I would like to say what a lovely stay we had at The Meadows. We were a little unsure due to the current situation with Covid, but Mike and Donna had everything clearly marked out and guests safety was paramount.
There was adequate space between the relevant showers and toilets which were open and regular cleaning was carried out. The campsite is small, but nicely laid out and Mike has lots of plans for the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Mike even made sure we had running water on our pitch before arrival, which made it so much easier to use most of the facilities in our unit to avoid any risk of infection to other guests or ourselves.
We did the scenic walk from site to Mevagissey and also the walk along the river, through the woods and into the village of Pentewan.
The route has running streams, so was lovely for the dogs to cool off from the daily sun. A lovely place to go for a good dog walk is Cardinham Woods. Lots of walking/cycle routes and again plenty of streams for the dogs to enjoy.
The tearoom there makes the best scones we have ever tasted.
Loved The Meadows so much, we are already planning our return visit.

We had a really friendly welcome from Donna to this wonderful, friendly site. Great washrooms and wash up facilities and the bar, social area and visiting food vans all make for a brilliant holiday. Great recycling facilities and properly nature friendly with lovely meadows dividing the camping bays.
The cycle paths from the site mean that you can have lovely walks through woods to The Lost Garden at Heligan or along the river.
The road running alongside the site was busy night and day but this didn't seem to bother the very happy campers enjoying themselves at the Meadows.

This was our second stay at the meadows and it was fantastic!
The site is very clean and the pitches are flat and well defined, with plenty of space.
Lots of lovely walks in the area, not far from st Austell for shopping and a wonderful welcoming site!

Spent a blissfully peaceful night at this campsite just 2-3 miles North of Mevagissey - and right by the cycle and pedestrian track (an old railway line) that takes you all the way to Mevagissey.
Such a friendly couple. Very good washing facilities. And very peaceful in the 'meadows' section slightly away from the hook-up sites.

We had a great 6 night break here. It was totally relaxing and we were blessed with fabulously warm bank holiday weather. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly, the site is well kept and the facilities were excellent for the price. It represented a very good value holiday for us. It was wonderful being surrounded by birdsong when we woke up each morning.
We enjoyed walking up to Heligan, with a day out at the Lost Gardens, then on to Mevagissey to catch the bus back to the site. It was also easy to walk along the riverside cycle track to Pentewan sands nearby, something we did several times. We went to St. Austell to do some shopping and found the town centre a bit strange in layout, but still managed to get some delicious butcher's sausage, egg and bacon to bring back, and there's a great fresh veg stall. We visited the tiny museum there, which was very sweet. We enjoyed a day trip to Fowey with the ferry back to Mevagissey afterwards being a great way to end the day.
The site was one we'd definitely return to. There were lots of dog owners staying (and we are not animal lovers) but all were really well behaved dogs and the owners were very respectful. This is advertised as a quiet site, and it really was just that for us. Very peaceful and a totally refreshing, slow-paced holiday. Just what was needed.

I read many reviews before booking a week on this site. It was exactly as expected. Although next to a busy road the noise did not bother us. We camped on the river side of the site so had the benefit of early morning sun. The owners are welcoming and very helpful, answering questions and giving advice on places to go and dog friendly beaches. The site is very well maintained even after all the rain. The showers and toilets are kept immaculately clean, always stocked with hand wash, hand towels and loo roll. A freezer is available for visitors to use.
The site provides a hook up if required and also camping in the more natural environment surrounded by wild flowers. If a hook up is required you are allocated a pitch and parking space for the car. My only slightly negative comment would be that the pitches are quite close together so you can hear conversations next door.
The pop up cocktail caravan is a great idea, you get to know fellow campers over a few drinks then slowly meander to bed. The pizza pop up provided great quality pizzas in a monsoon like down pour!
The Cornish Maid breakfasts are also a great idea if you don't want to cook anything. Porridge to sausage and bacon sandwiches prepared on site.
Hiring a wood burner or bbq is such a great idea, all the benefits and no mess to clear up in the morning.
An easy walk to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is highly recommended for a day out, and pop into the farm shop opposite to buy excellent steaks for that evenings bbq.
The only trip out we couldn't do was the ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey due to poor weather, which was a bit disappointing. Instead we went to Polkerris and Polperro which are both well worth visiting.
We have camped on both small and large sites before but not adult only. I can thoroughly recommend it; no kids running around at all hours. Dogs welcomed and all that were there at the same time as us were all very well behaved.

Lovely site at is handy for any part of Cornwall. Shower block is kept spotlessly clean. As an adult only site that is supposed to be quiet we were very disappointed when a party carried on until 1am and would have probably continued longer if we hadn't gone out and said something. The following night another party at another caravan. The owners told us they had told them to keep the noise down, especially after 10pm, but they didn't monitor it as they go to bed early. We ended up leaving early but a month later we are still waiting for a refund on the time we didn't stay. Yes it was our choice to leave, but don't doubt for one minute that the pitch would remain vacant as lots of people called in ad hoc.

We stayed at The Meadows for twelve days, our little named pitch was beside the hens and I enjoyed chatting to them most days,
The visiting catering vans was a great idea, but the cold evening air made being sociable difficult!
Fire pits, BBQ hire and fairy lights make this one of the prettiest sites I have stayed at.
Clean, adjustable showers in wet rooms was also a lovely facility.
We will certainly be back.

We have just returned from a wonderful 12 night stay at The Meadows in our tourer. We had holidayed here in 2014 and enjoyed the site and area so much, we decided to return this year.
In 2014 we only used our car twice all holiday, as there is so much to do within easy walking, cycling and bus distance ; Heligan, Eden, Mevagissey and Pentewan beach. This year we travelled a bit further afield - St Mawes is gorgeous, try the park and boat for Falmouth and the Camel Trail bike ride with a vineyard pitstop !
Site owners, the lovely John and Lynne, work incredibly hard to keep the site immaculately clean whilst remaining friendly and helpful - they are a great source of local information and recommendation. There is a relaxed, sociable atmosphere helped along by the visiting cocktails and pop up food, we tried the pizzas and breakfasts - fantastic - and it would have been rude not to have a cocktail or two (or three !) Firepits can be ordered and are delivered ready for evenings of star gazing.
The pitches to the left of the site are a cycle track away from a road so there is some traffic noise during the day, this side also benefitted from the evening sun. The opposite side pitches were sunnier in the mornings and quieter during the day being further from the road. The tents can choose to be on a lawn area or in spaces mown into a wild meadow at the end of the site.
The shower rooms are large wetrooms - I never had to wait for a shower, but did choose not to go at peak times. There is a washer and drier available for hire.
I think that John and Lynne have struck a really good balance, offering a relaxing, bunting festooned site with modern services and lots of thoughtful extras, we would highly recommend them and hope to visit again in a couple of years - thanks again for a great holiday, Jayne and Mark ☺

Had a lovely few days at The Meadows at the beginning of August.
Very friendly and welcoming, Large plots, Shower block is very clean, if I had to find fault it would be I would prefer if there were separate blocks for male and females.
We have 3 dogs and although there is no exercise area it's not a problem as there are walks all around and as there are no children about it's not so strict to keep them on a lead even though it is advised. There's a wifi area which is handy as we didn't have a signal on our phones.
We would definitely return to the Meadows and would recommend to anyone who seeks a peaceful child free, dog friendly site
