Had a long weekend here as we've been looking for somewhere nearby we can go to for weekends away. Took some friends who'd never camped before so best of both for us, we had EHU (£15 per night) friends didn't (£12 per night).
The site is basically a very large field with a small hedge running down the middle from the top end to about half way down, then all the pitches are based around the edge.
There are plenty of water points around, the toilet block was kept clean on the whole (there was a dog show on the Sunday with a lot of extra visitors and that coupled with a power cut meant that evening the toilets were a little bit dirty).
There are 3 showers, 3 toilets and 2 urinals in the mens, 4 showers, 4 toilets for the ladies and a family/disabled washroom, 2 washing up sinks and a freezer. There was plenty of hot water, but unfortunately the showers are the push button type (something I dislike).
The site allows groups, of which there was a number while we were there (of varying age groups old and young), but there's plenty of room for everyone to play in the middle of the field or at the play park, and all the noise had died down by 11pm.
The shop is well stocked but you'd expect this as it's the main shop for the village.
The only downside, was trying to find out if our pitch booking was confirmed, I had to email a couple of times. We will definitely be returning.

Spent a long weekend at Top End Farm and were really pleased with site.
Booking in was easy – wandered into shop, paid for stay (£15 a night with EHU) and was shown to our pitch.
Pitches are a nice size and are all around the edge of the fields leaving nice big area in the middle for games of football, cricket etc. There were quite a few group bookings so nice to know as some campsites don’t like groups.
Playground was good, kept my two entertained, best thing there was skateboard ramp used by all the kids not for skateboards but to find numerous ways to slide down it ;-)
Toilet/shower/washing up facilities were not the biggest so there were a few queues, but they were always being cleaned and maintained.
Staff were really nice and friendly – seemed to work hard and enjoy what they do, no massive list of rules and regs – just polite friendly people.
Shop was well stocked (as it’s the village shop) and had some nice fresh produce.
All in all it’s the perfect campsite if you want the kids to go off and play make friend, enjoy the odd game of cricket, have a barbecue and toast marshmallows in the evening. We would definitely return here, especially with a group of friends for an easy chilled out weekend, and for the price it’s a bargain! Can’t comment on surrounding area as we didn’t really leave the site.
Keep up the good work Top End! We will be back

This is a lovely, clean, family site. There are plenty of water points and the site store has everything you could possibly need.
The park keeps the children amused but there is also plenty of room for them to play games.
I like the fact that the owners do not let the site get too crowded. This means that there is enough space for everyone and you don't need to queue for the toilets. Both toilets and showers are spotless with no unpleasant smells!
The village is small but there is a pub and local shop although we didn't use either.

We stayed here at the end of July with another family and had no problem pitching together. Site cost is very reasonable at £15 per night with EHU. Site is just a huge field which is very well looked after. Unfortunately the kids were unable to use the park and skate ramp due to the horrendous weather we had leading up to this week that part of the site was out of bounds due to it being water logged. But that wasn't a problem we took plenty for the kids to do.
Site showers and toilets were always warm and clean, they closed each morning for 1 hour to be be cleaned. Washing up facilities were also looked after and clean. Shop was fab it stocked everything you needed for a weekend away and the staff in there were very friendly and helpful.
There is also a pizza delivery service which we used one night.
Noise always kept down at night we never found this a problem, we enjoyed ourselves that much we have booked again for aug BH!

Just back from 2 weekend at Top end farm. We were warmly welcomed at the shop and shown where to pitch, with many options to choose from where we wanting to go.
Clean well kept toilet and shower facilities.
All the areas clean and litter free, well drained and cut grass. We stayed on the 'adult' field, altho was plenty of noise from the other side of the hedge, not that we were bothered by this.
Would recommend anyone looking for a cheap pitch to try here. We were very pleased with the place.

Had a fab jubilee weekend at Top End Farm although it didn't stop raining. We received a warm welcome and shown everything we needed to know.
The site was far bigger than I expected, showers were lovely and clean, they also had loos situated all over the site which is great for the late night visits you may need to make.
The shop had everything you could ever want. Fish & Chip van was a real hit with us, it was a toss up with a BBQ or the van - the van won and that was rounded off by a visit by the ice cream van.
Kids playground was good.
My only moan is that there was no hot water to wash dishes. We will def be visiting here again. We made a visit to Woburn safari park on the Sunday which is only about half hour drive, really lovely day but again the rain didn't stop.

We have been to this site twice now, once at the time of the Royal Wedding and then this year during the Queen's Coronation, this stay was longer- a week. Both visits were very enjoyable.
Our caravan pitch was in the paddock, there are 2 fields, a very large 1 where there is a children's play area with play equipment and a smaller field- the paddock, which is almost entirely enclosed by a hedge, giving it a sense of privacy. Both fields are well kept.
There is a shop on site which sells everything from newspapers to everyday provisions and cigarettes and booze to pet food. Fresh duck eggs for sale provide a filling, delicious breakfast! There is even a small garden centre selling flowers, plants, garden furniture, etc.
I didn't use the shower block, but my hubby did and there were no complaints.
Owners are very friendly, available (on some sites they seem to be invisible)and approachable.
A chip van comes around on a Saturday, which is great if you want a break from cooking.
Bedford is not far away, about 25 minutes, an old town with lots of different shops, great for the shopaholic
A well worth the money site, at £15 a night.
We were disappointed recently as visiting our daughter to celebrate her hen night, we weren't able to get a pitch here, as there was a Caravan Club 50th birthday celebration taking place, so the site was chock-a-block, but no hesitation to recommend the site and will definitely return.

We have just returned from a 2 night camping trip over the Easter weekend and were so impressed with the site that we just had to write a review.
Although my husband and I have camped many times when we were younger this was our first camping trip as a family (with a 3 and 8 year old) and we were a bit worried about what to expect - we shouldn't have been!
On arrival we were told we could set up anywhere so we chose a spot that was close enough to the playground that we could see our boys - I think this alone made our weekend as we could set up camp and socialise with friends with the boys always in our sight.
The toilet, shower and washing up block was always clean when we visited although there was a problem with the hot water on one morning which meant I had a very cold shower! This was quickly remedied though.
As mentioned previously the shop is so well stocked that we didn't spend a lot of money eating out or on take aways.
Being part of Scouts - one of my biggest loves on a camping trip is having a camp fire so I was so pleased when we realised that camp fires were allowed as long as they are raised from the ground - the shop even sold kindling and logs!
The only down side I would say is that there isn't too much to do in the surrounding area, however this didn't bother us as we intended to stay on site as this was just a practice run for us before a longer trip in the summer.
All in all we had a fantastic time - so much so we are going to make it an annual trip with our friends!

Very friendly staff, excellent shop and quiet location. Was very quiet on the night we stayed, but we were made to feel very welcome from the word go.
The shop literally has everything!
My only minor gripe is that the shower rooms were very chilly and not particularly clean. The timers on the showers made it very difficult to wash my hair comfortably.
Washing up room bin was uncovered and very smelly.
Lovely flat site with plenty of room. Although we did not have children with us, the facilities seem excellent for them.

We camped at Top End Farm again, last weekend, and took our nine year old grandson.
The previous outing was really a test run before this one so we did almost exactly the same things that we did before.
The main differences were, we used an EHU which powered a small fire and a lamp, and the weather. Winds gusted to fifty miles per hour and in spite of this the tent behaved superbly. It was noisy and we were aware of some movement of the polycotton but everything held firm.
The site has one large field but both times we have chosen a smaller paddock area and we pitch our tent in a corner which is sheltered by a large hedge and the shower block.
Used in this way the site works well for us and is a relatively short distance from our home.
