Lovely relaxed site, immaculate facilities.
Great for walking, cycling, visiting gardens (notably lost gardens of heligan) beaches, birdwatching. Lovely garden centre next door
Owners including Harvey (the dog) very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble
Good value, no extra charges for dogs and adults only

We have just spent two nights at this delightful site. Perfect in every way, location, facilities, layout and the most friendly, helpful and professional owners. If you want 'proper' camping within walking distance of the sea, the pub and the countryside this is the one. We hope to return as soon as possible and thanks for a great stay.

This is a lovely site, close to many attractions in Cornwall. Its an easy walk (20 mins) to Pentewan sands and there is a dedicated cycle path too. Its only 10-15 mins by car to Eden project and is also close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Padstow is a 20-30 min drive away.
The site is now adults only which is one of its attractions for us. It is also very dog friendly.
The site includes both marked pitches with electricity and a wild meadow area without.
We camped on the meadow which is very soft underfoot (and under your sleeping bag) and lovely with wild flowers and plants. The meadow area is 'park and pitch' so you park up, use one of the wheelbarrows to cart your stuff to a patch to pitch. The meadow has paths and pitches strimmed down for ease.
The facilities are some of the best I have ever encountered - immaculately clean including soap and towels in the loo area. There are 5 wet room showers (which include loo and basin and mirror) plus extra loos with hand basins. All hot water is unlimited and free including for the washing up. There is a washer and dryer and also a free hairdryer.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
You can rent BBQs and firepits (with fuel).
They also provide a breakfast service either delivered to your tent or served on the deck. The bacon and egg baguettes we had were enormous and excellent (for £3) and the coffee was good too. A good option on the day you are packing up to leave and don't want the washing up.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at The Meadows. The owners must be the most hardworking, conscientious and above all hospitable couple running a site we have ever come across.
They have only been running the site for about 10 months and have some really good plans for the Meadows.
The toilets and showers were immaculate with gallons of piping hot water. The washing up area was also spacious and again lashings of hot water.
The site is level and pitches are spacious. The drainage issues were being addressed by the owner and his mini digger and should be sorted by next season.
The site is ideally located for Mevagissey/Lost Gardens of Heligan and all the local attractions. The owner had taken the trouble to provide us with a list of the local dog beaches and pubs. We can highly recommend The Polgooth Inn (The Ship Inn at Pentewan does not come with such a recommendation from us though).
We will definitely be returning to this lovely little site, especially as The owners have taken the decision to go adult only.
In conclusion, it was a lovely experience to be hooted to sleep by the local owl population and the scrambled eggs provided by the girls were a real treat, so much so that we took half a dozen home with us. The owner can control most things but sadly the weather is not one of them. He did his best though and it was not for want of trying. All in all, a most enjoyable holiday.

If Bert & Mary were to run a camp site they'd look to these 2 for inspiration.
I found them both very pleasant, he never seemed to be able to do enough for us, and she tickled like champagne bubbles.
Breakfast baguettes, cakes for tea and descriptions of walks that made the walk almost pointless.
Her bubbly demeanour and enthusiastic spirit made sitting back and watching the wildlife an absolute joy.
A cycle path cuts straight across the entrance, great, , but when did my bike get so heavy??
A lovely walk along the river takes you quite quickly to the beach, cycle hire, kayak hire or the PUB (watch yourself on the Cornish Rattler).
The facilities were excellent and clean, we had visited 3 times this season and even under heavy duress with every shower cubicle being used, the showers still produced hot water with a good pressure.
We had to pack up in the rain but they helped us dry off the tent as best we could, way to go that extra mile.
We still have plenty more to do in the area so will be back next year.

We had a great time here, lovely people and lovely location.
They have done so much in such a short time to make it clean and tidy with a fine shower block, the people who moaned below cannot have been true campers. It was wet when we arrived and our 3. 8t motorhome went in just fine.
We had a fine pitch, good local intel and very pleasant company with no issues at all and so will happily visit again one day.
Keep up the good work.

Visited here for the first time this year and we were made very welcome. Although there were areas with lots of water we were given several options and selected a nice pitch near to the shower block. John and his wife are lovely friendly people and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, especially with the two crazy ladies in the VW caravanette next to us, we all had a great laugh during our stay. John showed me his plans for the site and although he has lots of hard work ahead, I am sure the site will become fabulous in time. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

The new owners deserve for The Meadows to be successful, it's obvious the amount of work they have done already to turn what was surely a fairly run down site into an inviting, homely and welcoming one - the little touches make all the difference, lovely welcome, the deck area, the chickens and the spotlessly clean toilets/showers. The all weather grass pitches are largely level and further down the site lots of space for big tents.
While the 'big' sites are all very corporate, The Meadows is a great antidote, a quiet, welcoming site with very friendly owners, Harvey the camp dog, chickens with fresh eggs for sale at reception.
Thoroughly recommended, and will only get better !

We are staying here currently and cannot speak highly enough of the owners. From the moment we contacted them to make the booking to our arrival, they were extremely pleasant and helpful.
We had travelled from Ireland with 2 dogs and they had a wealth of information ready for our arrival and were always on hand to answer any questions we had on the local walks and area.
The toilet and shower blocks are absolutely spotless and possibly the best we have seen in all our years camping.
On Sat a crepe van pulled into the site and the grub there would rival any crepes we have ever had in Paris. Yummy. A very nice touch.
All in all, we have had an amazing time here and will definitely be recommending this to our camping fiends back home and will definitely be back.
Thanks

We stayed at this campsite for one week and loved it. It is a fairly small site and for us was in a perfect position. We only used the car once in the whole week and that was when we went to Truro food festival. The site is on a good bus route which was good for us because we do like going out to eat at night and we were able to get into Mevagissey easily in the evening and come back on the bus which dropped us off right outside the site. It is also only a short walk along the river bank to the village of Pentewan which has a good pub and beach. Ideally situated for Lost Gardens of Heligan - again a short very pleasant walk. The facilities at the site were really good - nice hot showers and very clean. I was very lazy whilst there as they serve breakfast baguettes and we had these most days whilst sitting on their lovely sunny deck. The hosts will also deliver them to your caravan/tent if you wish. They have more plans for the site so it will be interesting to see what changes have been made when we go back next year - and we certainly will as there is so much to see and do in this lovely area. A week was just not enough time.
