A good quiet site, not far from m5, and with lots to do and see.

The only problem is, that out of seven nights stay, we only had electricity for 5 of them, due to the main distribution box always tripping out and leaving half of the site without power,

This wasn't anything the campers could do anything about, it was a locked box in the next field.

I told the warden about this but it just kept happening all the time.

I don't think I will return again any time soon.
Management response: Thank you for visiting us and for your commens.

Six EHU's (out of ninety) were affected by a power interruption during the Easter Bank Holiday between 3am and 6:30am - generally. The reason for this is unknown but nevertheless we, as a matter of course, have changed the mains and individual circuit breakers in the effected area and despite busy bank holiday weekends since have not had a re-occurrence of power breaks.

This was our first visit to this site. After a very warm welcome we went to our very spacious pitch (on my request) at the river. We do have a very small caravan so there was a lot of space around. The site is peaceful and we loved the apple trees. Showers and toilets were always spotless which we appreciated very much. Site fee was only 15 pound including electricity, which is almost half of the price we used to pay. ! The showers are extremely nice. I put a pound in the box outside the shower so there was plenty of time for washing my hair. In fact there was to much time. I think 60 pence is enough for having a nice shower. Which means Phippins Farm is a cheap campsite comparing other campsites. This in combination with the super pitches on this well maintained site with good and clean sanitary facilities, makes that we certainly come back! There are two pubs with food in the village in walking distance (one along a riverbanks walk) and there is one pub with very good food a few miles away. We loved the site and the area. The lovely beach of Burnham on sea is nearby. The area is flat, which is easy for cycling around what we did. And last but not least, the wardens Barbra and Frank were as friendly and helpful as we never saw before! This site is a gem! Compliments to Tim for the perfect wardens on his campsite!

One of my top ten campsites. It is so peaceful and set amongst the apple, pear and plum trees. Spotlessly clean and friendly.

Tim the owner is so helpful as are his stewards. Nothing is too much trouble.

Shower block is cleaned daily and up to date. Well looked after.

I recommend you give it a visit. When we are there we do not want to go home!

This was our second visit to Phippins Farm. It has expanded a bit since our last visit and now boasts a separate entrance for new arrivals with a reception office.

The wardens are very pleasant and helpful and the site itself is quiet and peaceful.

The pitches are level and nearly all hardstandings. Drinking water points are dotted around the site but grey water disposal points are not, we were told to empty this around the trees or on the river bank - this, of course, presented no real problems except that one caravanner near to us was just letting his run straight from van to ground which, I suspect others have done. I say this because we faced our caravan nose inwards to take advantage of the grass for our awning but this resulted in the distinct smell of sink waste inside all the time we were there!

The showers are adequate, in what appears to be a converted farm building, these were kept nice and clean, even down to the absence of spiders and their webs, which was nice!

Showers cost 20p for 2 minutes (I required 60p each time) which is very reasonable considering the site fee is only £15/night though having the meters outside of the cubicles could present a bit of a problem if one failed to insert enough before entering. If however, you want a simple wash and brush up, the basins are in a row with no privacy and nowhere to put toiletries.

With everything taken into account, this is a basic, good value, adult only site.

Went to burnham on sea on 3/5/2014 just for a drive in the Vito I've put a kitchen unit in it not really finished, yet got to burnham and decided to say the night and ended up on this site. Just like to say that it was great, nice and quiet, no kids. Everybody was friendly. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. A walk to the pub along the river was nice. Shower block was very clean and for the person who said about paying 20p for the showers come on man 20p, it cost us £13. 00 for the night, everywhere else was 20 plus so to spend 20p was worth it. Ok it cost me 60p but I didn't mind that. Nice to see the squirrels running around the place and the ducks. Really really enjoyed it. Thanks, will be seeing you again soon

Well what can I say, this really is a gem of a site as has been said before in other reviews. We stayed here a few years ago on the way down to Cornwall so decided to use again this time. What a transformation, it now has hard standings for touring caravans and motorhomes along with a large amount of seasonal pitches mixed between hard standing and Grass. There is a new field opened since out last visit too, it has all seasonal pitches on it though.

It is really hard to find fault with this site apart from the showers as pointed out before, I did talk to a few of the parties around me and that was a topic of conversation amongst all. The shower block itself is kept immaculate to be fair.

The wardens were excellent and helped in any way they could too. If there were a few more facilities then we would use this site on a regular basis, there is a need for a launderette on site and possibly a small shop would be a big asset for basics like milk bread, papers etc. I am sure most on the site would use it instead of a car ride of a few miles just to pick up bits and bobs, There is an ASDA close by but but not sure if its 24/7. If you do need anything for your caravan or motorhome then Highbridge caravans is a short drive away, they stock everything you need and its huge, you could spend a morning there just looking around.

We got talking to some of the seasonal owners there also and they all love the place also and can see why to be honest. Check it out, you wont be disappointed. Only wish we could bring our grand children here as it would be perfect for them but it is adults only!. I can see why but we would use this far more if we could have them with us.

Have just spent the Bank Holiday weekend at Phippins Farm, it is as good as the reviews say. We were in the back field on a grass pitch it was a bit uneven but this was no problem. Walked down to the pub on Saturday night (about 10 mins) which was very quiet the meal was fine and dogs are allowed. There is a field on site to walk the dog or a public footpath the other way. The wardens are very friendly and show you to your pitch and then checked the next day to see if everything was o. K. There is a wildlife rescue centre just up the road well worth a visit but only open certain weekends. Didn't use the showers but the block is kept very clean.

First time visit to this site very nice site wardens very helpful good location 5 min. From m5 showers 20p 2 min. But you need 60/80p to get good shower and wash hair. Far end of site near river is a public right of way through the site so kids and anyone else can and do come walking by your pitch so you can't say adult only site when kids can come past anytime. T/block very clean. Shops all within easy reach morrisons/asda. Ect. Lots of places to visit within hours drive. Plenty car boots if you like to try for that odd bargain. N/trust places near by or take trip back in time on the steam railway.

We have stayed at Phippins farm before and returned again because it is a peaceful, well-run site that is easy on the pocket, yet provides high quality hardstanding pitches that can accommodate any size of caravan and awning - including the wardens' own mammoth American RV wagon!

Being just ten minutes from the M5, it provides both a handy base for exploring North Somerset and a useful overnighting stop on a long journey down to Cornwall.

The 20p shower fee remains the only gripe. In addition, the Saturday night we stayed the peace was disturbed by a rock concert going on until the early hours in a field a mile or so away. Granted, not the fault of Phippins Farm, who hopefully will have had a word in the ear of the local council licensing officer to ensure it doesn't go on quite so late in future.

What a lovely site which we decided to use to stop over for a few days before and after visiting Cornwall and even though the weather was not kind to us we were delighted to have found this little gem.

This is an Adults Only site and more by luck than judgement we had chosen a hard standing which was enormous by most standards.

The access to the site is easy and there is a number pad entrance barrier.

The shower and toilet facilities were kept clean and tidy our only criticism being the fact that you had to put your 20 pences (you will need more than one for a good shower) in a machine outside the shower in the main toilet area. The shower starts immediately and then you have to run back to your cubicle get undressed and into the shower which obviously uses up valuable 'washing time'. The moral of this story is go to the shower block with as few clothes on as possible to reduce the 'undressing' time!

However we had a very pleasant stay, the resident wardens were kindness itself and we would certainly use again if we find ourselves in this vicinity in the future.
