Occasionally you meet life's pleasant human beings and Bernard is certainly one of these. I was the last of the season and had the whole place to myself, that said, after very heavy rain, Bernard advised I park on the track as he was concerned I might get stuck. Even though the site is just off the road, it is very quiet at night. I only stayed one night.
The site is basic, a field, some rather shabby toilet/showers and two washing up sinks. I tried the shower in the evening and got no hot water but didn't try in the morning. The price is reflected in the basics of the site, but Bernard himself is worth another tenner, at least!
You are perfectly located for the Lost Garden's of Heligan, Mevagissey and some good take-aways.

We stayed at The Meadows for three nights. It was exactly what we were looking for a simple camping site. Showers are free and the water is hot what more could you ask for.
The extra is that Bernard the site's owner is very pleasant and welcoming. He took time to ask what we were interested in doing during our stay. He gave directions to a lovely quiet beach.
The sort of place that we wouldn't have found ourselves. His personal touch was what made our stay so enjoyable.
It did rain heavily on our last day and the ground was getting a bit squelchy so best to ask for slightly higher pitch if you are worried. Also it is next to a busy road so if you are a light sleeper this might be a problem.
Fantastic location for Lost Garden's of Helagon and Eden Project. Mevagissey is also a lovely little seaside village ( about 3 miles away). Great food at The Fountain Inn in Mevagissey.

Had a great time on this site, the owner was really nice and made me laugh. We got a lovely spot under a tree which sheltered us from a lot of the really bad weather. The field was pretty boggy and the tent next to us, their car got stuck in it which was funny. It was proper camping though as camping is supposed to be, what's the point in going camping if you want the luxuries, price was brilliant as well :) Area was beautiful :)

We booked 4 days with Bernard to stay at The Meadows Campsite. It was easy to find with directions from his website. The time of year was quiet and very peaceful. When we turned up we got a very nice welcome from Bernard himself. We totally enjoyed ourselves and Bernard was always there when we needed something especially tent pegs! We only have 1 downside of The Meadows which was the busy road especially during the night! But if you ask you can pitch up on the other side of the field away from the road. Toilet and shower facilities were clean and adequate for this type of campsite. The site is very close to shops and a couple of pubs and not far away from the beach. The campsite was surrounded by beautiful scenery and we were really lucky with the weather. We had a great time and will definitely be going again next year!

The Meadows has all you need for a lovely camping experience. It is a large field with beautiful views of rolling hills, with a lovely stream under the trees on the right. Unfortunately the weather was awful and we had set up camp in the middle of the field and woke up in a puddle! But Bernard (lovely man!) said we were more than welcome to move to the edges where it was less boggy so we ended up under the trees. Toilet block is more than adequate with wetrooms (shower, toilet and sink) as well as individual toilets. Bernard is very welcoming and friendly, and along with the stunning views helped to make our week enjoyable. Mevagissey is a short drive away and highly recommended (crab fishing with bacon off the harbour wall is a must!) Pentewan equally beautiful with a lovely woodland walk, and Caerhays is a lovely beach for when the sun decides to shine! All in all a very enjoyable week excellent value and hope to return in the future.

This campsite is very good. The new shower block is excellent and the owner is very welcoming and helpful. As it says on the web it is close to all the tourist attractions and the owner told us some other interesting places to visit. It is a quiet pleasant site and we will definitely go again.

A basic site of one large flat field with the owners house at the entrance, half of the area has EHU round the perimeter, the far end has been allowed to grow long as some people apparently like it?. There is a small stream running down the right hand edge below trees. The left side gets the evening sun in the later months. Facilities consist of a modernised block with toilets & showers with hot water. One thing, the middle of the field got a bit boggy after a good downpour but every where else seemed OK,the owner Bernard is a really nice bloke & when asked about buses into Mevegissey so we could have a few pints without the car, he took us in his car. For any camping supplies there is a large outlet 2 minutes down the road. Also one of the camps towards St Austell does a carvery in the evening in a large club/pub ,which is one of the best I have had. If you dont want everything on site but peace & some of the lowest prices anywhere give it a try.
