Well what can I say ! What an excellent site this is. We have just returned from a Bank Holiday break at this site and it could not be faulted. The site is well kept and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although the site was full we did not queue for the showers at all. The site has a shallow river running through it and had the weather been better the children would have enjoyed wading in it. The owner has dug out one corner of the river to enable swimming in the summer - yet to be tested by us. The site is a short drive - or a long walk - from Caernarfon centre where there are a multitude of shops and a Morrisons supermarket. Closer to the site is a small Spar where you can buy essentials etc. On site there is cafe that serves hot food until 4.45pm everyday - this was quite pricey though so wouldn't want to eat there everyday. Having said that the food was OK and they do have a children's menu. We will definitely go back for another visit - top trip.

I stayed at Riverside for two nights this month. I usually stay at pretty basic sites but I was taking my six year old nephew along for his first ever camping trip so I wanted decent facilities and some swings / slides. Had a great time and would definitely recommend. Easy to find and very close to Caernarfon. Toilet and washing up facilities were good and we loved the river running around the site.

First class site, good pitches, clean toilets, on site cafe was excellent. River is very good for the children to paddle in. Town is only a few mins drive. Bad bits, and only one bad thing, quite dark at night but they did tell me more lighting is being installed this winter. The on line booking dosent work so best to ring, very helpful.
We are just about to book for next year.

Just returned home from a great weekend at Riverside. What a fab little hideaway, a treasure. The site itself is set alongside a garden centre. The site is very well maintained, beautiful setting. The majority of the pitches are close to the running stream which is shallow and ideal for padding, whether your kids are old or young! Take a dingy with you, they looked real fun. All pitches looked good, however, the two hardstanding pitches seemed to have been an after thought, with the laundry and cafe along side it - I would avoid these given the chance. We were lucky enough to stay on pitch 20 which was nicely located to the stream and facilities. TV signal was poor, even satellite was difficult to get - a case of now you see it now you don't! For the first time ever we never ventured off site from the Friday when we arrived to the Sunday late afternoon when we left. The lady on reception was great. Very accommodating and made us feel very relaxed. There was no one on our pitch the day we left so we were allowed to leave at our own convenience, this made a welcome change to sites were you are normally instructed to leave mid morning. The garden centre cafe was lovely. Very clean, food appeared to be of a high standard. We had a coffee and it was value for money and delicious.
I would recommend this site to campers of all ages and looking for a relaxed atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. We weren't and we will definitely return soon.

Lovely site but the quiet river expected was a raging torrent when we first arrived and we had a sleepless night wondering if we would have to move. Nice pitch sizes and book in advance to get a pitch by the riverside. Lovely area and in easy reach of both mountain and beach pursuits. Definitely on our return to list.

Just returned from a week at Riverside. Had a great week there and exploring the surrounding area. Although the weather was not brilliant and we had rain a couple of times, the site is sheltered and level and we had no problems with it. Our children (9&11) enjoyed the river and went fishing a few times. The play area didn't entice our kids but was great for all ages. We didn't sample the food from the cafe but had a peek and it looked fine - when we next visit we will eat there! There are adequate shops within 2 miles away so no need to take too many provisions. We will be back.

I would really like to keep this one to myself - however they really deserve a great review. What a beautiful site, we pitched our tent on the edge of the river bank and the children were constantly in the water - with their shorties on they loved it - the youngest was 2 and it was brilliant for him. The site is in a hollow surrounded by trees so wind was minimum and the play area and services were fantastic. You can put your ice blocks in a freezer and night and get them out in the morning (free of charge). There is also a plug to charge things up on or use your "STRAIGHTENERS". The breakfasts in the Mill Cafe on site were scrummy and good value - free tea and coffee for campers with a breakfast. Make sure you leave enough room in the car for the plants in the garden centre - all in all a wonderful site - we will definitely go back. Thank you for a great week!

Just spent a week here and what a great site. We had two children 10 and 9 and we hardly ever saw them, they enjoyed the park, the river and exploring. We had a pitch on the river which was fantastic and the cafe in the garden centre is great if you don't fancy cooking. It rained nearly every day of our stay but the pitches are fairly level so no problems there, The site is also very central for visiting the surrounding areas. We have booked again for next year as we had such a great time. The only down side is the toilets ran out of loo paper twice during the week. So take your own just in case.

What a lovely site! We chose it after reading the reviews on here and loved it. The site is clean, peaceful, very picturesque and the facilities well maintained. On arrival the owner (I think) showed us a couple of pitches he thought suitable which was a nice touch. Caernarfon itself is a quite a nice little town for a walk around, we also went on the steam train with my little one choo-chooing all the way! Well recommended.
