Lovely Adult only camp site, set along the side of the river brue you can also fish this river but there is a cost to do so. The site is close enough to the village to walk to but far away enough to be tranquil.
The village has a little shop selling the basic stuff. It took me and my husband and the pooch about 10 min to walk to. There is also 2 pubs in the village. The access to 1 pub can be via the river bank foot path if you like the scenic route if not you can walk down the main road.
The site has large hard standing pitches some grass pitches too with elec hookups there is grass inbetween each pitch. The bathrooms were immaculate, with spacious shower cubicles. (please note there is a charge of 20p for 2 min to use the showers)
There is a recycle area for your rubbish as well.
There is a asda in highbridge about 20 min or so in the car to get your food shopping if you don't want to travel to far. R.
The owners are so friendly and helpful, the warderns Frank and Barbara are 1st class if you have a problem there always there to lend a helping hand.
We love it so much there we have a seasonal pitch.
Dogs are welcome and must be on a lead with in the park ground but there is an exercise area for the dog to have a run off the lead. There is also 2 dog waste bins within the dog exercise area.

Spent 8 nights at this peaceful adults only site. Very well maintained with plenty of trees and shrubs around. Received a warm welcome on arrival from wardens and shown to pitch. Pitches are large and mostly all are hard standing. Although no washing up facilities, I didn't find it a problem. Good recycling facilities. Toilets and showers are kept spotless. I would recommend 40p for a shower as got caught out thinking 2 mins for 20p would be fine! Cubicles could do with a PVC stool or fold down ledge as no where to put things. If you have friends/family who don't have their own unit, they can hire the newly converted barn for £800 per week, sleeps 6 and is converted to a high standard.
Buses - Somerset council have not updated the websites for timetables and found the services have recently changed or stopped so spent a bit of time inconveniently waiting around. A visit to Weston super Mare took 2 buses each way and cost me £13. 50, not cheap.
There are 2 pubs within walking distance along the river or along New Road. Basin Bridge Inn cooked food to order, very good and The Crown Inn, lovely food with specials board and we thought the better of the two.
Would recommend this site and will is it again.

Have just spent a lovely, relaxing, 2 weeks at this site. It was easy to find using the directions given on the website. We were met by owner Tim who gave us a warm welcome and Frank, the site warden, took us to our pitch. All pitches are hard standing, level and are a good size.
The facilities were kept clean and tidy. The showers are on a meter, which are located outside of the cubicle, this did not prove to be a problem. Situated beside the river, this is a very quiet site, everybody was very friendly. We can recommend the Crossways Inn in West Huntspill for both food and drink. We will definitely be returning to this site in the future.

This really is a gem of a site, from the moment you enter you just know it's going to be one of those places you will want to come back to. The site is immaculate as are the facilities, the wardens Frank and Babs were the perfect hosts full of local knowledge ranging from best dog friendly pubs to best walks.
This site is in a great location for exploring and the pitches are huge and all hard standing.
The site does have quite a few permanent pitches but we found this a bonus as the residents were so friendly and entertaining. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby so no need for an on sight shop, there is a great little pub just a short walk from the site along the river.
We will definitely be making another visit and would highly recommend this site.

Pleasant quiet adult site, Wardens friendly. Owner Tim was helpful as we had just picked up our motorhome from West Country motorhomes, I had taken the bare minimum for the weekend & forgot the most important pieces of equipment (wine glasses). Tim came to the rescue. On the negative side toilet & shower block not so good, shower cubicle a little small, nothing to sit on or stand on in the ladies, there were duck boards to stand on in the gents. No washing up facilities. You can walk along river bank across field to village pub (can not comment on food as we never ate there), this walk took ten minutes.

We have stayed at this site twice, both times we turned up after sunset because we had been to Ham Wall first to watch the starlings. Tim, the owner, was unfailingly pleasant and welcoming, even when we disturbed his Rugby World Cup! The facilities are fine, although there are no washing up facilities. We had a great trip to Burnham on Sea, a must see seaside town. Cheddar Gorge also nearby. We will stay at this site again, very good value for money.

We stayed at Phippins Farm the whole of August and enjoyed it – weather notwithstanding. On arrival we were not too happy about the rough gravel of the hardstanding, but we became very grateful for it after days of solid rain. The pitches were immaculate, the shower block was spotlessly clean. For the shower you have to pay – the price is reasonable (20p for 2 minutes), but the meters are outside the cubicles, the water starts the moment you put the money in and it needs a while to warm up.
The campsite itself was very peaceful (you can hear the motorway on occasion – depending on the wind), functional but for us not heartwarming in as far as we would not spend days put on the campsite and not browsing around. There is an adjacent rather large dog field for exercise.
The wardens were as good as gold – very friendly, extremely helpful and always available when you needed them. Looking back on 35 years of caravanning experience they most probably are the best wardens we ever came across.

Had a 2 week stay at Phippins Farm in August and what a super little site, the owner Tim and the wardens Frank and Barbara couldn't do enough for us. The site is spotless and tranquil, all the seasonal pitch residents were friendly and very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for days out.
As people have previously posted yes you can hear the distant hum of the motorway but this was no issue to us and to be honest if I hadn't had read it on a review we wouldn't have even noticed it. Yes you do have to pay for the showers, but its a small cost when you take into consideration how clean they are and the low nightly tariffs.
Its a short walk to the local and a short drive to plenty of eating houses.
We enjoyed our first stay in Somerset, plenty to do and see, in fact we liked it that much we re-booked for next year!

This is a real gem of a site. Very peaceful, large pitches and riverside location. Very friendly and helpful wardens welcomed us, showed us to the pitch and directed us to where the facilities and dog walk were. Quite a number of the pitches were seasonal but everyone was really friendly, not at all cliquey like some sites can be.
The pitches are immaculate, the location is great just off the M5 and a much better option for us when visiting the local towns than some other sites we saw while there.
Toilet facilities are getting tired but are very clean; we didn't like the fact you have to pay for showers and the pay meters being outside the cubicles means walking across the room wrapped in a towel. Fortunately we used the shower in our caravan so it didn't affect us.
You can hear the motorway on occasion, depending on wind direction, but it was never intrusive. There is a supermarket about 2-3 miles away and the coast is not far either. Good for an overnight stop, even better for a longer stay.
Overall a lovely site and one of the best we've visited over the last ten years.
