Good location on the edge of Dent, only 5 min walk to village centre.
We camped on the lower field, which had plenty of flat pitches and great views to Rise Hill.
The lady (I guess the owner) was extremely helpful and provided us with a of sheet site instructions and rules (which is great idea)and lots of leaflets on the local area. The reception doubles as a farm shop with lots of fab local produce from meat to perserves.
Pros:
- Great location, great for walkers or those happy to potter around the village.
- Flat pitches in lower field, which when we went had far more tents than caravans than in the top field.
- Decent, clean toilet block in lower field with washing up facilities, hot water and waste disposal.
Cons:
- Showers only available in top field toilet block. Very small cubicles and 20p doesn't get you far. I admit I didn't have my contact lenses in (!) but the block appeared to be unisex, with separate entrances for male and females.
I will happily return to this site - and this time bring the BBQ for their sausages!

This site is a lovely relaxing place,it is next to a working farm which has some interesting smells and noises coming from it,which added a little more to our holiday. The village of Dent is a lovely little place to walk around, not far from the site. The owners of the site are very helpful and friendly, the toilets and showers are kept clean. This site is ideal for driving to plenty of areas near and far, loads to see, even a little museum outside the site. My family and I will be going again,

We have been to High laning for several years now and enjoyed every time, However the prices that are now being charged are quite steep for the facilities on site. This is rather disappointing as we are now looking for other sites to visit.
Don`t get me wrong this site is very good if you want a quiet weekend away in beautiful surroundings but be warned take some midgy repellent with you especially around July - August.
Also this site will get very busy at Bank holiday times so book before you set off and be prepared to pay around £20 - £30 for the night.

Just returned this morning from High Laning Camping and Caravan Park. We had a lovely spot given to us by Margaret who was very helpful. Although a bit chilly (which is actually an understatement!) we did have a lovely time once we thawed out, recovered from a burst airbed, and making three trips during the night to the toilet block with a grumpy three year old - we are the Grizwalds! Site very clean, shop a little expensive but worth a visit if you need basics and its a lovely walk through the cobbled streets to the two pubs. We ate in the George and Dragon which was ok - although had to send my meal back as it was burnt! Children liked it though which is what counts!. This is my second visit and will definitely go again - with leg warmers, my own bed and without the kids!

We have just returned from the lovely village of Dent. The site was very well organised and the owner Margaret was more than helpful. The facilities were spot on and very clean there are plenty of showers and toilets, also a well stocked shop, Margaret was always on hand if needed. The area is wonderful for the likes of us walkers, or if you just want a relaxing time the scenery was to die for, the weather could not have been any better, we have come back with a lovely sun tan, hows that for an Easter weekend, We even booked an extra night. The two pubs in the village were super, both serving excellent food and a good selection of real ales, and both dog friendly. We will definitely return soon.

We have just come back from a four night trip to Dent. We arrived in the wind and rain to a quiet little site with hardly any other campers on there, apart from a few stored caravans. We had to leave the car slightly away from the pitch as areas are roped off to stop the field getting muddy. We thought the price of £16.50 per night for our tent (with two of us staying in it) was quite high, the most we have ever had to pay, especially considering our friends only had to pay £15.50 for their camper van which included electric hook up.
The location is lovely, beautiful views and very remote. However the site got incredible busy over the Easter weekend, the pitches didn’t seem to be clearly defined with not a lot of order to where people pitched. We went out for the day in our car and came back to a motor home set up in our space. Margaret sorted this for us the next day by giving us a cone to put out during the day to save our space.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We loved the George and the Dragon pub. Excellent food, you can also have a selection of Dent ales. :o) There is a little shop on site and a village store which has everything you could need. There are plenty of lovely walks you can do from the site, we would recommend going to Ribblehead from Dent station on the train and walking back!
Facilities were basic but clean. 20p for a 3min shower or if you’re lucky a 4 min one!

We arrived to find that the main field was closed due to ongoing work. The owner asked us to pitch the caravan in a crowded area across the road. Much of the space was roped off to protect the grass. The area is uneven and there were, in our opinion, no suitable pitches available for a larger caravan.
It owners could have informed us of the problems and ongoing work when we booked the site. The pitch fees had not been reduced to reflect the situation and seemed pricey at £16.50. We left the site and found an alternative. The owner said that if we were leaving we had to reverse out of the narrow entrance into the narrow main road and not go on the grass to turn.
People with larger caravans should choose their route to the site carefully.

Lovely area and really nice location.
Pros
I would definitely recommend a stay in Dent. Its a short distance off the M6 and made a good/nice weekend trip. We went for the bank holiday and found plenty to do although most places are a cars journey away. Ingleton Falls were beautiful.
The shop was well stocked with local produce. There's not much to see/do in the village but the church is nice to visit and its a pleasant short walk through. There are also two pubs which get very busy but are nice when you can grab a seat.
Cons
20p warmish shower. Wouldn't mind paying the 20p if the showers were warm enough to stand under.
It was a busy weekend so tents went up haphazardly in no particular order. The tents next to us ended up blocking the path to the toilet block.

Stayed here for one night very nice owners. Take long leads for hook up and big level blocks as it does slope. If you go to the pub take a torch as there is no street lights. Only made it to the sun inn very good food and beer. I would come back to stay. Not the best of roads to get to it. Will be a busy place in summer. Cant comment about toilets as I didn't use them (used my own)

20 of us camped here with 4 children. The site was next to the toilets and they were good and clean. You do have to wash your pots in this area though, but it didn't seem to be a problem.
You have to go across the road for the 20p showers which were also clean and spacious. The land is fairly even and the host offered to give us mats as there was torrential rain at the time.
There was plenty of space and it was not over crowded at the time.
Dent has a few public houses and a coffee and cake shop.
The breathtaking views when you open your tent in the morning is worth the travel here. That's when it's a lovely sunny day and not over cast with torrential rain!
I would recommend this site and we will probably go back again soon.
