Well, we have just spent a fabulous weekend relaxing at Top End Farm. The camping field is huge, very level, and well-drained (considering the amount of rain we have had recently). Pitches are round the outside of the field, and we pitched up near the Play Area. We had five children in our group of 2 tents, ranging in age from 4 to 12 years, and there was something for all of them. The skateboard ramp proved most popular with the older kids. Plenty of room on the field for ball games, and even a spot of kite-flying. The shop is well-stocked, and reasonably priced, with friendly staff willing to recommend places of interest/takeaways locally. Toilets were bit basic but adequate, could have done with a washing-up area. But at £6 a night or £8 with EHU it cannot be beaten.

Have just come back from a weekend at Top End. The owners seemed friendly and can't fault the site itself - lovely big, level & well-kept field - but we were very disappointed with the extremely basic facilities. Just two rather cramped ladies' loos and 2 unisex showers (one of which only produced freezing cold shower water) in a couple of small portacabins. We were very glad we weren't there on a particularly busy weekend! Also no washing up facilities which isn't useful when you're in a tent. Don't think there are any rules regarding noise, although it was generally peaceful by midnight both nights. No pubs within walking distance, so be prepared to drive if you want to go out for food. Kids play area seemed good although slightly dubious about the (noisy) skate ramp. With the great "get away from it all" location and excellent on-site shop, this place has the potential to be lovely. Such a shame about the facilities!

When we arrived it was very busy and we ended up in the middle of the large field but still had plenty of space, over the net few days everyone disappeared and we ended up as one of the few left to survive the 'great storm of 2007' Ha ha
Be warned the middle of the field gets very windy.
Great shop which seems to stock pretty much everything you can think of and more!
Great location and we visited knowsley safari park. (our reason for choosing this location)
Facilities in a portable cabin and were very tired but we were led to understand they they were to be replaced in the near future.
Supermarkets and shopping centres not too far
Good break had by all despite the weather!

We visited Top End Farm during the May Bank Holiday with friends, another motorhome and a caravan. We had a great weekend, apart from the weather, the rally field was huge and the facilities were good. The site owners were helpful and very friendly. The shop was well stocked and I was even able to buy a rubber and a pencil to use whilst trying to complete a Sudoku. There were plenty of places to walk and cycle and to enjoy the countryside. I can't wait to go again and to take the grandchildren.

Nice site. Huge field with loads of space for kids to play. Good park area and skateboard ramp was popular. Only two showers, but they looked fine: basic but clean. Only one Gents toilet which could prove a problem if you were staying in the school holidays. Didn't see it, but wife tells me there was a very well stocked shop. Field itself was flat, seemed well-drained and didn't suffer from an excess of stones. Only problem was music being played into the early hours and teenagers who decided to have a conversation near our tent at 3am!

A rainy Bank Holiday with friends on a family run camp site . I wished we'd have come here when our children were small. Lovely open space for them with a play area. Toilet facilities were clean but not enough, but the owners know this. Well stocked shop selling local produce. Best for us was the walking through beautiful countryside on well sign posted paths. Roads quiet enough to bike on as well. There were some hook ups but we didn't need them which meant we could park well away from the road.

We have just returned from a weekend at this quiet and peaceful site. Nice, friendly site owners, large, very well-stocked shop. The play area is vast, great in summertime I would think! Only criticism is once again the basic, but very clean and fresh toilets and showers. I think when the site is full there must be quite a queue for the 2 unisex showers! However, we had a wonderful time and will be returning very soon!

I we agree with the last couple of statements about Top End Farm. It is a very calm and peaceful location. The field is vast, the kids loved the play area (ages between 7-12) especially the skate ramp, don't forget your skateboard. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and the camp shop had everything you could think of. The only couple of negative points about Top End Farm are:- very basic facilities 2 ladies toilet and one ladies shower and there wasn't any where to wash up, although we were told they are putting in a new block soon. However we still had a great time and at £8.00 per with electric hook up, you cant really complain can you?

We visited this campsite on our very first camping experience. Our party consists of 2 adults and a 3 year old and we had a wonderful time. We were greeted by very friendly staff who gave us loads of information and advice for our stay which was very helpful. The on site shop is stocked full of anything you could possibly need.Nice quiet camp and very spacious. Good kids play area, clean toilets and shower. We will visit again.

Lovely site, quiet and spacious. Facilities are basic but clean, but only one shower. On site shop is excellent with everything you could need. Very friendly and helpful people running the site. Electric hook ups available (limited amount), but excellent children's playground, including a skate ramp.
