This is by far the best campsite we have been to and we have been to quite a few, we came for a weekend in May and liked it so much we booked for a week in June, there is a really nice river running all the way round the site and it is very shallow, toilet showers and washing facilities were spot on we had a relaxing time even though there were a lot of kids on the site they played in the middle section where the playground is so the outer section of the camp where the river runs is quite peacefull (no footballs bouncing of the tent).
The staff were very friendly and very knowledgable of the area.
There is a Spar Shop 1 mile down the road and prices are very reasonable and less than 2 mile from Caernarfon so there is lots to do in the surrounding area.
We had a great time and are looking forward to going back soon

Brilliant! This is the best family campsite I have ever been to. Plenty of space left for ball games etc, free hot showers, washing up facilities, freezer for ice packs. River for paddling and a park right in centre of site. Helpful, friendly staff. Have booked to go back later on in the year already. Not too far from beaches, National Trust properties and plenty of other attractions. A couple of miles from supermarkets but far enough to still be in the middle of nowhere. Great, highly recommended.

Lovely site. We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend and even though it was fully booked the site did not seem to busy.
There is a lovely playground for the kids and a river that they can paddle in.
The showers were free and were clean and hot.
There was also a hairdryer ( with a nicley positioned mirror)in the shower block which took tokens.
Fantastic relaxing site, will definitely come again.

This is a superb flat campsite! Very nice by the river. The staff are friendly. The old mill cafe is good value and the garden centre attached is an added bonus.
The site is safe for children and our group had 3 tents which were able to be pitched together.
Shower and toilet area very clean with plenty of hot water. Site was lit well without being too over bright at night.
A good base to explore the surrounding area.

We have stayed at this site before but when we arrived we were double booked on pitch 3 but out came Super Don the camp manager. What a man sorted everything out and even got us a pitch by the river for our trouble with ehu as well. This why we returned this Easter because of the warm welcome and great help that we received off don and this time the service was just as good . All in all this site is great we have stayed in winter and summer and its great. In the summer the kids play in the river or on the park

Great site very nice staff. I had grass pitch in wet weather as the hard standing was taken. There was plenty of staff to put hard tracks onto pitch and I was able to come and go.
Some great Cycle tracks and MUST recommend the Indian some few hundred yards from the site a must. Showers very clean and plenty of hotwater would go back great base.

We went to the site in August, and it was quite full. The showers were nice, though did have to queue sometimes at peak times, and we discovered that there were two shower blocks one of which had more so less queuing! The kids play area was lovely, they had a huge sand pit which our kids enjoyed. A river which is quite noisy runs around the edge of the site but looks fantastic for a little white water inflatable riding and the older kids were enjoying that. There is plenty to do in the area, the food at the nurserys is nice and it has a beautiful coffee shop and restaurant, other than that you need to travel to Caernarfon for shopping. There are soft play areas in the local village, little bit of a drive to a beach. We could only find 2 washing up sinks in our stay so they got a little queued too. But it was nice and we enjoyed our holiday.

FANTASTIC. What more can I say, it was brill, our first time camping, with seasoned regulars. It rained it poured and nearly flooded, but Don was a really helpful guy. We even stayed an extra night and have booked already for next year. Once the water had gone down, back to a stream, we were happy to let the kids play in it, and what was nicer, the adults all sat on the river bank, wine in hand, bottles chillin in the stream watchin them play. Having not been camping before I can't really comment on the facilities, but I had no complaints and our friends who go camping most weekends said that they were great. We took our dog with us, and nobody batted an eye lid.
We can't wait for next year, really looking forward to it, so much so, I've already bought a bigger tent. Jo Gaz and Boyz & Linda Dave & Ab.

My family and I came to Riverside for a weeks break. It is not the first time we have been here (see Review for June 07). Because of heavy rain when we should have come in July we cancelled that holiday. To be fair the caretakers reduced this holiday by our July deposit. The campsite was much busier this time however we were shown to our pitch by the caretaker and he was extremely helpful. The river although fast running due to rain didn't burst it's banks as previously so that was a relief. As before the facilities are very good, childrens play area is brilliant and the garden centre nearby is lovely and sells the brightest solar lights I've ever come across. The other campers we met this time were fantastic and many that we spoke to will definitely be returning next year. We've already booked ! There are not many electric pitches on the site and they do get booked very early in the year. The site is level, the grass is always kept tidy and if it does get cut up they keep the cars away from those areas. Great idea! The site is recycling friendly which is great. We had a more relaxing time this time and our thanks go to Don and Chris (caretakers) for all their help and friendliness when we were there.

Just got back from riverside, I must say what a beautiful site it is. We all had a great time, the kids loved the park with the sandpit and also enjoyed paddling in the river. The only complaint I had with the site was the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, they could of done to be cleaned thoroughly, rather than a quick wipe and mop. The smell wasn't pleasant unfortunately. Llanberis is a great day out for everyone, there is rowing boats on the lake, a good little steam train which goes around the lakeside, also the train which runs up snowdonia, a slate museum which is free admission, and an aventure playground for kids.
