This is a very good site owners are very friendly
And helpful and being a adult only site made my holiday, best holiday I have had for a long time.
Facilities are very good and clean, the wardens were friendly and helpful, I will visit the site again and will recommend it to all my caravanning friends.
The site stays open till November which is very good, and is very good value for money,
There just one thing that I think should be changed and that is the length of time you have to have a shower 1 Min isnt enough.

We have returned home today after spending 5 days at this lovely little campsite. When I read the reviews that praised the site I thought they sounded to good to be true, but they were exactly spot on.
The on duty wardens welcome each visitor personally and explain about the site, which is very secure with a security barrier across the entrance. Then they leave you alone to just 'chill out' but are about on hand in case you need them.
Its so peaceful and being adults only there are no footballs being kicked against your caravans by energetic youngsters. The shower and toilet block are kept spotless with the wardens still cleaning at 10pm. Two 20p coins give you plenty of time for a good shower.
Theres a lovely field to let dogs exercise in and nice walks along the side of the river.
A short drive away is Highbridge where there is an Asda store, or a little further to Burnham on Sea where there is a Morrisons supermarket.
All in all this is a smashing little site and judging from speaking to fellow campers the word is spreading about it as many come back time and time again or even go seasonal. We will definitely go back as soon as possible.

What a cracking little site! It certainly does what it says on the tin and you cant ask for much more than that!
Spent a week on this site with my partner in May and came away feeling totally relaxed - its a pity that it isn't a bit nearer to us - we would certainly spend more time there.
The site is very clean with the majority of caravans on the site being seasonal pitches. All touring pitches are hard standing and the pitches are massive (I could fit a 24' caravan, a full awning and 4x4 on it) although there is little vegetation to screen you from your neighbour, the truth is that with so few touring caravans it isn't a problem.
The toilet and shower block are clean and functional but as mentioned in other reviews, do not leave it too late to go for a shower due to the lights being on a sensor.
There are plenty of supermarkets and takeaways approx 5 mins drive from site, so all tastes are catered for.
The riverside walk to the local pub could do with a strimmer running along it as the nettles certainly prevented my partner from wearing her shorts or skirts whilst using it.
The site still has work in progress (but not intrusive) and it can only get better but if you want to get away from it all and relax in peace and quiet, I would certainly recommend this site.

This site is very clean, very quiet and ideal for those who prefer to enjoy the North Somerset coastal resorts without being on a campsite full of noisy children. It is also five minutes drive from large supermarkets at Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and the tariffs are clear and very reasonable. As such, it is an ideal base for exploring the area.
As others have written, our only gripe is the charging of 20p for a shower (and a very short two-minute shower at that) - especially as you often waste much of your money adjusting the temperature settings. Such a policy also penalises people with older caravans that do not have hot water because if you have a newer van with integral water heating then you can use the site's electricity instead to heat it up, staying under your shower as long as you want at no extra expense.
In addition, the site could benefit from a washing-up station for dishes and cutlery.

We have just stayed at Phippins for the bank holiday weekend.
Weather was not to good but that's the UK for you.
I must say this is our second stay at Phippins and what an improvement since our first time. There has been a lot of work done on this site including hard standings and extra pitches.
If you are in the Burnham on sea area and are looking for a peaceful, relaxed and friendly adults only site then you must check this one out.
The owners are really friendly and this week warden's have started there who are most helpful also.
There are a lot of seasonal pitches on the site also and from what we were informed the site fees are very reasonable compared with other sites in the area. Well worth a visit if you are thinking of going seasonal.
My only gripe are the showers and the 20pence slots needed to have a shower but others on the reviews have covered this.
A site shop and launderette would be good. If it had these then we would stay on longer visits other than just weekends and bank holidays.
All in all a great site and I would recommend it no problem.
Would go seasonal no problem if children were allowed.

What a cracking site with very good facilities near to large asda supermarket. ((2miles)) a short walk to the pub with good food and friendly staff. Good size pitches very clean and tidy showers and toilets. All-round the site is kept well and thank you to the owner for all his help getting my car going. We will definitely stay here again.

What a great site. If you want it relaxed and peaceful, no children as adults only within easy distance of Brean and Burnham then this is the perfect site.
The facilities are OK but could be inproved, The showers are good but take plenty of 20 pence coins with you as they are needed for the showers. A Bit of a pain to use as they are outside the shower room so you have to put your money in, run back in close the door and strip off, A nightmare if you are in there and your run out of minutes/time. It could also do with a laundry room and prep area, if it has these then I would stay full time no problem.
The sight has expanded since out last visit and a new field with all hard standings has been completed. On talking with some of the other caravaners there these are for seasonal pitches only and not touring. There seems to be a lot os seasonal caravans there that are empty but aye its still March and we are just enjoying the mild weather. Looking at the location we are thinking of going seasonal here we like it that much.
There are a couple of pubs within a short walk, good food as well and there is fishing on site.
All in all a great site and well recommended. Give it a try you wont be dissapointed.

Absolutely loved this site. Totally chilled place, nice and cosy but plenty of space between units. Mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches, so good choice. Great location with a river running through (fishing possible), and a great dog-walking field.
Shower/toilet quite basic, but clean - probably a bit chilly in winter. Make sure you have plenty of 20p pieces for your showers - 40p will do a decent shower tho!
Nice to find a recycling point (separate boxes/crates for each type, i. E. Cans, paper etc).
Great local pub down the road - the Crossways Inn - good food at good prices, excellent beer!
Would definitely go back and also recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, cosy place.

We spent 2 weeks here. Not much to do except relax!
The owners were very friendly, we chose our own pitch (hardstanding- as we've had too many soggy pitches in the past) plenty of room to chill out.
Although only 3 showers, I never even shared the shower block with anyone else. It was all very clean with plenty of hot water. I would recommend 40p showers as 20p not very long, but at £11/night showers very reasonable.
Dog friendly site, with excellent dog field next door & good walks by the river that runs through the site.
Rather a lot of caravans but most were not being used.
Would definitely go back again!

Lovely site - I echo all the previous comments!
They have a fair few seasonal pitches so although it looked a bit full on arrival, there were fewer people than we expected. We were allowed to choose our own pitch.
We went for a hardstanding one as they're perfectly level. Some of the grass ones are a bit undulating. They're planning to develop an additional field and I believe the idea is to separate off the seasonals into their own area.
Yes the showers are 20p per 2 mins but that means you simply pay for what water you use and they're good showers. You can preload with 40p/60p if you wish. The site fees are so low that this charge is perfectly reasonable. I agree about the lighting - it's sensor operated on a timer and you don't seem to trigger the sensor when in the shower.
There is a large caravan centre in Highbridge.
Places to visit - Burnham (but not a great swimming beach as it is on the river estuary rather than being 'on Sea' and at low tide there is dangerous mud that you can get stuck in. Clevedon pier is worth going to - lovely tea room right out at the end. Cheddar, of course, is expensive.
There is a gem of a visit there though that you could miss - the Cheddar Cheese Co. Tickets are a couple of quid and last all day. You can pop in and out and watch someone making cheese from start to finish. There's a video running constantly so you can see the whole thing summarised, informative wall displays, helpful staff and tasting in the shop!
