Just returned from a 7 day stay and it was no where near long enough! What a little gem of a site. Easy to find, nice entrance with concrete driveway and barrier entry.
Tim the owner is very friendly indeed. We had a hardstanding pitch which was ample in size. Lovely field to run dogs off lead, all fenced in. So peaceful as adult only.
Very clean toilets and shower block. River runs through site, lovely fishing at only £1. 50 per day. Bason Bridge pub just along the river is great, dog friendly and lovely food.
Really nice area to visit, Cheddar Gorge and Caves is a must. Burnham on Sea nice seaside town and miles of lovely sandy beach. Asda 5 min drive away in Highbridge. Cant wait to go back. Thanks Tim.

Site owner is very friendly and helpful. Site is flat with hardstanding pitches and is close to the river and is really peaceful.
All we could hear were the birds in the trees. Toilet and shower block look new and are spotless.Showers cost 20p and last for 2 mins.
Recycling area for all waste. There is a large wooden building where you can borrow books and magazines. Lots of taps dotted around site for filling your drinking water containers.
You can walk along the river to the local pub and takes just 10 mins.
If you have a dog there's an adjoining field where you can let them off for a good run around.
If you want a clean, flat, quiet, relaxing site with good facilities then this is the place for you.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Easter period. Site was easy to find and not far from J22 of the motorway after travelling through Highbridge.
The site owner had created approx 10 new gravelled hardstandings over the winter and we were lucky to get one of these. The remainder of the pitches were grass and I believe the majority had EHU.
There was a washblock for each sex - the ladies had 3 showers and 6 toilets and I presume the men's had the same. Showers cost 20p for 2 mins and you had to put your money in and then jump in the shower pretty quick as it started immediately. My only gripe was that on taking an evening shower the lights went out (they operated on a sensor) and I had to finish my shower in pitch black. Luckily I had taken a torch - hopefully this was a one off although I didn't use them again during our stay!
There was plenty of room to exercise our dogs in the surrounding fields (off the lead) and I believe you could walk along the river bank into the village to the pub.
This is an adult only site in a quiet rural location and at £9.50 a night inc EHU is excellent value for money and we would return.

This is the first time we have used this site only stopped for one night. Arrived at 4pm, after booking in, we were directed to hard standings. It looks like a lot of work has been going on, a nice new driveway concrete, the hard stands were nice and level. The surrounding areas will look rather nice when the grass grows.
The facilities were well presented and clean the showers as described in one of the other reviews were also very clean and use 20pence pieces per 2 minutes. Did not have to leave to early the next morning which is an advantage. We will certainly use again when in the area

Stayed for 3 nights in this lovely and tranquil campsite. The site is adult only, although there are a few permanent pitches, which may have the odd child staying now and then, but this was not a problem.
We decided to pitch next to the river at the far end of the site and we were rewarded with seeing kingfishers, woodpeckers, the resident owl and other wildlife.
If you follow the river towards East Huntspill and turn left, there is a nice pub serving good grub.
Toilet facilities were new but a bit awkward trying to have a strip wash rather than a shower as no privacy from the toilets. The showers were metered, these were also a littly tricky to master as the shower started as soon as the money was inserted and therefore you needed to undress, put your money in and then run back to the shower.
If we were to return to the area, we would definitely stay again!

This is a great site which now has a new toilet and shower block, showers 20p for 2 mins. The pitches are unmarked and is not overcrowded, it is all grass which it kept immaculately. We spend our retirement by touring UK, and Europe and this is amongst the best. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the site being set well back off a quiet country road is very peaceful, yet it is very close to Junction 22 of the M5, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. At £8.50 plus 50p for an awning it is certainly great value.

This is my third visit to this tranquil little site. The toilet blocks have just been upgraded to include a shower block (20p for 2 mins)and disabled access. Although there's nothing to do on the site other than a bit of fishing or taking the dog for a walk there's plenty of places nearby to visit. We have booked in again for July and the end of August ! As someone said there's a very nice pub within a 15 min walk that's very cheap and open all day!
We will take a closer look at the other nearby sites on our next visit because this area is fantastic.

This site is what it says,a hideaway. Not too far from the village a short walk along a public footpath takes you to a pub. The whole area is fairly flat good for cycling. The site is back from the road very peaceful. The river runs along the site and is good to fish (coarse) The site offers a toilet block which was very clean. There is a recycle area and elsan point. Plenty of elec hookup points and water. Set in an orchard fairly flat well kept grass. Being a 64 pitch site about 20 tourers the rest are seasonal pitches. Very pleasant owners on site, a perfect getaway. For the fisher folk there is a tackle shop in Highbridge 2.5 miles.

Following a 5 hour trip that should have only taken 90mins. We travelled through the worst rain that this part of the country has seen in decades and we listened to reports of flooding and land slips on the roads ahead.
Access to the site is good down an unmade but well maintained track. The site was understandably squidgy but I think any site would have been. This did not spoil our enjoyment. As already mentioned the owners now have planning for more caravans but we counted only 9 units on the the first weekend of school holidays.
Electric was a 16amp feed allowing water heater, kettle and blown air heating at the same time.Grey water was fed to a near by hedge (take your long hose) We were only here for a weekend but we will most definitely be back for longer. This is one of the few gems that have not been discovered yet.

It is the owners that make this place special.I sat for at least an hour with them in the their shed and chatted, listening to their stories. It was an unexpected pleasure. The site is no longer a 5 van CL, although there were only 6 or 7 vans when we visited It's a tranquil place, with a small river, the Brue, situated alongside which is popular with fishermen. It is a good stop over along the M5, but it's situation and the family make it so much more.
