Stayed here on bank holiday weekend. On arrival the man on reception looked like he had enough,he was unpleasant My little girl was desperate for the toilet on arrival, and as the toilet blocks are card entry, he said that we had to pitch first before he would give us a entry card. It wouldnt have hurt him and say he would let her in.

When finally in toilet blocks they were dirty, not much hot water(well lukewarm) toilets were blocked and this was only on the friday!.

At night the car park was a race track for local kids in cars and this went on till 0130/0200.

But all said its the perfect location for Filey town. You can either walk down the path or via the beach. The hill up from the beech is rather steep and I advise not to push a double buggy up there. I did and really regretted it!

Filey is a really nice town, loads of things to do for adults and kids alike. Loads of different places to eat, inc indian, chinese and pizza. We had a take away and could have had it delivered, if you fancied a drink so the need for driving wasn't there.

Marks out of 10 for campsite 5

Marks out of ten for filey 8

Conclusion if you can put with some noisy nights with the local kids and the lack of security then this campsite can be overswayed by filey and the conveince of the town and beach. Bad start but it got better as the long weekend went on. Just got use to it I suppose.

We visited this site during the school spring holidays. A nice site very close to the beach, the showers / toilets were very clean but I did notice a sign asking parents to supervise their older children as the toilets were purposefully being blocked up with loo roll, so perhaps this is a problem in peak season.

The site was quiet when we visited but I can imagine it will get rather manic during school hols when it's at full capacity.

We were late arrivals (advised them of this when booking and were told just to pitch on any available space and go to reception the following morning)which meant we couldn't get any electricity or acess to the toilet block as this is keycard access only.

A well stocked shop and cafe on site along with a decent children's play area and good access to the beach and Filey town centre.

What a pity this site closes so early (Sept) stayed several times in 2007 and would recommend it for service, facilities (toilets & showers very good)and location. The staff are very helpful & friendly. It isn’t far to walk to the beach or into the town.

Most amazing value! Shop, wash room and toilets all nearby and spotless.

A very peaceful stay with the local youngsters only trying out their driving skills for a short time early in the evening at a nearby car park.

Awesomely fantastic views close to the site.

Filey town, with its attractive pubs and wonderfully refreshing non clone-town-centre shops, is only a short walk away.

A great site for people visiting Scarborough, Bridlington and the surrounding area.

Very highly recommended and look forward to many more visits.

Tremendous thanks to all the friendly staff for helping make it a great stay.

Great site. Have been here half a dozen times. New toilet block excellent. Views over the bay are lovely as is the short walk into Filey. Location is plus point of the site, but the downside is the lack of security and youngsters in cars on the adjoing car park at night.

Visited this site twice in 2006, excellent site, new toilet blocks were being built. The site is excellent for chill out holidays, not commercialised, easy access to the beach and Filey town.
Will be visiting this site several times in 2007. The best site we have visited, we will not be using any other site, we have found our haven.
Helpful staff, friendly, clean unaffected site with shop, child friendly playground with a fence round - Perfect.

Filey brigg is a lovely site owned by Scarborough council, not a modern site needs up grading.

Half the site has good hard standing, but in wet weather not all site is used. £12 low season £19 high this year. Café / shop sells good food and milk papers etc.

It’s a nice walk in to Filey or walk round the Brigg. Fishing down the slip road, just a short walk.

The only problem with site can be if the boy racers come in the next field, they play their music loud and do wheel spins on grass. Don’t expect any help from the office, he told us to phone police and complain. The police come out to them and asked them to go, but they came back, it was 2am when they stopped and went home, but they don’t come every night. The lads on the scooters came in gangs and ride on to site over grass and away they go.

So if you want to take a chance go to Filey Brigg.

What a lovely site!  Plenty of toilets and sinks -all clean and well lit and very near to the tent area.   Nice little shop/cafe at the entrance and children's play area nearby.
With a sea view and easy access to the beach, plus a 10 minute stroll into Filey centre the site is in a great location.

Really enjoyed it and will return next year.

First time we have stayed here and I am leaving with mixed opinions.

The site is quite large and is perfectly sited for both the beach and the town - beach is a 5 min walk down a steep slipway and the town only 10mins away.

The amenities onsite are very good - a small shop, good toliet facilities and everything you could want really.

So why the mixed opinions ???

As a previous report suggests, on Friday and Saturday night we were woken on a number of occassions by drunken yobs walking through the campsite shouting and swearing very loud. The last occurrence was about 3am when they also decided to take up a number of guy ropes on our awning. The site could be perfect, but it seems to let large groups and single sex parties stay - which if this is your thing - great - if like me you need somewhere for families, by all means try your luck, as for me - I'll be off back to centenary way.
