Stayed here for a long weekend. Didn't set off too well when another caravanner said he was leaving early due to the weather. Unfortunately the weather didn't improve much whilst we were there but that's not the sites fault.
Location is great. It's a short walk to both Castleton and Hope village. More to see and do in Castleton as there is the castle, mines and shops etc but there are walks straight from the site which is good. We managed one day out on the hills up Losehil itself and then over to Mar Tor. The views are amazing!
Chinese Restaurant/Takeaway in Hope village is a bit scabby so we drove that extra 10 minutes into Chapel en le Firth and had a nice takeaway.
The facilities on site are good but the showers are dated and need an upgrade, plus the pressure wasn't that clever.
Will we be back - don't think so. The are nicer CC sites than this one. Sorry :-)

Had 9 great nights here at losehill, absolute bang on site, great walks for us, and dog, tv reception is poor, but we had a freesat setup, sat good depending where you are pitched
Toilet and showers kept very clean with plenty of hot water, also very reasonable in price. Can recommend this site if you love walking, will definitely return in the near future.

We visited this site over Easter, thought it was a lovely site in a good position, usual good standard of showers and toilets kept well. It is an easy walk into Castleton and the scenery around is breathtaking.
My only complaints are that the kids playground was too small and seemed an afterthought and the dogwalk was just a complete waste of time, we ended up walking our dogs in the parkland next door. The dogwalk is right next door to the main road, also I don't agree with the long list of rules you are given as dog owner on arrival.

Managed to get on for Easter. A cracking site with all the usual CC amenities and up to their excellent standards. Family games room great for the kids.
Ideal location close enough to walk into Castleton. Plenty to see and do on foot or with a short drive if necessary. Some good pubs in Castleton doing food especially 'The Peaks' 'The George' and 'The Castle.' The Real Fudge Co. has a selection of sweets that really will take you back to your childhood and some brilliant local ice cream to boot.
Chippy van arrives on site but beware it does exactly what it says on the side. Fish & Chips only ! Have tried getting on the site since but always fully booked and no wonder, brilliant.

Love this site, have been before and have booked to come again in December to see the Christmas Lights.
Wonderful, friendly wardens. This site takes some beating.
Nice and handy for walking into Castleton and into Hope where there is a Chinese takeaway, good food. Lovely walks especially over into Edale the scenery is beautiful and good food at the Nags Head.
As usual the showers and toilet blocks kept very clean and plenty of hot water. Just a site to keep coming back to.

Just stayed two nights here and it couldn't be faulted. Pitches spacious and site peaceful despite it being school holidays and every pitch taken. Wardens were helpful and friendly.
Previous reports from dog owners had been a little off putting but we walked from site up to the top of Lose Hill and over the ridge to Winnats via Mam Tor and encountered very little problems with stiles and our dog is a Mastiff (walk took about 2 hours). Morning walk with dog was also easy in that public footpaths went from just down the road from site and made a nice circular walk (and livestock fenced in).
The walk into Castleton via the public footpath was lovely and also dog friendly. Castleton is lovely and we had a lovely cream tea there. Will definitely be going back as we didn't get to do the walk to Lady Bower! An ordnance survey map definitely recommended.

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday in Castleton staying at Losehill Caravan Club Site. The site is level with all hard standing and plenty of space between you and your neighbour. The toilet and shower block were absolutely spotless and lovely and warm. The washing up and veg prep room also spotless. We used the laundry which was quite reasonable and there was also a drying room. Also a good tourist information room which included reviews on local places to eat.
The whole site was beautifully kept and friendly wardens made our stay all the better. Castleton is about 10 minutes walk away and includes some lovely shops and is very pictureque. We used the 'Cheddar Cheese Inn' when we fancied a drink and ate there as well, can highly recommend this place. The whole area is lovely and although we are not great walkers we still found plenty of things to do and visited Matlock Bath, Buxton and Bakewell.
Overall we had a brilliant time and would recommend the site and area. We were also blessed with very good weather which was a bonus.

Lovely site, close to village so a walk in is very pleasant. Well managed, as you would expect from a Caravan Club site.
Facilities are spotless and if your luck enough to get a sunset, it's spectacular through the trees.
An ideal location for touring the High Peaks. Entrance is quite sharp when approaching from Castleton so be careful!
Very popular though, if you want to go, book early, especially at weekends.

This site is clean and tidy. I have 2 negative comments. The pitches are on the small side and are quite tight. Be careful that you park your van the right way around as the wardens won't be pleased. The dog walk is tiny and right near a busy road. I would advise people who have a dog which needs to be off the lead at any time not to visit this area, its a nightmare as no dogs are allowed off lead anytime or anywhere. If we'd known this beforehand it would have put us off all together as this is part of the joy of a caravan \ walking holiday to see your dog running free.

We were in the area and looking for a pitch for one night. Luckily they had space but were almost full as you would expect at this time of year.
The site is immaculate, good size pitches and very well laid out. Facilities are also top notch.
Great location and nice pubs in walking distance.
Couple of grumbles;
1. There is one toilet/shower block which closes from 10:30 - 11:30 for cleaning. Once it's shut there are no alternative facilities.
2. The site is boundaried by a main road on one side and a long driveway to whatever is next door on another. Both generated a lot of traffic noise, fairly high speed (even up the driveway)
