Arrived after a long day walking, on first appearances nice place big shop didn't use as on DOE so had to be self sufficient. Set up our tents on very flat ground :).
Basic toilets
The site has a great skate ramp which we sat all night on.
However the site needs a noise policy as it was very loud

We went there for a 40th birthday, great site in that there is plenty of space, small playground visible from all tents, electric hook ups available but limited number.
The barn was hired and provided a great venue, and the on site shop which also doubles as the local village stores was excellent, the staff were friendly and ready to help.
The only criticism was the toilet block, gents one urinal and one toilet and ladies 2 toilets (I was told) were tiny and inadequate for the size of site and often flooded, the showers (2 were of poor quality and power shower heads dropped and little flow.
20 metres from the camp site entrance was robins reach an archery centre, we went there and had a fantastic time, no hurried lesson or limited arrows, Joe the owner instructor was great and would recommend this to anyone visiting the site.

The camping area is very nice although the facilities are basic.
What disappointed me most was that as a cycle camper with a small tent, I was required to pay the same amount as a family with a car and large tent. Had I have known this I would have cycled on to St Neots club site.
It would be nice if they introduce a backpacker or by person rate for lightweight solo campers.

Just returned from a long weekend at this site.
Whilst the facilities are somewhat basic (you get what you pay for) it was a wonderfully informal site, great for our 2 year old (plus dogs!).
Not far from Bedford (great Sainsburys :-) though the on site shop is fab (just didn't have wellies - and was a particularly wet weekend!)
Would definitely go back (ASAP). Only thing that let it down for me, was people who didn't pick up after their dogs - grrrrrr

Just been to this site, pitches good, shop very well stocked and friendly staff. Pitch prices not too bad but toilets very basic, showers even worse with no boards to stand on to dry off and no curtain to stop water going all over the floor. When the shower fills with water it does not drain very quick and they provide a mop to clean floor. Nice area good pub grub & walking

This was my first camping trip with my children, aged 3 and 4.
I wanted a local site with something for the children so they would enjoy it.
Overall I was very pleased. The site is vast with plenty of space if you want to be alone. The electrical hook-ups run along the top of the field and about half way down the left hand side.
When I arrived I checked in at the on-site shop. This is a fantastic little place with literally everything for sale. If you've forgotten something then this shop will have it. The prices aren't too bad either. Alcohol is also available.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was guided to the most suitable pitch and given a choice of several.
Whilst I was struggling with the tent, the children were playing on the swings and slides etc. I was able to keep a close eye on them as they weren't too far away. The play area is in the bottom left of the field so you can choose to be as close or as far away as you would like. It's not the latest state of the art play ground but more than enough to keep them occupied.
The one thing that lets the whole site down are the toilets and shower. Both need attention and were pretty much flooded. One shower is not enough for a site this size. It also needs 20ps.
I didn't venture off the site but I know people were visiting a nearby swimming pool and butterfly park and fish and chips are for sale on a Saturday evening on site.
I would be more than happy to return to this site, once the toilets and showers had been upgraded and / or cleaned.
Well worth a look though!

Fantastic camp site! Basic shower and toilet block, but fabulous field with tons of space for the children to run round. Lovely farm shop which caters for every need and brilliant play area which is sensibly situated at the other end of the site from the road/entrance.
Bargain of a price at £9 for pitch plus electric, would definitely go there again.

Windy site! But absolutely lovely. Extremely basic but that was exactly what we were after. Loads of space lots of privacy. Lovely kids playground. Shop and staff were fantastic and very friendly. Lovely peaceful weekend! Showers and toilets adequate for a weekend. Would definitely go back.

Spent the two hottest days of the year here so was always going to be a success. Th play area is big and busy and we didn't see the kids for the entire time so objective 1 was fulfilled.
However one major drawback are the toilets. They are old portaloos and quite dirty, I reckon cobwebs are a good sign of cleaning regularity and efficiency and there were plenty. There was only 1 urinal and 1 toilet for the men and 2 for women and I think there were at least 80 tents on Saturday night so you do the maths.
Showers were 20p and one of the two had been vandalised so I hope the owners realise that its worth raising their prices from £7 to £8 and then they - and we - wont have to bother with 20p coins.
So 6 out of 10 for the site which was pleasant enough but they have really go to start shelling out for better loos.

This site was found by luck and what luck! Lovely large field, flat with a good play area. Our group of 3 families, 3 tents (6 adults and 6 kids aged 2 - 5) was able to pitch side by side right near the play area. This allowed the kids the 'freedom' to go off and play by themselves which was very useful during set-up and put-down. Shop was fantastic - you name it they had it including a small amount of medicines which with kids was good to know. Toilets and showers were basic but water was hot and never a queue. Only thing the staff couldn't do was give us nice weather! The village pub where we had Sunday lunch was fabulous - putting on a full roast beef meal just for the 12 of us! (not currently doing sunday lunches). Will be back again in August for hopefully a weekend of better weather.
