded.
I would stay at High Laning again but not on a BankHoliday weekend as it was rather over crowded.

We have just returned from a very sunny weekend here in Dent. The campsite is very clean . The toilets were kept clean and tidy. The showers were 20p for 3 mins but there was only one on the field we were in, the others were a short walk to the other camping field. The views were superb. An outstanding part of the country. The washing up sink is in the toilets which is not ideal and the price was quite high. I paid £52 for 2 nights, 2 adults and 3 children. There is nothing for the children on this site and ball games seem to be frowned on if busy. There are no clear pitches and on busy weekends I imagine you would be very close to your neighbours!.
One of the good things was that there was no push for you to leave - you could stay all day of you wish , which makes a nice change from these sites that kick you off at 11 in the morning!
I would definitely recommend this site.
