Just got back from a 3 night stay, we had a great time. The site is as expected, pitches all hard standing, laundry room, drying room, family room with ping pong, pool etc, kids bathroom, standards very good, and in a great location. Castleton just a 10 min walk
Play area not as good as other cc sites especially for the smaller kids, and no shop on site either, although you could walk or drive into Hope where you will find a Spar, post office, cash machine chinese restraunt / takeaway, a few pubs, and a camping shop. I have been to another site in hope (called lane side ) a couple of miles away from this site, but after staying at lose hill I dont think I would go back to lane side.

Lose hill is a good site and I am going back in 4 weeks time. Would be better with a slide and swing for kids, and maybe a shop for bread milk eggs bacon ice cream etc. Well thats my view anyway.

Great site ,toilets showers were excellent. Brilliant location. Castleton is a lovely village with excellent pubs, all but one were dog friendly. The George and the Cheshire Cheese inn did very good food. Fantastic walks around the area.

We will be back.

Used this site at Easter. It was our third visit and still found different things to do. The site is up to the usual CC standards and very popular to boot. The village is a short walk from the site, there's about six pubs all of which do food. We had a very good meal in the George which was dog and child friendly. Can't wait for our next visit.

Really pleasent warm welcome at reception, staff really helpfull. Site is well spaced, seperated with grass verges. Facilties are nice, warm and clean. There's an information centre on site also. Excellent location can do a lovely walk from site, turn right and take the public footpath sign on right, takes a country walk to Castleton then continue round to hope and back along road to campsite (2hrs). Will return in summer.

Just back from a visit to this site. Very frosty weekend with very sunny days. Done a walk up the Mam Tor which was very nice. Lots of things to do in the area.
The camp site is wonderful, very clean and tidy. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Lots of pubs/restuarants in the village which is only a five minute walk away, the best for food is The Bulls Head bit more expensive than the others but well worth the extra. I had the gammon it was at least an inch thick, hubby had steak it to was wonderful. This was our second visit to the area and we will definitely be coming back lots more times this year.

We stayed here just for a night. This is a lovely site literally just down the road from Castleton (a lovely little town). All the Christmas lights look lovely at this time of year and we spent out time in some very nice pubs (all of which allowed our Scottish Terrier in). We have already booked to go back here for a longer stay when the nights are lighter and the weather hopefully less wet!

The pitches as you enter through the barrier are near to the road and when we arrived these were the only ones available. The road noise was not really that evident, perhaps it may be if you were sitting outside on a lovely sunny day, but as it was we were not bothered by it at all. The wardens are really friendly and the toilet block clean. Pitches are very spacious.

Don't hesitate in going here - it's perfect for a relaxing stay.

We used this site for 2 days and wish we could have stopped for longer.

Toilet facilities were clean and tidy, wardens were nice and friendly.

Campsite was ideally situated for loads of walks and cycling.

Will definitely be using this one again.

This Caravan Club site is really well located for walking and exploring the Peak District.

The toilet facilities are excellent and kept immaculately clean. There is a laundry and a very welcome drying room for your wet boots and jackets, so good for year-round visits.

All caravan/motorhome pitches appeared to be hard-standing, some having a nice grassy area too. There is a field for tents too, but I didn't investigate that.

Both Castleton and Hope are within walking distance, so plenty of pubs to try.

Recommended.

We stayed at Losehill because everywhere else in Hope was full.   The other reviews here are all true - the toilets are clean, facilities are good etc but it was not our cup of tea.   Apart from the tent field, you have to camp on gravel - good in bad weather admittedly.
The site was VERY quiet - on a beautiful summer evening everyone seemed to be in their caravan watching TV at 9pm.  We don't have children but they don't seem very welcome here - well not if they are fun loving anyway - there are no ball games and the whole place feels as though it's very rule driven.
Watch out for the newspapers too - none of the big pile in the shop on Saturday morning were for sale - all had been pre-ordered.
The Cheshire Cheese in Hope is a must.  Didn't eat there but we learned how to pull a fantastic pint when it bcame self-service about half past ten!

Have just spent 4 days at Losehill. Lovely site. I agree with all of the above. Additions are:1. Papers can be ordered at the shop 2. Fresh baguettes on sale every morning 3. Pitches little cramped when site is full.
Area comments: 1. The courtyard cafe in hope is brilliant. Cath the owner is very lovely. 2. Hope is the village with all the facilities like hitchn hike excellent camping/outdoor shop, bike shop, green grocers, spar, car boot on a Sunday. 3. Castleton is very pretty but not a practical village  -fish nchip shop never open but lots of cafes pubs outdoor shops souvenir shops. Go to the hidden tea shop near peak cavern.
If you are into cycling do the trip round the reservoir very picturesque. Car park gets busy
