Just returned from a bank holiday weekend it was very busy but the wardens had time to talk to everyone. The shower blocks were always clean and the village shop sold all you need. The site was very well maintained and there was a large area for the children to play. We Will be returning in the near future. On arrival we were welcomed by the warden and offered the choice of being near the play area or not, as our children are older we were happy to camp further away. Although the site was busy there was plenty of space for everyone to have room to play.

This is a curate's egg of a site. Good in parts, but the whole is spoiled by flaws.
The good:
*excellent shop
*EHU pitches not too expensive as they go, *facilities generally clean,
*flat and mown pitches.
*Limited number of fire pits for hire at £20 per night.
The not-so-good:
*The kids playground has seen better days, the skateboard ramp was a nest of splinters and the slide had a large muddy puddle at the bottom.
*My 25m EHU lead did not reach to the 4-gang point although the busy warden was able to lend me an extension.
*There were a large number of dogs around, not all of them well controlled. The same area that kids were playing in was used to walk the dogs - I saw owners did pick up after their animals, but there is still a hygiene issue here.
The bad:
I think it was Sartre who said that hell is other people.
*The site was rammed when I was there, and pitches were closer than 6 meters. The facilities struggled to cope, with long waits for showers and washing up sinks at peak times. When you got your turn at the washing up sink, usually there was no hot water left. I suspect the owners were being a bit greedy with the number of people they were trying to squeeze onto the site.
*I booked the pitch 3 months previous (me, Mrs R and 2 pre-schoolers). When I turned up I got a bit nervous when I saw the number of groups pitched on the site. Sure enough, the pitch we were put on was next to a large group of people spread over 4 pitches who proceeded to have a very noisy 48-hour party. Even if I like someone else's choice of music, I do not want to listen to it booming into my tent 20 hours a day, not when I am trying to get the kids to sleep and especially not after the noise curfew which was completely ignored. On night 2, although the volume of Little Staughton's own Pascha was lowered whenever they thought the warden might be listening, some thoughtful soul in a different large group decided to start their generator just before curfew.
We decided to cut our trip short, heading for home a day early to get some quality sleep. The site would be good if you just want to party but I would not recommend it for families with younger children.

We visited this site a week ago. Had a lovely weekend in sunny weather, great for a change. There were not many on site so very quiet. Shame they had to close the site for Easter. We hope to go back soon. Nice to see a warden on site perhaps it will stop people damaging the facilities?
The site is not too far from St neots if you cannot get what you need at the well stocked shop,
Also there are some nice walks from the site, we always seem to find the one down to the Crown pub for food & a few drinks, then round by the church to continue a round walk, about 4mls in all

The site description is quite comprehensive. The site people are helpful and pleasant and my stay was good. Toilet facilities were OK and playground was big. The shop has fresh stuff every day and is open 7 days a week. A bus runs from the site entrance 4 times a day into Bedford. The area is pleasantly rural. All good.
I am full timing and I just wanted to identify a couple of things that are missing from my point of view.
1. There are no laundry facilities. The nearest are not exactly conveniently located.
2. The wifi does not work. I need this for emails and booking and banking etc.
Both of these are important to me.
So, from my point of view, the site is good for a weekend or maybe even a week but not for longer.

I have used this site, 4 or 5 times a year for the last 5 years, for odd nights and long weekends and for start and end of seasons 'van testing' as the site is 30mins from my storage site!
If they did seasonal pitches I would have one like a shot.
Friendly staff, well stocked shop, good clean facilities and a well kept site.
Since the opening of the new toilet / shower block the place has gone from strength to strength.
If you're looking for Butlins nightlife, move on. But if you want a 'haven' of peace and quiet this is the spot - although a closer local pub would be a bonus!

Visited this site to try out my folding caravan for the first time. The campsite was very spacious and clean and had a nice little playground, although it was very cold and windy so not many children brave enough to be out.
The shop was well stocked. The showers and toilets were immaculate and regularly checked and cleaned, very impressive. Having never towed or used a caravan before I must have looked as though I needed help. The site warden offered assistance and gave me some handy tips and advice and helped me put up the awning. He also popped over as we were getting ready to leave to see iif we were ok. This was very much appreciated and I feel more confident about what I'm doing now.
It was £15 per night including electric hook up per pitch. We didn't go off site so can't comment on area. We will definitely be returning to this friendly well organised site.

Just back from a delightful night at this new discovery of ours. We took out montana 6 and extension and stayed non electric for 1 night.
We loved this site. There is masses of open spaces for children to run around and play. No marked out pitches for non electric so you could go pretty much where you wanted. There's a brilliant park which kept our 4 year old very amused and you can choose to camp right by it or a little further away. We pitched far enough away to see and supervise him but far enough to be out of the noise.
The site is well sheltered by trees, the grass is kept in fantastic condition, there are so many water taps around and the ground is totally flat.
The facilities block housed a wash up with freezer for your blocks, showers, toilets and elsan. The ladies had a plug socket for straighteners / hairdryer which was handy.
A chip van does generally visit on Saturday nights but there was a sign up saying it had let them down recently and not to rely on it. It indeed not turn up on our stay. Local; fast food places do however deliver to the area if you so desire, menus in a little information hut.
Excellent farm shop with a fantastic selection of goods.
We loved this site and at only 35 mins from home this will be a new favourite :) Only £12 a night for 2 adults 2 children too non electric. Bargain! This site is 20 mis from St Neots.

Me and my family used this site last week and thought it was such a great place that we wanted to share or thoughts. The grounds are well kept clean tidy and well manicured.
The toilets were clean and tidy but would struggle if site was full as there is a limited amount. The shop was well stocked and staff friendly, excellent value for money and are planning to go back again as the kids loved the park and the safety and freedom the site allows.
Its just a 6mile drive away from st neots and surrounded by beautiful country side, a must recommend.

This is our 2nd visit this year, this time we stayed over bank holiday weekend, with 3 other families. We asked if we could have pitches together which was granted and we were also allowed to put up a gazebo along with 4 tents.
We arrived on a Thursday and the site was quite quiet, kids loved that they could go to the park and skate ramp they spent a lot of time there. On Friday the site got very busy as we expected with it being bank holiday we were with tents and caravans all around the edges and some up the middle but you still didn't feel closed in because the field was so big.
Only problem we had being in a corner was that people at the side of us had a lot of cars so we spoke to the night maintenance staff who were also lovely and they made them move some cars to the carpark where we put ours out the way. Considering the site was full there was never lots of noise everyone was respectful.
The shop always has supplies of fresh pastries and fruit, we also brought fresh burgers and sausages from the shop for our BBQ and I would highly recommend these as they were lovely. And a plus from the kids was the ice cream van driving round the site each night !
My only moan this time was 3 showers just wasn't enough for the amount on site, but this won't stop us returning

Fantastic, fantastic fantastic! We love it here. Very relaxed site, great for family/group weekends away. We stayed for the bank holiday weekend (our group = 2 x tents 1 x caravan) and have been coming for most Bank Holidays over the past few years.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and the new wardens very welcoming, taking time to make sure the site was tidy and toilet/showers the cleanest we have ever seen them. The shop sells everything and has great opening hours.
We normally stay on site as there is plenty of room for the kids to play games, ride bikes and enjoy the freedom of the on site playground, but St Neots and Huntingdon are lovely market towns if you fancy a trip out.
Would definitely recommend this site for family groups and love the fact that you can pitch up how you choose. Even though the site is busy everytime we come, we never feel as if we are over looked. Keep up the good/hard work guys!
