Just returned after spending five nights at Filey Brigg and thought we would add our comments about this site.
First the good points. Fantastic location. Plenty of places to visit within a short drive away. Beach only a few minutes walk away.Plenty of free space for the kids to run around and burn off their energy as well as a play ground for them to use.
Now for the bad points. The old shower block in need of a major upgrade and is sadly showing its age. The newer one used mainly by those with caravans is excellent though. Lack of hot water,it was a bit hit and miss if you got any which was a pain when washing your pots, showering ect.
Overall this site is fine if your after a no frills site and were using it as a base in order to view the local area.
Improvements: Upgrade shower block and hot water supply and also add electric points for those using tents. If these were done then the site would be very good as the location sells it.

Great location, decent though not luxurious loo block which is kept clean. Good hot showers. Pitches level and grass kept short. Good traditional facilities for children with play park and good safe internal roadway for bikes. Decent pitches and not too crowded. Staff helpful and pleasant. Filey has good clean beaches with good rockpooling not far from campsite. Country park well kept and lots of activity to watch.

Stayed here with a group of friends, we had 5 tents between us (no electric) and because the pitches aren't marked out, it was a bit of a free for all!
There is a field just next to the campsite where the kids played and there's also a playground which the kids loved and we could see them to keep an eye on them.
The site is council owned so it worked out very reasonably priced, a £5 (returnable) deposit was required for a card to get entry into the toilet and shower block. The toilets and showers aren't great, and there is a lack of recycling bins available. However, the position of the campsite is fantastic a couple of mins from the beach and town centre and Filey is built on a hill so it's practically impossible to walk around Filey without walking up a hill so don't let previous reviews put you off.
The Manager was really friendly and helpful as were the other staff, there is also a shop with a small cafe attached, the shop sold the basics but the site is only a few minutes walk from the town centre with excellent local shops and Inghams fish and chip restaurant is worth a visit.

Stayed here over the bank holiday it was our first time camping, the site itself was clean and friendly. The only problem we had was that the showers were cold unless you got there really early like 6.30am so you could have a hot shower.
The play area was a well secured area, with plenty to do for the kids, the beach was only 5mins walk, even though downhill not ideal for wheelchairs, unless you can get out and walk at the bottom it was quite a hill.

This was a our very first camping trip together. Both of us had been to this site previously with friends and family and were not disappointed on our return. Despite the strong gusts of wind the site was busy, all the facilities were clean and there was ample for everyone to use. We did have the odd boy racer doing laps round the car park on one of the evenings but not very late or very long.
Filey itself is to me one of the most perfect locations on the British coast, the beach is clean and the Brigg is an intriguing walk. The seafront has all you will need to entertain yourself and any kids for the weekend. We did not venture into the town but from previous visits I know it has all necessary amenities such as a bus station and a supermarket.
We will definitely be returning later in the year.

Having read numerous reviews about this site, we decided that the location was ideal for getting the dogs to the beach without the need for a car. Just good stamina for the hills! So we booked in for four nights, Monday to Friday.
As I expected with the time of year (late April) and starting mid-week, the site was relatively quite with plenty of pitches to pick from, both hardstanding and grass. There are fresh water taps all over the site, with drains for grey waster near each one. Large rubbish bins are located in areas around the site, which where emptied twice during our stay.
There are two toilet/shower blocks on the site, both require a swipe card from reception (£5 refundable deposit) to enter. The blocks in the middle of the site where spotless, and appear to have been refurbished recently, they where toasty warm. The block near reception / shop where a little more dated and although clean and tidy, was not quite as good as the other.
The evening noise report on before, was present but did not seem to be as bad as reported. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer it not to be there. A barrier at the entrance using the swipe system for site users would make sense!
The town is within easy walking distance, as dog owners the priority was to find a pub with a beer garden or similar for the dogs to be allowed in. There are a few, and are also a few pubs that will allow dogs in, handy if the weathers not so kind.
To sum up, we originally booked for 4 nights, but ended up staying for 6 nights (Superb weather, which where probably the 6 days of summer). The staff in reception where friendly and helpful. The site was clean and tidy. Facilities where clean tidy and presentable.
Would we go back. I am not a fan of large campsites. But YES. The positives far outweigh the any negatives.

Easter Weekend!
Great location - could walk to town in 5-10 mins, some great restaurants, pubs. Lovely walks on clifftops.
Not a great site for tents, very small pitching area which was crowded on bank holiday. Did have good views of cliffs though.
Showers really weren't great. Often cold unless you were lucky and found a quiet time. Definitely needed updating and our swipe card wouldn't work in the new block on a different part of the site.
Shop and cafe are convenient but we didn't use them as town was so close by. Park for the kids, popular for families as there is a huge green to play on adjacent to the site.
Probably better here on a quieter weekend.

Stayed at this site over the Easter weekend. Location was great, with country park to all sides, the beach and Filey were both within walking distance. Pitches were fairly level, and fairly well spaced.
The not so good bits.
The site was completely full (I did hear rumour that they had squeezed on a few extra units) which may have contributed to the power tripping off on the Saturday night at the site sub-station. The site had to call out local electricity company to get it fixed.
There was plenty of showers, but often they were cold. Block by reception was grubby, and in need of renovation. Neither block was really what we would call properly clean over the entire weekend (even when using directly after cleaning time!).
Driving onto the site, it struck me how exposed the site was to the public. We realised when we left that we were supposed to have displayed a ticket in the car to gain entry onto the site. We didn't realise, and so weren't displaying the ticket - we were never challenged however driving onto site.
Would we go back again? Maybe, but it's certainly not high on our list of sites to return to.

Spent two nights here in May.
Have been here many years ago with family and decided to try it out again.
Facilities were quite basic but very clean. Pitch was level and there was plenty of space.
We didn't have any problems with noise/young people driving around outside etc. It was really quiet.
Lovely to have a cafe on the site that had veggie options other than a cooked breakfast without the meat.
Had lovely chips in the brown rooms in Filey. Was just as good as I remembered it. We also spent some time in Scarborough and had a fab ice cream at the harbour bar. Well worth trying out!
Overall good value for money and a pleasant stay. Will go back again.

First time we have visited this site. Pitches were well spaced out and well maintained. Shop / cafe well stocked with basic goods. Short walk to the beach, although uphill on the way back!
Filey is a lovely town clean and well kept.we had a really good holiday & will be returning.
We did not hear any of the locals practising their rallying skills in the nearby carpark.
